Eugene Stormfront gets the fans cheering early Barr and Eddie still have that chemistry Severn makes it known that he's still a wrecking machine The OWC continue to have an iron grip on their GS tag titles Hashimoto wins the battle of former TV champs Condrey's incredible run continues to amaze me. Definitely the comeback of 1990
  5. Enjoyed the fallout from Stampede. More intrigue in the Lawler/Rich saga I'm sure Dutch is going to love having his wages garnished to pay off Gaylord. Very creative Hot Stuff Inc must love the fact that Gilbert gets to represent the USWA in TV title bouts. Big ego boost And Hart sticks his foot in his mouth, yet again Mid South Coliseum Budro gets to leave on a high note It seems Rich is really trying to be a babyface again. We'll see how all this plays out Savage retains against the Iceman. Savage did tone down his behavior just a tad Bossman's racked up some really big wins lately Hart really is a heat magnet which makes Christopher's first win so sweet. The First Family will be coming for payback but luckily Christopher has Dundee backing him up Chaos ends the night but Rich manages to be the hot topic. You've got some really great storylines going on.
  6. I love your descriptions for the squash matches. Puts an entertaining spin on a routine match. Jake always gave the best ominous promos Dusty's gathering his squad. Excited to see who the 4th man will be. The Rougeau's continue to crack me up. Fun main event. Nice touch by having Brown shun Snuka's handshake. Totally his character. SNME is shaping up to be a must see event!
  7. Paul E might be sorry he bet against Steamboat, but then again I guess I would have the upmost confidence in Muta. Hall is rock'n that TV title. Crush will be a good test Sid Vicious is set to rule WCW! Pillman gets a strong win over Abby as he heads into his world title bout with Luger. Great promo by Sting. I loved how he put Pillman over here. Him and Nikita are going to tear it down. It made total sense ending the show with the Road Warriors getting great heat on Marty. Solid reminder why this match is main eventing the Bash.
  8. I agree with AD. The match descriptions are incredibly detailed oriented and well written. I can easily visualize all the action going on. Nagai sure got a welcoming tonight. Taira edges one out with a nice submission move at the end Damn, that was an awesome flurry at the end by Nakano Vrij sure knocked the wind out of Anjo Nakamura took a devastating liver shot. Those will put you down. Big win for Hug Wow the youngster Ogawa plays it cool and upsets Onita Han's one of my favorites here. Always good to see him get the win. He's got some serious momentum going Whoa, Takada gave Dolman a pounding. I'm sure the media will be talking about that Props to Funaki for a great showing against one of the best. Maeda pulls it out in dramatic fashion.
  9. I appreciate all your hard work catching up. The road to Fire on the Mountain has been full of non stop excitement. There's literally never a dull moment and every match has meaning. Bullet and Fuller are leading the way but everybody else is getting time to shine. It's amazing what you're doing with the roster pickups. A lot of wrestlers are getting great buzz and making names for themselves in our world. No doubt about it, Fire on the Mountain will sell out.
  10. I thought for sure HTM was heading for a face turn. I was wrong. Instead, he somehow becomes even more hated. Dundee changes the mood with a fun win over Budro. That no good dirty Dutch escapes his punishment. If Gaylord ever catches him, Dutch will be hurting for a long time. Dutch does play the cowardly heel so well. Wow Bossman scores a huge win over Mr. Wonderful. I enjoyed this match between two top names. Big things ahead for the Bossman. Gilbert and JJ go the distance in a barnburner. The big question is who is Medusa's man. Nice touch by having him point at both Gilbert and JJ. Very intriguing. Anvil and Hammer have quickly become one of my favorite teams in the game. I love the Southern Boys, but I'm looking forward to this reign. Savage puts Hennig away after a damn good dream match. Savage's treatment of Liz reminds the fans why they boo him. OH MAN! The Steiners/Doom match was off the charts! Excellent write up. Steiners retain and are going nowhere but up. Also loved the write up for the main event. I liked the slow methodical pace that turns into a roller coaster ride. The Tommy Rich tease was well done. Lawler stands tall to end the night on a great note. Awesome card! The Great American Stampede delivered brother!
