I really enjoy the Fugi Clan and hope to see them on top. Good heel stables are so fun to follow. -
Great use of the freelancers here. You are getting a lot out of names that might not be as household as the rest of the rosters but I think that proves how interesting the sport of wrestling is. Who ever is the top heel and face in a territory will get the heat or the cheers like they are Andre the Giant if developed correctly and you are doing just that. Ron Starr, Brian Adias and others are becoming wrestling stars here and it is a great read from week to week.
-
Great show! 11 big matches is a huge treat for the fans. Like the story lines you write instead of move to move as I sometimes do.
-
A handshake with Hogan and Piper? Makes me really excited to see what is next.
-
Enjoyed the interviews here a lot. From Price Alofa Fatu to Frenchy and Mad Dog. They did a great job hyping up your angles. The angle of Quebec vs the Communists is great for 1985. I also loved the card in Burlington. Flair-Garvin would be great one to see.

Your roster seems to be getting better and better. So much young talent that is set to take over the sport. It will be fun to watch and see who you place as the leader here.

5/12/1985: WTBS 9:05-10:05 TULSA, OKLAHOMA UWF UNIFIED WORLD CHAMPION: DUSTY RHODES NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPION: HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN UWF WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE ROAD WARRIOIRS UWF WORLD 6 MAN CHAMPIONS: KEVIN VON ERICH, STAN HANSEN & BLACKJACK MULLIGAN UWF WORLD TV CHAMPION: RUSHER KIMURA Hello again everybody. Welcome to UWF & Mid-South Wrestling from Tulsa, Oklahoma and the Tulsa Convention Center here on WTBS. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is the “Big Cat” Ernie Ladd. Jim Ross and Ernie Ladd both hype up last week’s David Von Erich Memorial and Jim Ross welcomes in the new UFW Unified World Champion….. Dusty Rhodes Dusty Rhodes begins with how great it is to be the first ever UWF Unified World Champion and how wonderful it was to take out both Jerry Lawler and Austin Idol on the same night. All of a sudden Skandar Akbar comes out and interrupts the interview. Skandar Akbar: Dusty…. Dusty Rhodes! Your days as UWF Champion have just begun and they are already numbered. It doesn’t matter which of my Sheiks gets the next title shot but it will be the end of you! Dusty Rhodes: Akbar, watch your mouth and get out of my face or else it will be the end of…. WHAM! Sneak attack by Hacksaw Reed and all Hell breaks loose. Reed is tough when you know he is coming but he Pearl Harbors you, you got no chance. Dusty takes it pretty good for a few minutes here until JYD and Hacksaw Duggan come to his aid. As we get ready for break, Ernie Ladd reminds a beaten American Dream what it is like when you are on top of the mountain… Everyone is coming to toss your behind off that mountain! ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- Before our next bout, Jim Ross really hypes up tonight’s show and announces a Main Event for the ages! It will be a UWF Tag Team Title Rematch between The Road Warriors and The Perfect Alliance. MATCH: TERRY GORDY VS RON SEXTON A quick beating here by Gordy as the end came after he connected with a piledriver! Gordy goes over to the interview desk where he is congratulated for his win in the steel cage against Dr. Death. Gordy is full of emotion and he says it felt good to beat Williams but he owes a lot of that victory to his old brother, Michael Hayes. If he didn’t come out and take care of Eric Embry and Buddy Landell he would have been in a world of trouble. Ross goes on to ask what he makes of the Rat Pack coming out to help Dr. Death and Gordy is not surprised. “Steve Williams is nothing but a rat so it makes perfect sense he would join the Rat Pack!” All of a sudden the entire Rat Pack (Ted Dibiase, Steve Williams, Eric Embry, and Buddy Landell) comes out. Dibiase begins by saying that they are called the Rat Pack because the stick together and not because of the dirty, disgusting rodent. It seems like Gordy is in some trouble here but all of a sudden the crowd pops. It is Michael Hayes and Buddy Jack Roberts strutting out. Hayes is strutting like only Hayes can do and Buddy Roberts is just