Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
BigBadMick replied to TravJ1979's topic in Pro Wrestling
Doctor, just so you know, my wife hates wrestling. I'd imagine most posters here don't have significant others that share a passion for wrestling. Try not to let this be that important to your relationship. -
And Slamboree 93, commentating on the bock v dory match.

Wrestling War Zone: The Monday Night Wars w/ JT & Chad
BigBadMick replied to Bigelow34's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I'll be honest lads, when I first saw these, my reaction was 'Really? Jesus, again?!!!' but you've put a fresh coat of paint on the topic and it's been interesting so far. Now, how about you two bridge the gap from the last WTBBP and cover WCW PPVs from July 93 to August 95? -
83 Weeks with Eric Bischoff
BigBadMick replied to flyonthewall2983's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I listened to the Bret episode. I'll say this for Bischoff - he's put a lot of time and effort into prep for this episode. Not nearly as much 'i don't recall..' answers as I was expecting based on previous interviews. -
Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
BigBadMick replied to Lust Hogan's topic in Publications and Podcasts
He's on Wade Keller's free podcast this week. He's a businessman through and through. https://www.podcastone.com/episode/WKPWP---Flagship-with-Keller--Conrad-Thompson-talking-All-Ins-sellout-Starrcast-convention-the-rise-of-Pro-Wrestling-Podcasts-Reigns-5-17-18 -
How much time a week do you devote to watching wrestling?
BigBadMick replied to SpecialK's topic in Pro Wrestling
I know what you mean. And by the time I've gone through wrestling podcasts at work, a lot of the time I don't feel like actually watching much. -
Got married in January. We've been together six years. I have a 7 year old stepson (his father isn't on the scene at all) and a 16 month old girl. Work as a painter/decorator with my brother. It started as a summer job getting through university, and for short spells of unemployment, but resigned myself to it a couple of years ago as the easy/sensible option. I finished my history and Politics degree in 1999, tried various office jobs, lived in Belfast for a while, but this country mouse seemed to get chewed up and spat out.

First two that spring to mind are Austin and Michaels.

That's a really interesting and unique way to get into wrestling.

I'd love it if someone could explain the appeal of curb your enthusiasm. I just see a self absorbed incredibly wealthy man getting into very trivial arguments..

Really doesn't take much to set you off, does it?

What Happened When with Tony Schiavone

Virtually ignoring the Flair-Steamboat match at Clash 6 was the final straw for me. -
Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
BigBadMick replied to Lust Hogan's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I just saw this, but my phone's acting wonky here at work tonight and won't let me access the 605 Soopah pod. Mind recapping what this was about? Let's see....he called Pritchard a loser, said he wasn't intellectually curious - basically a sheep for everything fed to him by the MCMahons. To be fair, Last and Prichard have wildly different approaches to their podcasts so this doesn't come as a surprise... -
Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard

Actually, if you go to the site you can see the topics covered and then pick and choose from there.. http://www.mlwradio.com/jim-cornette-experience.html -
Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
BigBadMick replied to Lust Hogan's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I saw that coming… Yep, it's probably gonna be the end for me. Regardless, Prichard being on the WWE payroll in any shape makes the whole thing completely worthless. From which episode would you recommend picking back up on the Cornette podcast ? I was a regular listener back a few years ago then stopped listening (even before the whole host quiting debacle). A few episodes before Christmas, when he started covering different periods of his career in depth. There's one on 14th December that covers December 1984, for example. -
I've wondered for years why, if Cena has no intention of changing his ways, WWE doesn't shoot his matches from further back. And turn down the ring mics.

Most recent 605 Holiday Special really goes to town on Prichard from the 1.36 mark... http://605pod.com/ -
What Happened When with Tony Schiavone
BigBadMick replied to flyonthewall2983's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I've been more selective with this podcast this year but covering Clash 6 this week sounds promising. -
I think starting out as a fan now would be a daunting task. At the time I would have liked more, faster but in hindsight the gradual accumulation of knowledge and footage from the early 90s suited me fine.

83 Weeks with Eric Bischoff
BigBadMick replied to flyonthewall2983's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Conrad's an interesting chap in that he's been reading the observer for at least 20 years, has sort of been on the inside to some extent for several years, but i don't think there's a poster here that knows less than him. -
Excellent episode. I'd love to see them use this format more often.
-
Very nice. The Foley-Michaels episode covering Mind Games was very good
-
Any plans for the rest of these? First pair of episodes were really enthusiastic with plenty of hearty chuckles.

Hadn't thought about it til now, but I don't either.