  11. Watch out Dibiase, Martel's gunning for you Sabu tones down the violence and gets the win Piper cracks me up. Lee's been put in a great spot here. If the Spinebuster slam doesn't get you, the bully breaker will. When you have all the gold, you have a right to brag Dangerous K is right! Bret tunes up for the big 6 man tag Vancouver Lynn picks up a confidence building win Damn, Regal sure found a way to keep Singh down and out Severn and Blackman are rapidly rising in the tag ranks Speaking of rising, Douglas keeps racking up the wins Huge win for Awesome. He now has the momentum in this heated feud YES! After that pin, Martel's pretty much sealed the deal for a rematch Kelowna, Big upset for Hamrick The cat and mouse game worked for a bit but Harlem Heat drops the hammer Eaton and Condrey prove they still have it Liger makes a case for a LWH title shot PCO is dominating Scotty these days Barr wins a thriller to retain and end another great weekend of action
  12. AWA Preview Friday July 11th and Saturday July 12th The Metrodome, Minneapolis MN Live on pay per view AC/DC in concert both nights Bonnie Tyler will sing the National Anthem on Night 1 and America the Beautiful on Night 2 AWA World Title Bout Hulk Hogan (C) vs. 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair This match is so big that the AWA had to call in legendary promoter Don King to help promote it. Hogan shocked the wrestling world by signing with the AWA a year and a half ago. With Hogan coming in, the AWA was able to secure a major TV deal with Sports Channel America. Hogan went on to win the AWA world title and has enjoyed a year long title reign. PPV numbers are way up as is house attendances. Not to mention the main stream media attention that Hogan has brought in. Hogan has enjoyed a tremendous reign and has defeated top names like Terry Gordy, Jumbo Tsuruta, Nikita Koloff and Stan Hansen. The AWA is riding high and so is Hulkamania. In March, Ric Flair received the red carpet treatment for his signing. Flair made it clear that his goal was to beat Hulk Hogan for the AWA world title. Flair secured his shot by winning the Champagne Challenge. At Title Night, after Hogan defeated Stan Hanen in a bloody and brutal cage match, Flair, Arn Anderson and Larry Zbyszko attacked Hogan in the cage and injured his leg. Hogan rehabbed like hell while Flair was wrestling and cutting promos on TV. At the press conference another altercation happened and everybody thought Hogan had reinjured his leg. On TV, Flair confronted Hogan and Hogan showed Flair and the world he was ready to go as he broke a crutch over his leg and fired up on Flair. These two icons will finally meet at WrestleRock. AWA World Tag Team Title Bout The Rock n Roll Express (C) vs. The Enforcers The RnR Express defeated the Fantastics at SuperClash in a classic to win the titles. Since then they've taken down a variety of teams and remain one of the top teams in the world. The Enforcers debuted in an unusual way by attacking the newly crowned USWA champ Jerry Lawler back at Champagne Slam. They seem to have some kind of long term plan for Lawler and also the AWA, because they immediately targeted and challenged the RnR Express. During the attack on Hogan at Title Night, RnR tried to help by climbing up the cage, but the Enforcers slammed their heads on the top and watched RnR take a nasty fall. RnR was pissed and said they would defend the titles against the Enforcers at WrestleRock. Since then these two teams have had some intense altercations. Tensions are running high for this anticipated world tag title bout. AWA International Title Bout 'The Red Rooster' Terry Taylor (C) vs. ??? Taylor has said over and over again that he runs the AWA henhouse and is the cock of the walk. You have to hand it to him, he's remained International Champion since October. However, his enlarged ego might have become too big because he arrogantly said he didn't need to know who his opponent would be at WrestleRock. AWA National Tag Team Title Bout The Mavericks (C) vs. Latin Desire vs. The Jive Tones w/Tiger Conway Jr. The Jive Tones and Mavericks had been feuding. At champagne Slam, the Jive Tones interference backfired and they actually helped the Mavericks defeat Latin Desire for the titles. Since then this has become a 3 way feud. Latin Desire and the Jive Tones are beyond confident that their walking out of WrestleRock with the titles while the Mavericks want to solidify themselves as the true champs once and for all. AWA TV Title Bout David Sammartino (C) vs. King Kahlua Special Guest Ring Announcer- Jasmine Guy These two wrestled to a draw at Title Night. Kahlua felt like he had the match won. A couple weeks later on TV, Sammartino just finished a match when Kahlua hit the ring and threw a fireball at Sammartino. Kahlua then stole the TV title. Luckily the fireball just singed Sammartino's ear and he's almost fully recovered. Kahlua wants to be taken seriously and said he had to take matters into his own hands. Sammartino is hell bent on just beating him. As an added bonus, actress Jasmine Guy continues the WrestleRock tradition of special guest ring announcer. STEEL CAGE MATCH! The Magnificent Muraco vs. Jumbo Tsuruta These two had a pretty heated feud going and traded wins across the loop. Things went nuclear when Ray Stevens ordered Jumbo to attack Superstar Graham. Jumbo gave Graham 2 powerbombs and sent him to the hospital. Two weeks later, a vengeful Muraco attacked Stevens and put him out of commission with an inverted piledriver on the concrete. Both men have felt the effects. Jumbo has been putting opponents out on stretchers while Muraco has brought his Magnificent roots back. I just hope the cage can hold up because this is going to be a bloodbath full of rage. El Canek vs. King Kong Bundy For years Greg Gagne has been trying to terminate El Canek's career and for years Canek always overcomes and