  1. I don't think Stephanie will be in it, but having her doing commentary almost guarantees she gets involved in some way, whether it's helping eliminate someone or being there at the end to set up an angle with the winner.
  2. https://www.facebook.com/JapaneseWrestlingClassics/videos/1880493778642549/ Interesting to see Hogan and Dusty face off.
  3. I see what you did there. Lol
  4. Haven't got to dive into the Mid Atlantic yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing what else you find, Sean. Thanks for the thread.
  5. Royal Rumble entrant maybe? Sami Callihan busted up Eddie Edwards with a baseball bat at the tapings too. Was it a real bat and not gimmicked? Broken nose, broken orbital bone, ton of blood according to reports. Rushed him to the emergency room because they thought he could lose an eye.
  6. Looks like Chris Adonis is gone too.
  7. Silas Young was one of the few wrestlers that impressed me in my sporadic ROH viewings. I place a higher value on having the total package though. In addition to being decent in the ring, he also has a fantastic character. Most of these other "super workers" that have no character, facials, or crowd interactions don't do a thing for me. Silas Young is one of the very few who could succeed on Raw or Smackdown. BTW, this is not meant as a slight against any of the other wrestlers you mentioned - most of whom I haven't even seen yet - just my specific impressions of Young from a show I watched a few months ago. As for Gotch, I get the impression from the few "shoot interview" clips I've seen is that he has a bad attitude and was his own worst enemy at times. Whether that's actually the case, who knows, but I don't think he's doing himself any favors by sticking to his failed WWE gimmick. It just makes him look like a big league castoff instead of someone fresh and interesting who has been revitalized on the indy scene. For all of the criticisms I and others have leveled against Cody Rhodes, the one thing you cannot argue is that he has changed things up and raised his stock. Grimm seems to be doing more of the same ol' same ol' that didn't exactly work for him in the first place. I might have to dig up some more matches as it could have been the opponent instead of him. I had basically the same thoughts on Grimm, thought he worked best as part of the Vaudvillians. By himself something is missing doing the same stuff.
  8. Catching the first ROH tv of 2018, I admit not being familiar with new ROH champ Dalton Castle, but he's interesting. Setting up Lethal as a contender who I like. Silas Young is the tv champ, not impressed. Simon Gotch is working as Simon Grimm, reminding me that I miss the Vaudevillans and that his best days are probably behind him. Briscoes calling out the Motor City Machine Guns, that should be fun. Main event is Flip Gordon vs Marty Scurll starting now.
  9. I've wondered if Cornette has any ICW recorded in his collection.
  10. Not a lot unfortunately. There are a couple of YouTube channels that have several episodes and some assorted matches and promos.

  12. Has there ever been a move that protected, even if it was just for one person, that once it was hit there was no kicking out? Jake Roberts DDT maybe? Edit: sorry, forgot Undertaker did it.
  13. Is this just carny bs all around? Former WWE Champion "Psycho" Sid Vicious cancelled a scheduled appearance this weekend, and is blaming President Donald Trump's travel ban. The Absolute Intense Wrestling promotion out of Ohio announced today that Sid has cancelled his scheduled appearance at tonight's event in Cleveland. According to the statement released on the official AIW Facebook and Twitter pages, Sid cited Trump's travel ban as the reason for his cancellation. Check out the complete statement below. "We have some bad news to report. Our greatest fears have come true,Sid did not board his flight this morning. After several phone calls he finally answered when we used Swoggle's phone to call. Sid claimed Donald Trump's travel ban prevented him from boarding his flight to Cleveland this morning because of an unpaid speeding ticket and he claimed this is new government policy since he didn't have his passport even though he was traveling within the United States and is a United States Citizen. We recorded his cancelation call just so there is proof of all this and we we will do our best to play the audio tonight or on a future episode of our podcast. We apologize to all of the fans who were excited to meet Sid tonight and unfortunately this is something 100% out of our control. We invested quite a bit of money in this appearance and we have now lost out on close to $1,000 we will never get back on airline tickets, hotels, and merchandise we had made for Sid. We are going to try and do our best to find a replacement and plan on spending the rest of the day making phone calls and trying to get somebody there to replace Sid."
  14. Looks like there's a good chance we're getting Cena/Undertaker at Wrestlemania.
  15. I am amazed at the number of tag teams on Smackdown and it looks like they are finding something for all of them to do.
  16. Sounds like she took a kick in the back from Sasha Banks and got a stinger, but after her neck problems it's good they are being careful. Hopefully she'll be back in the ring at least by the Rumble.
  17. There's always a place somewhere for live sports. I was watching a dodgeball league on ESPN 2 the other night. (not even ESPN 8 - The Ocho, lol) There's always the WWE Network if they need a place to show it.
  18. Selling moves that don't even make contact is rough though. I understand botches happen, but when the whole point is for everything to be 'off', I don't understand it. I've seen some nice reversal and dodging and blocking exchanges, but this isn't it. I'm not talking about anything from a non-fan standpoint, I'm just talking about me. It just looks sloppy.
  19. But that small niche audience is willing to pay premium prices for tickets and merchandise. Is 50 fans paying $100 to watch a match really less impressive than 1000 fans paying $5 to watch one? Most niche products seem to have gone this way. The best selling comic books used to sell half a million copies, now the best sellers are around the 100,000 copy mark. But most comics now are at least $3 or more, whereas then they were a dollar or less. The publishers are still making the same amount of money or more by charging more to less customers. Guess the problem with that is as your audience keeps dwindling, can you afford to keep raising prices?
  20. https://twitter.com/briantheguppie/status/942054673451835392 I'm sorry, but IMO that's terrible. Sigh. Is that part of the gimmick now that they are trying to make everything look fake? It's like bad fight choreography in a low budget action movie. I feel old. Like actively wishing someone would get in there and stiff or stretch them all. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle, but it's better for my mental health if I stay away from things like that.
  21. To me it felt like the teacher coming in on the class being rowdy or fighting, everyone stops what they are doing and behaves, then the teacher tells them they are getting ice cream or whatever, everybody hugs and cheers. Breaking the 4th wall in the worst way possible.
  22. Ha! Wouldn't that be something.
  23. Vince McMahon selling WWE rumors are popping up again. I don't have faith in anyone having the money to buy it doing anything all that great with it if that were to happen.
  24. I think that's the best description I've ever heard of Vince Russo's booking method.
  25. Always liked him in WCW growing up. Him and Brian Pillman made a good team.