ready to throw down! Michael Hayes: Well, well well. Once a Freebird always a Freebird. Blood is thicker than water and trust me baby! We are family. Michael Hayes and Terry Gordy may have had some wild brawls in our day but that happens with families. But nobody, and I mean nobody is going to harm my family! If you all want to go to Bad Street we can go right now daddy o! Ted Dibiase: Well I think you best watch your mouth. It is still our 4 against your 3 and that might make you feel like Hell on Bad Street. Terry Gordy: We got no problem taking you on right here and now but we thought it might be best to add another Freebird to the mix and ya’ll rats better run! Hacksaw Jim Duggan comes running out swinging his mighty 2 x 4 and the Rat Pack scatter. Jim Duggan says he would join just about any group to go after the Rat Pack but he is truly thrilled to be an honorary member of the Freebirds! They each vow to watch each other’s backs from here on out. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MATCH: JYD VS FIDEL SIERRA A nice match here as Sierra does a good job of getting some heat and JYD pumps them through the roof with his “Another One Bites the Dust. The end came after about 5 minutes with a Big Thump. (POWERSLAM) JYD does a little howling at the moon in his post-match interview where Jim Ross, to the dismay of Ernie Ladd, asks the Dog to stay for the next match. MATCH: CHRIS BENOIT VS RIP MORGN Jonathan Boyd escorts his fellow Kiwi Sheepherder to the ring but he could not stay out of the action. He is either tripping the young Benoit or getting in a sneaky knee to the gut when the action spilled out onto the floor. The match turned into a basic handicap match as the Sheepherders just kept the poor ref running in circles. Boyd actually dropped Benoit across the steel barricade and that is when JYD had seen enough. JYD rushed to the ring and went nuts. He basically took care of both Sheepherders by himself. Once heels ran for cover, we see a grateful Chris Benoit shake the hand of the Dog. Jim Ross wonders if this could be the start of a new alliance while Ernie Ladd really hoped it wouldn’t be as he had such high hopes for the young Benoit. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MAIN EVENT UWF WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH THE ROAD WARRIORS with PAUL ELLERING VS THE PERFECT ALLIANCE with BABY DOLL (ARN ANDERSON & BOBBY EATON) Baby Doll comes out to the interview desk saying she needs more time as she doesn’t know where Beautiful Bobby is. Paul Ellering comes to the interview desk and is sick and tired of her stalling and he says this is just another one of the scams that the Perfect Alliance has been running around here for too long. Ellering demands that Cowboy Bill Watts come out and force this match to start or else have the Perfect Alliance forfeit their title shot. Watts does come out and agrees with Ellering. He demands that Arn Anderson start the match and if Eaton shows up he can then join in. As the match gets started you can almost feel sorry for Arn Anderson. He is being beaten from pillar to post and the end comes quickly. Animal hoisted up Arn as Hawk came diving off the top rope with a nasty clothesline. The fans are still unsure of what to make of the Road Warriors but they are in awe of their power and ability. The Road Warriors leave the ring and Arn is face down in obvious trouble. Baby Doll is at his side trying to help him when all of a sudden we here that funky sound and the fans wonder could it be….. Yes it is!! Jim Cornett is making his way to the ring with Lover Boy Denis Condrey and…. Beautiful Bobby. He walks right up to Baby Doll and says that Eaton could no longer team with this loser who is face down in the ring right now and that she is now in the presence of the greatest tag team in the world today…. THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS. Jim Cornette: Oh and by the way, Ms. Two Tons of Mascara…. Beautiful Bobby Eaton has told me to tell you that your services are no longer needed. SLAP! Baby Doll hauls off and smacks Cornette right across the face and the show ends with Cornette yelling about how he is going to have his mother call her lawyers and he is going to sue her for everything he has. Jim Ross: So long from Tulsa!