gets the best of Gagne. After another long absence, Gagne returned and promised something big for Canek. Well, he delivered by bringing in King Kong Bundy. Bundy broke Canek's ribs and put him on the shelve for awhile. However, Gagne should know better as Canek returned once again. Gagne has all the confidence in the world in Bundy and knows this is the monster who will finally end Canek. One thing the fans know is never count Canek out. Carlos Colon vs. Col Debeers Colon has always been at the top of the AWA cards. He's been an AWA mainstay and continues to pour his blood, sweat and tears into his matches. Debeers arrived and made an immediate impact saying he had a plan to take over the AWA. At Champagne Slam, Colon eliminated Debeers from the battle royal. Debeers blamed Colon for ruining his plan. Debeers declared war on Colon. Debeers costed Colon his International title bout. Colon wanted to let Debeers know who he was dealing with and declared war on Debeers. Since then, Debeers has tried several times to attack Colon, but Colon always comes out on top. Maybe Debeers doesn't exactly know what he's dealing with at WrestleRock. Taped Fist Match Leo Burke vs. Jimmy 'The Stud' Golden Special Referee- Randall 'Tex' Cobb Burke's remained one of the most consistent title contenders in the AWA. Things took a turn when Golden arrived on the scene and gave Burke a piledriver on the concrete, putting him out of action for months. Burke returned and gave Golden a beating he'll never forget. Since then, these two have been slugging it out anytime they can. This match was signed for WrestleRock so they can just beat everything out of each other. With that said, the AWA had to call in the only man who could officiate this fight, Randall Cobb. 'Lionheart' Tony St. Clair vs. The Missing Link For some reason, Link has targeted St. Clair and has ambushed him on TV and at several house shows. St. Clair demanded and received this one on one match at WrestleRock. Falls Count Anywhere Match Cactus Jack vs. 'Mad Dog' Buzz Sawyer Sawyer has made it known that he loves to have fun and fun to him is brutal matches. Jack arrived in a box at Superclash and attacked Sawyer. Jack made it known that he likes to have fun also. These two have been involved in some of the bloodiest matches in AWA history. The thing is, Jack has been unable to defeat Sawyer. Will WrestleRock finally be his lucky day? I can't imagine the fun these two will have all over the stadium. The Hangman w/Nell vs. The Snowman Nelson Royal has been sickened by what he's seen in today's wrestling. He went under some kind of transformation and returned to the AWA as a southern like preacher. He brought with him, the Hangman (noose and all) and said they would rid the AWA of lost souls. Former AWA tag champ, the Snowman returned and was ready to go at it solo. Snowman was immediately targeted by Nell. The Hangman attacked Snowman and tried to choke him with the noose but Snowman turned the tables and wound up choking Nell with it. Nell said this was a grave mistake and the Hangman will dispose of him at WrestleRock. Tornado Match The Olympians vs. The Soul Patrol Tom Brandi has actually been the key part in this feud. Brandi gave Patera a couple of upset losses which infuriated the Olympians. The Olympians played the numbers game on Brandi and eventually put him out of action. The Soul Patrol came after the Olympians for Brandi. These two teams clashed and the Olympians always cheated their way to victory. The Soul Patrol said ok, let's have it out in a tornado match. The Soul Patrol are dedicating this match to Tom Brandi and the Olympians think that's the funniest and most pathetic thing they've ever heard. 'The Future' JW Storm and the Destruction Crew vs. 'The Mighty Yankee' Steve Disalvo and the Power Twins Storm and Disalvo have been locked into a feud. The Destruction Crew interfered in a match and Storm's hand was raised. An alliance was formed and Storm clams they're the future of wrestling. Disalvo called up his gym buddies, the Power Twins to even things up. This will definitely be a muscled up power match at WrestleRock. 'Rugged' Ron Garvin vs. Mike Graham Graham came in with boos because his good friend Greg Gagne introduced him. Graham has claimed to be a true and legit wrestler and can't be beat. He issued an open challenge at WrestleRock. Ron Garvin showed up and simply signed the contract. Bobby Blaze and The Takano Dragons vs. The All-Starrs At Title Night, Idol lost to Ric Flair and per the stipulation, he's banned from using the figure four leglock. Well, he had a TV match with Blaze and was DQed for using the move. In frustration, Idol gave Blaze a beatdown. The Takanos and Starrs have been feuding around the loop. During the Idol/Blaze rematch, the Starrs hit the ring, but the Takanos were on them. Later, Idol announced that the All-Starrs were back in business. Blaze countered with what he calls his fire breathing brothers. The Renegade Warriors vs. The Can Am Express The Warriors have been top contenders in the tag division for the past year. The Can Ams have enjoyed major success in PCW and will make their eagerly awaited debut at WrestleRock. 'The British Bomber' Johnny Smith w/Les Thornton vs. Mr. Saito Under Thornton's tutelage, Smith has enjoyed success in the ring and has become a title contender. Saito will make his AWA debut at WrestleRock. Saito's buzz has rubbed Thornton the wrong way and says Saito's going to regret coming to the AWA after Smith gets through with him. The Swords of Light vs. Good Vibrations w/The Vin Man A few months ago, Konnan and Gama Singh united as the Swords of Light. Vinnie went to the beach and put together his team of Tommy Jammer and Sandy Beach, calling them Good Vibrations. The Swords have quickly become a solid unit but Vin and Good Vibrations aren't taking them very seriously. This should be a fun match to kick off WrestleRock.
