  1. Haha a Tokyo Dome return match! Oh, but this one's pretty good. I really have no problem with these WWF style main events. Not my favorite style by any means, but they totally deliver what the people want to see, with the exception of the DQ finish here. also, Ted forcing the kids out of the pool, so cool.
  2. Never seen the Undertaker debut, the closeup on his face looked really cool. Decent enough squash on his part, he's young, but pretty good. Bret vs Dibiase is really solid, Bret looks good here and this might be my favorite performance from him this year.
  3. I'm never going to complain about a Lawler vs Funk match, but I agree, the Gilbert match was better. This felt kind of like an exhibition, which puts it behind the Gilbert match for me.
  4. Another Super Porky match and I get what the hype is about him. He's awesome. Him vs Hamada was the standout part for me.
  5. Hmm I didn't really care for this one. I'm not very familiar with the joshi women at this point, so I don't have much connection to the wrestlers themselves, and this felt pretty average to me. Nothing bad really, just one that's kind of "there."
  6. Paul E. is really good here, and this is another sleazy WCW skit, and production is always an issue with this company, but this wasn't too bad. It came off like a Survival Insurance commercial actually.
  7. The second of the series, which is cut short. Not as good as the first match, but works well in the larger story, as we're 2 for 2 on time limit draws.
  8. This is one of my absolute favorite style of matches, the TV title match. This was a good stiff match, just about a perfect match for TV. Arn and Terry Taylor had a series of matches in a row, and I'm seeing now that the other ones are on here. Awesome, this is right up my alley.
  9. This is my second favorite lucha match of the year. This was laid out really clear for someone like me and I was able to follow each fall and the progression of the match throughout the change in styles. Pirata Morgan really impressed me here, this was a great match. The brawling in the third fall was especially great, really gritty feeling.
  10. Pretty unreal match. The lights going out in had me wondering if that was part of the match or what, what a wild scene. This feels totally unhinged, the leg stuff was brutal, the weapons flying around, a nunchuck (!) and it wasn't just mindless violence for it's own sake, there was a solid story as well, the classic vet vs upstart. This was crazy.
  11. I'm always interested to watch Muto wrestle, just to see how hard he's working, and if I can tell the difference. He looked good here, everyone did, and Hase was the standout here of course. Like everyone else said, this was red hot and fast paced, hard hitting action. Like the real essence of exciting pro wrestling. Awesome.
  12. I really like the idea of wrestling souvenirs hatching from the egg. It's the beginning of the holiday season, everyone is feeling giving, why not hatch an egg full of treats for some special fans?
  13. This isn't that bad of a match really. Sting's ramp lariat is huge. I think Sting gives a good performance in the match, he works really hard and makes Sid look huge, but has fire and good offense to not look weak. The finish is just very confusing looking on TV, due to production mistakes.
  14. This whole match is good. Better than the Starrcade one, but not by much. Luger and Hansen worked well together, Luger was able to bump and sell well for Hansen and Hansen was surprisingly giving.
  15. Ah one of the classic WCW dingus segments. Magic boxes and tricks aside, it's so stupid that this makes the Sid match feel like such an afterthought. That could have been a big match but this stuff really hurts everyone and everything, including the viewer!
  16. Standard Horsemen promo, emphasizing everyone's mission tonight. No problem with that, I'll take stock Horsemen promos all day long.
  17. This version of Stan Hansen kind of undercuts the dangerous aspect of his character. He's able to convey how out of control he is, but the lack of seriousness does a disservice to him.
  18. Recap of the contract signing which was a good segment and the Nasties do a good job of putting over the match. This actually improves the quality of the match, as it really puts it into the right context, and that's the whole point of all this anyway, so mission accomplished.
  19. This is a mess. The Renegade Warriors come into frame, but only 2 of 3, and we never really find out who the 3rd one is. Totally lame and tasteless, and we must not forget that the Renegade Warriors are very terrible.
  20. The USWA music videos have all been pretty effective and the music choices are all good too, nice video here.
  21. This kind of feels like it's playing off of that piece earlier in the yearbook, where it was Lawler talking about life on the road, maybe with Connie Chung or someone? Anyway, I would love to see a comprehensive list of all the wrestling hotlines ever. I imagine someone has made one.
  22. This is cheesy, but not overly cheesy for what it is, and actually a pretty good video for WCW. Even a decent celebrity endorsement from Elvira. They could have just as easily had Ken Osmond or Jason Hervey but they did the right thing here. On another note, my mom used to rent Elvira Mistress of the Dark for me and my sister to watch on Halloween, like several years in a row when I was little. Very bizarre choice, since my mom was pretty strict with what we were allowed to watch.
  23. Man Captain Lou showing us the goods here. Super funny.