USWA WRESTLING: 5/11/1985: WTBS 9:05-10:05 DALLAS, TEXAS The show begins with a short video clip of the David VonErich Memorial Parade of Champions show from last week’s event at the Cotton Bowl. We see Kevin VonErich, Blackjack Mulligan and Stan Hansen win the UWF World 6 Man Title, Kerry Von Erich defeat Jimmy Garvin to retain the USWA Title and Dusty Rhodes defeat Jerry Lawler and Austin Idol to become the first ever UWF Unified World Champion. “Yello again everybody. Welcome to USWA Wrestling, a UWF Promotion, from the world’s most famous wrestling arena, The Sportatorium in downtown Dallas, Texas. I am Lance Russell and along with “Playboy” Gary Hart. We have a real busy show for you and let’s get right to the ring. In fact, it is with the Dingo Warrior; one of the many wrestlers under the tutelage of my partner. Gary Hart: Not one of, the #1! MATCH: DINGO WARRIOR VS MIKE GRAHAM Even though Graham has the experience and the technical skill, he just can’t match the power of Dingo. Dingo is still a bit stiff but Graham does a good job of selling and bumping here. The end came with a Running Warrior Smash (Powerbomb) after about 4 minutes. Gary Hart comes back to the interview desk with his man and begins to sing his praises. He is demanding respect and title shots from Fritz when all of a sudden Jimmy Superfly Snuka comes out. Jimmy Snuka: (talking really slow and struggling a bit with the language) I am out a few weeks and you call this man with a child’s mask on your #1 guy? He is nothing compared to the Superfly! Gary Hart tries to calm the situation down but Snuka just throws his arms up and goes to walk away. WHAM! Dingo attacks from behind and with the Pearl Harbor attack, he is able to really give it to Snuka. During the savage beating on the savage, Hart is going nuts egging Dingo on. He loves what he sees and it is obvious that he truly does believe that Dingo is his #1 man. After a few minutes of this; Hart and Dingo walk off set and Lance takes us to break. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- Lance Russell: What in the world was that all about Gary Hart? Gary Hart: That was business taking care of business. Snuka pretends to be hurt, says he leg is bothering him and leaves me high and dry for a month and then wants us to bow down to at his return. Well that is not how this works. Snuka may be a bad man but he has just gotten the wrath of the baddest man I have ever seen. Snuka, I will no longer need your services and if you are too stupid to understand this; listen closely. You are FIRED! Lance Russell: Come on Hart. Have you no loyalty? Snuka gave you his all. I mean I don’t respect some of the things he did but he was truly awesome. Now, you throw him away like yesterday’s trash because you don’t believe he was really hurt. Gary Hart: I am done talking about my business with you. Next topic. Lance Russell: Ok than. Let’s discuss the David VonErich Parade of Champions from the Cotton Bowl last week. What an event it was and we saw the Big Boys from Texas rise to the top. Kevin Von Erich, Mulligan. Hansen, Kerry VonErich all coming out on top and that is not even including the American Dream from West Texas winning the Unified World Title! Gary Hart: Well did you expect anything different with Fritz around. I mean the last ref who stood up to him was Bronco Lubich and he receive a 90 day suspension. The refs have no choice but give fast counts and bend the rules for his spoiled brats; I mean sons. Lance Russell: Come on now Gary! Enough is enough. The VonErichs performed wonderfully this week and deserve respect instead of you constantly demeaning them. Gary Hart: Well I just call it the way I see it and I see the truth! This brings Fritz out and he is fuming. Fritz Von Erich: Well this is not a surprise. Gary Hart is once again going against my family. The only problem is he is telling lie after lie. I hope my boys do well but this is wrestling and once they are inside that ring everything is on the up and up. I am so proud of their success but it comes from hard work and dedication. Gary Hart: Wow! You really sound like you belief what you are saying. That takes hard work. That takes dedication. To be able to keep a straight face while constantly lying about what is happening. Fritz VonErich: Hart, I think you just like to hear yourself talk. I promise each and everyone one of you watching today two things. First, my boys will never get special treatment and number 2, I will always do what is best for this company and what is best for this company right now is to remove you from this studio right now! Gary Hart: So like Lubich, I am being suspended for standing up to you and saying the truth. Fritz Von Erich: NO, you are not being suspended like Bronco Lubich. You are being fired immediately. When we come back from break, Lance Russell will be the only announcer. You will be replaced within the week. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- Lance Russell: Well folks! You heard it from the boss. I am by myself this evening and that is just fine by me. Playboy Gary Hart and his opinions can wear on you. Let’s get back to the ring where we have the new UWF World TV Champion in the studio tonight. MATCH: UWF WORLD TV TITLE MATCH RUSHER KIMURA VS BRETT WAYBE SAWYER We get a few athletic moments from Sawyer but this is pretty much a showcase for the new champion he puts down Sawyer after a Running Lariat which followed up his patented throat slashing sign. He goes over to the interview desk where he basically starts screaming in Japanese. The only words that the audience understood were Americans which were followed by a gigantic gob of spit! MATCH: TOMMY “WILDFIRE” RICH VS RANDY BARBER A total squash match here where Rich comes out to mostly boos from the crowd. It doesn’t seem to bother him one bit as he is more “Wildfire” then normal. He goes right to the rough stuff and completely overwhelms Barber. The end comes after Rich followed up a knee to the gut with a Lou These Press. Rich is joined by the rest of the Tennessee Volunteer Army (Jerry Lawler, Eddie Gilbert and Honky Tonk Wayne Ferris) at the interview desk. Lawler is really upset and claims that Dusty Rhodes cheated in their Unified Title Match and he is demanding a rematch while Rich, Gilbert and Honky Tonk are demanding a shot at the 6 man titles held by Kevin Von Erich, Blackjack Mulligan and Stan Hansen. It seems its war on wrestlers from Texas. Jerry Lawler leaves us with a little joke here to really get the fans going. Jerry Lawler: Hey Lance, do you know the difference between a Texas Zoo and a zoo in the rest of America? In American’s zoos, husbands go with their wives. In a Texas zoo, husbands go to visit their wives! Lance Russell: On come on Jerry, that will be enough of that! ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MAIN EVENT: USWA HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE KERRY VON ERICH with PRECIOUS VS JIMMY GARVIN with NANNY SIMPSON Unfortunately we only have a few minutes for this match as some much has gone on tonight. The match was both inside and outside. Precious hauled off a few times on Nanny while Kerry was having a good night against Garvin. As the show comes to an end, we see Rip Rodgers come out and attack Kerry. This lead to a DQ but allowed Garvin and Rodgers to end the show with the upper hand. Lance Russell: What a night this has been. So long from Dallas, Texas.

I like the fact that there are so many quality heels coming after Hogan. You hit Canada with some great matches and it will be interesting if the NWA can fire back.

Good point! Martel & Flair would be an instant classic
-
Sorry, haven't commented in a few shows. The interview with Ron Garvin was great and hypes up a nice new angle in just a few minutes time. Good work! Like the idea of the province war starting! Enjoy seeing the Sheepherders starting to rise and maybe hold the belts as the Rougues focus on other things like defending Quebec. One small thing.... If Sika can go 67 minutes against the Nature Boy, I think Martel, who is one of the faces for Lutte could get more then 15.
-
Love that type of match. It allows for almost anything. You can play angles, start feuds, mix styles! What ever you want is all in one match.

WOW! So much going on here! Valiant out, Blassie in, Brad over Hercules, a loser -leave town match set up for next week but I think my favorite part was the promo by Adrian Street. Without a doubt my favorite read! I just love Southern Wrastlin and you do it perfectly. Idol is so hot right now that all eyes are on Alabama! Birmingham is turning into the wrestling capital and Apter is going to buy season tickets to the Boutwell Aud! -
WOW! What a show from Montreal. The fans must be in bars debating if it will be a WWF or Lutte town! I must say that I was rooting for a three way tie or a win by the Harts but that is what made this really cool. The fact that I was actually rooting means you had us sucked in and that is what is key to a great show.