  13. Nice to see Hase get some TV exposure The War Zone is back and what a war it will be. SK gets the win but Genius gets the mask. I've said how much I've loved this feud and I can't wait for the blow off at SNME The issues between Slick and Brown could explode into something big for the WWF Haku wins the battle of the Islanders. With the current storylines going, SNME should be a big hit
  14. That finish by Earthquake was devastating Hmmmm I wonder what Frenchy was doing out there Tito and Berzerker keep their feud going. Right on! I got to see the Ultimate Warrior defend his title against the Raging Bull. This just seemed like a fun match for the house shows. You can never go wrong by booking a patriot against the Iron Sheik. Big win for Ross, which is followed by another big win for America in the tag match Slick was smart to be on his best behavior The Rhodes get a nice satisfying win in a grudge match Haku rebounds well from his KOTR defeat The fans got to see some great finishers from Jake and Demolition Duggan battling Bravo for the IC title will be money Really good house shows here.
  15. After reading your dirt sheets, I think good ol JR put together the right Bash card. I think it was the right move holding off Sting and Luger. The angle was done so well that there's no reason to hot shot it. Let Sting get his in ring momentum going again while Luger can settle into his heel role. The Road Warriors and Rockers have been tearing it up, so a rubber match inside the cage will draw. Sting's grudge match with Nikita is red hot right now, so that's a big marquee match up. Pillman is the ultimate underdog, so he's a great choice for Luger's first big title defense as a heel. Steamboat and Muta are going to rock the house and now the added stipulation brings more spice El Gigante will be an attraction and he's protected in a 6 man tag A feud that's been a real gem is the US tag title matches. This match could steal the show. Crush is a good choice for Hall. Why not let two big guys slug it out for the TV title. I think the Bash's matches have been built up well and the fans will get a strong card.
  16. Adams is another PCW vet who's reenergized his career here. PCO is looking to break out big time That LHW tag match must have torn the roof off the place Harlem Heat scores a big win over two legit tough guys Dual champ Condrey comes in clutch. LA My guys, the FOJ pick up a W The tag team scene is beyond competitive right now Hashimoto wins the battle of former TV champs Bigelow evens things up with an awesome visual OH YEA! We finally get a taste of the long awaited Iron &Steel/MVC title match. To be continued. Damn, the fans get their money's worth with an absolute classic between two of the best workers in the world. Santa Barbara The SOB are having a rapid rise Kawada can't be stopped right now No shame for Hamrick's loss because Condrey is in the championship zone Tenryu reminds PCW that he's still a force The Italian Stallion is one tough dude, but nobody gets up from the Spinebuster Slam! Hart gets the fall but Piper and Lee have unfinished business
  17. AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 6-27-90 Larry Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. AWA World Champion Hulk Hogan will be here tonight and we'll see if he'll be fit to go at WrestleRock. I'll also be talking to is WrestleRock challenger, Ric Flair later on. We've got a lot going on, so let's get to the ring. AWA TV Champ David Sammartino vs. Curtis Moore Sammartino's ear is still bandaged but it doesn't seem to bother him at all. He hits the belly to belly suplex and it's all over. Nelson: Well David, it looks like the ear is healing well. I'm sure you heard the comments from King Kahlua last week. It's you and him for the TV title at WrestleRock. Sammartino: The fireball didn't stop me. His face paint doesn't scare me. And his threats don't intimidate me. It's real simple Larry. At WrestleRock I'm going to beat the man! Commercial Break 'The Future' JW Storm and The Destruction Crew vs. Todd Rooney, Sam Smith and Teddy Thompson Storm puts his opponent down with a spere and the Destruction Crew finish things off with the Wrecking Ball. Storm and the Crew cut a promo and say they're going to put those 3 bumbling musclehead nerds down at WresteRock! Commercial Break El Canek vs. Trent Watkins and Joe Donner Canek figures he'll have to deal with both Bundy and Gagne at WrestleRock, so he tunes up with a handicap match here. Canek gorilla press slams Donner down, then suplexes Watkins on top of Donner. Canek goes to the top rope and crashes down with a splash on both men for the win. Commercial Break We see a video package of Mr. Saito executing moves and submission holds on various opponents. Nelson: Ok, here with me now is