  1. Good show. I was a bit weary of the third round, but Will dropping knowledge on some lesser-known characters and the Battle for California kept things interesting.
  2. In what might be my last ever 'It's not all bad, honestly' post on this thread, I've watched the Wolves-Dirty Heels best of 5 series in the last 2 days. Really enjoyed it.
  3. Got a real kick out of likening the Dusty tribute to a catholic wake . Really good show, feels like you're all finding your feet and getting comfortable. Look forward to more.
  4. Really liked the bit at the end inviting everyone to participate. If Steven is much lower than Will on the 'most footage watched' totum pole, I feel like my notch might be in the ground.

    Undertaker

Parties - no offence taken, I assure you. What are the handful of matches you do like?

    Undertaker

I really enjoyed the spectacle of late era 'Taker (2007-15). The part time schedule added to the aura.

    Mick Foley

Enjoyed Dylan's run through on the podcast, and reminded me that Foley contributed bucketloads in the 90s. Always took great pride in his work. That's worth a great deal to me.
  8. Bumping this because I think he's top 20 material for me, regardless of all the mishaps along the way.
  9. Gotta go with realism or romance too.
  10. ...ah, got it now.
  11. I looked up doxa on dictionary.com - they don't have it.....
  12. Which Danielson match was that, Dylan?
  13. http://www.wrestlingforum.com/classic-wrestling/1351194-1999-interview-dave-meltzer.html Has Meltzer ever said anything further about the Torch since 1999? He had Bruce Mitchel on to discuss Dusty recently, so I assume they're on civil terms.
  14. Enjoyed the talk here about fandom in 1998-99. I was in a similar position to Justin - validation at university after all those years in the closet!
  15. I can see myself getting a little weary if every week is a bunch of wild parties/road stories with his guest. Would prefer he kept it in the ring, or at least directly related to wrestling. Maybe that's just me though.
  16. It might be interesting to chart that. As far as I remember, crowds were really unpleasant in late '05/early '06. Very gradually, as the year went on, there was an acceptance/grudging respect in a lot of buildings. I think Edge deserves credit as a heel there. Feuding with Michaels in early 2007 (instead of Hunter) elevated Cena's work and standing to a degree, but HBK was much more popular among hardcores/adult males, so that unfortunately knocked him back to square one.
  17. I wasn't paying really close attention to Cena after the 2007 injury - did the anti-Cena chants wane at all when he was less prolific in 2008?
  18. I agree. But I think that's a lot more obvious in hindsight. He really carried the load in 2007 when everyone else was off with injuries (Hunter, Undertaker, Michaels, Edge) but by Spring/Summer 2008 I felt the top of the card on Raw was a lot more cluttered. He was removed from the title picture and was biding his time with JBL and Batista.
  19. Sad indeed. But, as noted before, he seems like an exceptionally well-adjusted man (for someone that attained his fame/success). Hopefully he'll find something else to pursue. Didn't he want to do charity work previously?
  20. It was 16 suplexs alright. That was a big talkng point going into the rematch in September.
  21. Agreed. Very awkward moment.
  22. I second that request. 1992 does seem rather unsung in AJPW.
  23. It sounds like a lovely cloud though.
  24. Wow! Not many LU fans here, huh?
  25. Any chance of a Top 10 matches so far from Lucha Underground? Please.....