I thought the opening to the show at the Boutwell was very interesting. Was their really a scheduling conflict or was this just a way to get people to pay twice; even if it was at a reduced price! As for the actually wrestling portion..... spot on as always. A perfect Southern Wrastlin Promotion! Hercules is rising into a top heel here! Between him and Austin Idol, the baby faces are going to have their hands full! -

Love the baby face run in by TA. That's when you now a feud is white hot! I like that Many Fernandez is the new Mid-Atlantic Champ. I always viewed the Animal as a crazy lunatic who can be just as good without a belt. Good work as always! -
UWF RUMORS: It seems that Jerry Jarrett is learning the hard way that Fritz VonErich is very hard to work with. It seems that Fritz is at it again and this time he is playing with the UWF Titles. Since the UWF Parade of Champions was in Dallas and was a memorial for David VonErich, both Jerry Jarrett and Cowboy Bill Watts allowed Fritz to determine which of his sons would leave Dallas with a title. Both Kevin and Kerry had title matches that evening; Kerry VonErich-Jimmy Garvin match while Kevin was in the 6 Man match between the Sheiks and Kevin VonErich, Stan Hansen and Blackjack Mulligan. It seems that Fritz has some sort of misunderstanding and both his boys left with the belts. Watts was heard telling Jarrett an "I told ya so" but nobody has a real solution to the problem. USWA is a 50/50 split between VonErich and Jarrett. VonErich runs the Texas side of the promotion while Jarrett runs the Tennessee side. Watts also knows he can ill afford to lose the USWA and its roster is pretty stacked. The easy solution would be to bring in a neutral promoter to run USWA but would that allow certain wrestlers to void their contracts? Many wrestlers are still loyal to VonErich while others are siding with Jarrett. It seems to be a Texas-Tennessee divide! One name that has come up is Paul Boesch. His Houston wrestling promotion has always used talent from both and he might be the neutral voice that is needed. The question is will it be a one time event to give power to either Fritz or Jarrett; a sort of BORDER WARS type thing. There is no way Boesch has time to run both Texas and Tennessee long term. Do both VonErich and Jarrett trust Boesch enough to do this? What would Boesch want in return. We will all have to wait and see but this could draw record crowds in the Sam Houston Coliseum! Speaking of contracts.... what is the UWF to do now that their 6 Man World Title is now in the hands of a wrestler without a UWF contract... one Stan "The Lariat" Hansen.

THE COTTON BOWL DALLAS, TEXAS 5/4/1985: WTBS THE DAVID VON ERICH MEMORIAL PARADE OF CHAMPIONS “Hello again everybody. Welcome to UWF Wrestling and DALLAS, TEXAS. We are coming to you live on WTBS from the world famous Cotton Bowl. I am Jim Ross along with Ernie Ladd. What a night it is going to be. We have 8 titles matches including the crowning of the first ever UWF Unified World Heavyweight Champion. All of these and more. Let’s not forget about the Steel Cage Match between Terry Gory and Dr. Death Steve Williams. Let’s get this jammed back night started! CONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING TAG TITLE MATCH (TITLES VS MASKS) JIMMY GOLDEN & ROBERT FULLER VS THE SUPER DESTROYERS Now here is some Southern Wrastlin at its best. Four men who like to duke it out are at each other from the get go. Body Slams, Haymakers, and some boot stompin here as somehow the champs survive. The end came with a little Bonzo Gonzo with all four men in the ring as Jimmy Golden was able to piledrive Super Destroyer #1 for the win. Jim Ross is really excited as he is wondering who the Super Destroyers really are. Golden and Fuller are allowed here to do the unmasking and they time it perfectly where each mask comes off at the exact same time. Jim Ross: Oh Bawh Gawd….. You won’t believe this. The Super Destroyers are none other than Bill and Scott Irwin. Business is about to get real nasty in the CCW Tag Team Division! __________________________________________________________________________ USWA WORLD TV TITLE MATCH: BILLY JACK HAYNES VS RUSHER KIMURA A typical power vs power match here as both men connected with some huge moves. Unfortunately for the champ, Kimura was just a bit more technically sound and a little bit quicker with the nasty stuff. The end came after Billy Jack was able to force Kimura back into the corner bit when he went to break, Kimura grabbed him by the back of the head and nailed him with a nasty headbutt right to the nose. BJ backed up as Rusher ran the ropes and came off with a nasty running lariat. Kimura turns to the fans and gives his Throat Slashing Sign. Kimura then calls for the Neckbreaker and Jim Ross let’s everyone know that if he connects with this, we