Les Thornton and the man who will be facing Mr. Saito at WrestleRock, Johnny Smith. Les, Mr. Saito is a legend in this sport but you do seem to have the upmost confidence in the British Bomber. Les: And why wouldn't I? (points to Smith) This man is pure steel. There's no way a washed up has been like Mr. Saito is going to debut in the AWA and defeat the British Bomber. If Saito thinks that, then he's dreaming, but he is in for a nightmare at WrestleRock. Commercial Break Bobby Walker w/Mike Jones vs. Brad Rheingans w/Ken Patera This will be a little taste of the WrestleRock tornado match between these two teams. Walker starts strong as he hip tosses, arm drags and dropkicks Rheingans all over the ring. The tide changes when Patera (from the outside) trips Walker. Jones runs over and knocks Patera down with a big punch. Inside the ring, Rheingans works over Walker pretty good. Jones fires Walker up with encouragement. Walker starts to make a comeback. Patera gets on the apron and steps into the ring. Jones rushes into the ring. The Ref is getting order. The Ref is guiding Jones to the outside as Patera grabs his loaded towel. Walker goes after Patera and Patera drops the towel and a brick falls out. Patera is on the apron when Walker grabs him. Rheingans puts the brick back in the towel and hits Walker's head from behind. Rheingans tosses the towel to the outside. Rheingans covers as the Ref turns around, runs over and counts 1..2..3! Jones gets in there quick as Patera pulls Rheingans out of the ring. The Olympians laugh and celebrate as Jones tends to his partner. Commercial Break We see a desolate town with tumbleweeds blowing across. We see the Hangman holding his noose. The camera then pans to Nell. Nell: Snowman, you made a grave mistake by putting this here noose around my neck. Now, you must answer to the Hangman. We told you we were coming after your soul and at WrestleRock, that's exactly what we're going to get. The Snowman vs. Roy Glader Snowman is all over Glader. He swings Glader to the ropes and finishes him off with a running double axehandle to the chest. Snowman cuts a fired up promo and says Nell and Hangman say they're coming for his soul but at WrestleRock, he's gonna give them both a first class ass whip'n! Commercial Break 'Lionheart' Tony St. Clair vs. Neil Jordan St. Clair is on full alert tonight but stays focused and wins the match with a floating butterfly suplex. We see footage of various sneak attacks by Missing Link on St. Clair. Nelson: Tony, security has confirmed that the Missing Link is not in the building tonight. I know you have no idea why Link has targeted you but at WrestleRock, you finally get a match with him face to face. Tony: That's right! Face to face! He's real tough attacking from behind but I have a feeling he wont be so tough when we're face to face. Ok Link, man up, because it's time to see what you've got. Commercial Break We see Greg Gagne and King Kong Bundy standing in front of a WrestleRock banner Gagne: Years! Years! Years! For years, that masked moron El Canek has given me nothing but pain and heartache. He's beaten and crippled me. Put me in the hospital numerous times and out of commission. The physical and mental anguish has been unbearable. A lesser man would walk away but not me! After WrestleRock, I will finally be at peace because this monster (pats Bundy's shoulder) will end that masked moron's career once and for all and then only then will I be truly free. Bundy: Don't worry Greg, I assure you, there will be nothing left of Canek after I get though with him. Say your prayer's Canek! Commercial Break Carlos Colon vs. Harold Bannister Colon hits the flying clothesline from the top rope and it's all over. OH NO! Col. Debeers hits the ring with his club! Colon turns around and kicks Debeers low. Colon picks up the club and hits Debeer's over the back with it! Colon steps on Debeers and holds the club up. The fans are cheering as Colon hits Debeers back with it again. Officials rush in but Colon is satisfied and drops the club on Debeers. Commercial Break We see The Magnificent Muraco standing in front of a WrestleRock banner Muraco: Eye for an eye Tsuruta! You drew first blood brotha! At WrestleRock I'm going to make sure you bleed and every drop will be for my bother, Superstar Graham! Bobby Blaze and The Takano Dragons vs. Walter Riggs, Chance Collins and Frank Wilde The Takano's hit a double hot shot and Blaze follows with a northern lights suplex for the win. Blaze and the Takano's cut a promo and say they will walk through the fire together and take down the so called All-Stars at WrestleRock! Commercial Break We see the melee from last week's world title press conference. Hulk Hogan is helped out of there afterwards. Ken Resnick is standing in the ring. Resnick: Please welcome out the AWA world champion, the immortal Hulk Hogan! Eye of the Tiger hits as Hogan comes walking out on crutches. The world title is around his waist. He carefully slides his crutches into the ring and then carefully pulls himself under the bottom rope. He pulls himself up with the ropes and picks up his crutches. Resnick: Hulk, this doesn't look good. At WrestleRock, you'll be defending your world title against Ric Flair in the biggest AWA match ever. Hulk, I'm a little concerned about your condition. Hogan: Well you know something Killer Ken, I'm out here to promise you and all my Hulkamaniacs that Hulk Hogan will be at WrestleRock no matter what! I don't care if I have to wrestle Ric Flair on one leg! If that's what I have to do, then brother I'll do it because I have the power of Hulkamania behind me, the strongest power in the universe! Boos as Ric Flair, Arn Anderson and Larry Zbyszko slowly enter the ring. Resnick: Whoa, ok, hold on, I don't want any more trouble out here. Flair: As long as Hogan keeps his mouth shut, there wont be any trouble. (Flair steps closer and looks right into Hogan's eyes) Do you know how long I've waited for this match, big man? For years, all I've heard was the name Hulk Hogan. Well, look at the almighty Hulk Hogan now. Hobbling around like a pathetic broken down man. You've got a taste of the Nature Boy and now I just have one question for you. Whatcha gonna do Hogan, when Ric Flair runs wild on you! WOOOOO! Hogan looks down, then looks at all his cheering fans. Hogan: (sadly nods) Well Ric, I guess I just have one thing to say. Hogan throws a crutch down and breaks the other one over his knee!!!! The Rock n Roll Express hit the ring and attack the Enforcers! The fans are going wild as Hogan starts punching away on Flair! RnR stereo dropkick the Enforcers out of the ring! Hogan pounds away and swings Flair to the ropes. Hogan goes for the big boot, but Flair grabs the ropes and slides out of the ring. RnR are pumping their fists as the Enforcers stumble around. Flair is red faced and furious. Hogan grabs the mic Hogan: The question is, whatcha gonna do Ric Flair, when Hulkamania runs wild on you at WrestleRock!!! Hogan rips off his shirt and flexes as the Enforcers guide a very pissed off Flair out of there. Hogan and RnR celebrate and hold up the AWA world titles as the show ends.
  18. I'm really into the Genius/Silver King feud. This promo reminds us that another showdown is coming Hmmmmmm, Rude seems to be working an elaborate plan to get a world title rematch. Cool seeing Kevin's coronation. I liked the added detail of him being a little uncomfortable. To top it off, you did a great job setting up the first program for the crown. A Fantastics/Bees title program around the loop would make for a hot summer in the WWF Murdoch puts people down with that brainbuster. Brown delivers some bad news to Slick and Nailz. This match will be a fight! Who will shut the Rougeaus up?? I think Manny could pull off a fun title match with Warrior. The Ultimate Warrior vs. The Raging Bull for the WWF world title. That just sells itself Berzerker keeps the heat going on his feud with Tito.
  19. Fuller and Titan's promos get us pumped up for the show Damn! Kabuki and Vampire against the Moondogs? Oler better bring in extra security for that one Ole's a smart booker. He not only makes the Simpson, Armstrong/Funks match a big deal but makes Fire on the Mountain a must see event. The man just sold a ton of tickets with simple words. I have to say, Well Dunn has some guts. Cant wait to watch the Kongs and Harris bros fight it out for a title shot. Gilbert sends in Payne to do the dirty work. It's great seeing Maxx back in the game. Not sure Champion feels the same. LOL, fun segment with Kaz and Bruno. I think Kaz might regret that push. I can only imagine who Bruno's bringing in. Demon and Wellington give the fans an instant classic. It's a reminder that even with all the craziness, the fans can still appreciate a solid and hard working wrestling match. Bullet denies Callis a shot but welcomes a fight. A win by Callis just might give him that title shot. I think Bob better watch his back. WOW! Fuller might've gotten the win but Titan gets over in a big way tonight! Fantastic ending It's so much fun reading your shows. I like that you have the freedom of the free agency list. We never know who's going to show up. This really is a true territory. I sure hope SMW sticks around for a long time.
  20. It was Luger! It was Luger the entire time! WOW! Didn't see that coming! Luger vs. Sting will be WCW's money making match of the year. No doubt about it, Luger and Sting is the headliner but I love that WCW has a lot of other hot programs going on like the Rockers/RWS and Steamboat/Paul E.
  21. Great job with the Preview show. This gets us all caught up and pumped for the Great American Stampede.
  22. The Thunder Dragons are quite the dynamic duo Watch out, the Sinister is making a come back The Peach Patrol is riding high Another faction on the move is the League of Gentlemen Looks like Bigelow and Awesome is the next big feud. These guys are going to tear it up Cow Palace If it's not the Patrol, it's the Citadel. Rough week for the Blondes. Since going solo, Kawada has been unstoppable If Piper and Hart are your teammates and you score the fall, that's a big deal. No doubt about it, Iron and Steel are ready for their shot Speaking of shots, I'm so ready for a Martel/Dibiase rematch. Hold on, Windham reminds everybody that he's still a serious contender Fresno The Midnights and Money Train break even. I'm thinking we're going to get some hot tag matches on the loop soon. Could Regal be the one to finally slay the monster The Peach Patrol ran over everybody this weekend Scorpio takes Barr the distance as the LHW division remains hotter than ever Condrey's incredible run continues

  24. AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 6-20-90 The show opens in a banquet hall. There's a long table with a podium in the middle. Behind is a huge WrestleRock 90 banner. AWA World Champ Hulk Hogan sits with his AWA world title in front of him. Ric Flair is sitting on the other side of the podium. AWA owner Verne Gagne, C.O.O. Gerry Morrow, Brenda Britton and various members of the AWA committee are also seated at the table. Extra security is on hand. A ton of press fills up the hall. Special WrestleRock promoter, Don King stands at the podium. King: Welcome everybody to this very special press conference. At WrestleRock, the AWA will bring to you the grandest and most epic blockbuster main event wrestling has ever seen. Hulk Hogan will defend the AWA world title against Ric Flair. I can feel the electricity in the air! Now I'll turn the time over for questions. The floor is now yours. A reporter asks Hogan about his leg and if he'll be 100% at WrestleRock. Hogan: No question about it brother! I've been training harder than ever and I promised all my Hulkamaniacs that Hulk Hogan would make it to WrestleRock and defend the AWA world title. If Ric Flair thinks he has the upper hand on me, he better think again. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about that cowardly attack. I can say this, it's only motivated me to get in the best shape of my life. A reporter asks Flair why him, Arn Anderson and Larry Zbyszko attacked Hogan in the cage. Flair: I've never kept it a secret that I'm the dirtiest player in the game and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to win the world title. That's how much passion I have for this industry. Can Hulk Hogan say the same? He likes to take time off and make movies. He likes to rub shoulders with Hollywood's elite. Me, I live, sleep and eat pro wrestling. Hogan needed a reminder on who he's getting in the ring with at WrestleRock. I'm Ric Flair, the greatest ever to walk that immortal aisle. WOOOOO! Hogan: What Hulkamania did was put pro wrestling on the map. Hulkamania made this sport a global phenomenon and I'm proud of that. But my proudest moment will be at WrestleRock when I defeat the so called greatest of all time in front of a worldwide audience. I've held the AWA world title for a year and Hulkamania is running wild and is stronger than ever brother! Flair stands up and takes off his sunglasses. Hogan stands up as well. They're nose to nose as security gets closer. Flair: (smirks) Do you really think you can beat me? Flair slaps Hogan! Hogan comes back and pushes Flair! Security swarm and break them up. Arn Anderson and Larry Zbyszko jump up there and attack Hogan. Flair joins in. Everybody falls to the ground. Security is trying to break it up as Flair, Arn and Zbyszko take shots at Hogan. The TV show starts Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. Well, you just saw the WrestleRock press conference that took place earlier this week. I can tell you that after that melee, Hulk Hogan was limping and needed assistance walking out of there. I haven't received word on the extent of Hogan's injury but I can tell you that Hogan will be here next week to address the situation. I've also been told that Ric Flair will be here next week as well. I've also been told that AWA C.O.O. Gerry Morrow has added a stipulation to the world title bout. He says that if Arn Anderson and Larry Zbyszko interfere in any way, they will be banned from the AWA. I think that's a great decision. Ok lets get to the ring. 'The Mighty Yankee' Steve Disalvo and The Power Twins vs. Neil Jordan, Sam Smith and Clay Tomas The Power Twins double slam Smith as Disalvo follows with a Fallaway Slam for the win. Disalvo and the Twins cut a fired up promo and say Storm and the Destruction Crew wont be able to handle what they bring to WrestleRock. Commercial Break Good Vibrations w/The Vin Man vs. Carl Kellerman and Rance Moore Vinnie cheers as Beach executes a vertical suplex and Jammer follows with the California Splash for the win. Vinnie cuts a promo and says WrestleRock will be the ultimate showcase for Good Vibrations and their opponents the Swords of Light are out of their depth. YEA! Commercial Break Jimmy 'The Stud' Golden vs. Todd Rooney Golden's fists are taped as he pounds away on his opponent. Golden finishes things off with a piledriver. Golden starts throwing jabs in the air. The fans cheer as Leo Burke hits the ring with taped fists! Golden turns around as Burke floors him with a punch. Burke grabs Golden's hair and starts pounding away. Burke throws Golden's head down and pumps his fists to the cheering fans. Good call making Randall Tex Cobb the special ref for their taped fist match at WrestleRock. I think he's the only one that can officiate these guys. Commercial Break We see King Kahlua on a beach at nighttime. He's blowing fire. He raises his arms out at the ocean. Kahlua: Kahlua's time is here! David Sammartino knows he cannot stop me. At WrestleRock, the TV title will come home to me and right here will be the sight of a ceremony fit for a King and a champion. Austin Idol and The Starrs are standing in front of a WrestleRock banner Idol: Just when you thought it was safe to get back into the ring, the ALL-STARS have returned! That's right, we'rrrrrrrrrre back darling and ready to re debut at WrestleRock when we water down those fire flamed fools. Bobby Blaze and The Takano Dragons are standing in front of an animated fire. Blaze: Austin Idol and the Starrs thought they pulled a fast one on me. No way Idol! As you can see, I've got myself a fired up team backing me up. The heat's coming to WrestleRock! Commercial Break Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Harold Bannister Jumbo just annihilates his opponent and finishes him off with a powerbomb. Jumbo has a cold look in his eyes. He hoists Bannister up and gives him another powerbomb! Jumbo starts stomping down on Bannister, hoists him up and gives him a third powerbomb!!! Jumbo stares into the camera and yells "Muraco!" Poor Harold Bannister is stretchered out. Commercial Break Cactus Jack vs. Marvin Jones Jack wins the match with a double arm DDT! Nelson: Ok Cactus. At WrestleRock, it's you and Buzz Sawyer in a falls count anywhere match. You two have been in the most bloodiest and violent matches I've ever seen. I must bring this up. You've yet to defeat him. What makes this match different. Jack: Larry Nelson, if at first you don't succeed, try and try and try again. I've Nelson: LOOK OUT! Buzz Sawyer attacks Cactus Jack! Sawyer and Jack just start brawling all over the place. They tumble over the guardrail and fight into the crowd. Prelim wrestlers and security run out and try to stop this madness. Will the Metrodome be big enough for these two??? Commercial Break Mike Graham vs. Vic Dutro Graham once again shows off his wrestling expertise and wins the match with a cradle. Nelson: (holds up a piece of paper) Mike, this is your open contract for WrestleRock and so far nobody has signed to face you. Graham: Doesn't surprise me one bit. Everybody knows they would be embarrassed and humiliated if they wrestled me at WrestleRock. I have to say, I am a tad bit disappointed but then again I really can't blame anyone for not wanting to wrestle me. The fans cheer as RON GARVIN approaches. Garvin: You want an opponent at WrestleRock. I'll wrestle you. Garvin takes the contract and signs it. Garvin walks away as the fans cheer. Nelson: (smiling) How bout it Mike? Graham: Well, it looks like I'm going to have to give that brawler a real wrestling lesson at WrestleRock. Commercial Break Nelson: Fans, with me now is the AWA International Champ Terry Taylor. Terry, you decided to keep your WrestleRock opponent a secret. I'm not sure that's such a good idea. Taylor: Well, that's why I'm a champion and you're not. You know, I've heard that people are a little upset that I didn't want my opponent revealed. Everybody wants to know who it is. Let me clue all of you little chickens in on something. It doesn't matter who my opponent is. At WrestleRock, you all are going to see the same result. The Red Rooster getting his hand raised, holding the title high and ending it with a pat on the back. YES! I'm just that good. No wait, I'm just that great! The Red Rooster runs this henhouse and WrestleRock will be a strong reminder. Rooster! Taylor slicks back his ponytail and struts away. Commercial Break Latin Desire vs. The Jive Tones w/Tiger Conway Jr. The fans get a nice 5 minute fast paced match until things get crazy and a pier six brawl happens. Both teams keep fighting as the Ref signals for the double DQ. Commercial Break Nelson: Before we go, I wanted to get in a quick word with the AWA National tag team champs, the Mavericks. Guys, at WrestleRock, you'll be defending your titles in a three way match. You just got another glimpse of your opponents. How are you preparing for this. Embry: We know both teams well and we're finally going to put an end to all this at WrestleRock! The Jive Tones storm out. Conway: You know those titles belong to the Jive Tones and... Latin Desire run out and attack the Jive Tones. Both teams fight into the Mavericks and once again all three teams are going at it as the show ends.
  25. Berzerker's countout wins added so much to his character. It was so unique. King Kevin, that has a great ring to it. I'm glad the Silver King/Genius feud is still going strong Only Heenan could come up with a protest like that. I'm excited for a Bees reign. After separate promos, I'm thinking a Tugboat/Big Cat program could be a fun hoss fight. If Rude says it was an accident, ok, I'll believe him LOL. But will Haku? Badd Co with a big win. I would like to see them go another round with the Bees and this time in championship bouts. That's money. Ranger Ross could get some buzz by feuding with Sheiky baby Earthquake remains a threat Manny takes down Tugboat. Manny could be a fun one off with the Warrior.