will have a new UWF World TV Champion. Well connect he did, and we have our first title change of the night. _________________________________________________________________________ CONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING TITLE MATCH MR. OLYMPIA VS THE GREAT KABUKI This bout goes about 12 minutes and we see a nice back and forth match. Mr. Olympia uses some good mat skills here while Kabuki goes right to the chops and nerve holds. Eventually we get a nice brawl. Olympia gains control at about the 10 minute mark and has Kabuki in some trouble. The masked Mr. Olympia rushes in a little too quickly and Kabuki resorts to some dirty tactics here with a Martial Arts chop right to the throat. The ref goes to check on the champion but Kabuki goes into his mysterious spin and then comes right at Mr. Olympia. Without hesitation, Kabuki sprays the green mist right into the eyes of Mr. Olympia and the ref immediately calls for the bell and DQ’s Kabuki. Mr. Olympia is rolling around on the floor in agony as Kabuki threatens more martial arts. Somehow the ref restores order as Jim Ross is sure that we have not seen the last of this big feud! __________________________________________________________________________ UWF World Tag Team Title Match THE PERFECT ALLIANCE (Arn Anderson & Bobby Eaton) with Baby Doll VS THE ROAD WARRIORS with PAUL ELLERING Prior to the match Baby Doll walks right up to Paul Ellering and smacks him across the face. She seems to be the only one who is not afraid. Arn and Eaton play the scared game really well here as they cower behind the ref, jump in and out of the ring and actually go on their knees and beg for mercy. It didn’t matter as once the Road Warriors caught them it was violence times 10. Eventually Baby Doll was able to distract the ref and Arn caught Hawk with a low blow. With Hawk in trouble, Arm lifted him up and connected with a Spine Buster. He quickly tags in Eaton who goes for the Alabama Jam but Animal got up quickly and actually caught Eaton with a nasty clothesline as Eaton dove off the ropes. Animal hoisted Eaton onto his shoulders as he tagged in Hawk who climbed to the top rope and leaped off with a second nasty clothesline. Eaton flipped down to the canvas and as Hawk made the cover, Animal clocked Anderson to make sure he couldn’t make the save. Baby Doll was the Perfect Alliance’s last chance and as she jumped up on the apron, Ellering got his revenge by coming up behind her and pulling down those tight leather pants. Baby Doll, embarrassed ran for the hills as the ref made the three count. Jim Ross: And we have new UWF World Tag Team Champions! __________________________________________________________________________ STEEL CAGE MATCH TERRY “BAM BAM” GORDY VS “DR. DEATH” STEVE WILLIAMS This match is just what you would expect from these two. A bloody brawl from beginning to end with power moves coming from both. Many of the momentum turns came after one or the other being tossed full force into the steel cage. At one point, the ref gets knocked down but Gordy and Williams could care less as they just continue to go at it. All of a sudden, two members of the Rat Pack, Eric Embry and Buddy Landell, scurry toward the ring and start to scale the cage. It looks like it is going to be 3-1 here but then the crowd pops. It is Michael Hayes coming to the rescue. He grabs both Emery and Landell and throws them off the cage. Dr. Death loses focus here and Bam Bam tosses him head first into the cage. Williams hits hard and staggers toward the center of the ring where Bam Bam now comes off the ropes for a huge running lariat. He then scoops up Dr. Death and somehow climbs to the middle rope for a second rope powerbomb for the victory. When the match has ended, Michael Hayes enters the ring and for the first time in almost a year the two shake hands and give a big embrace! _________________________________________________________________________ USWA HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH KERRY VON ERICH with PRECIOUS VS JIMMY GARVIN with NANNY SIMPSON After Garvin walked out arm in arm with his new valet, Precious was fuming and went after Nanny Simpson who ran for the hills. As for the match inside the ring, Garvin actually showed some wrestling skills and had control for a while with leg scissors and chin locks. Soon the crowd got behind Kerry who scooped up Garvin for a Big Slam and then weakened his opponent with various claw holds. The end came when Kerry caught Garvin with a Tornado Punch for the victory. After the three count, Precious came in and got right in Garvin’s face. He tried to play it off that he still cared for her. WHAM! Jimmy Garvin finds out exactly what that loaded purse feels like! Jim Ross: Well the David VonErich Memorial starts off just the way it should; with Kerry VonErich defending his USWA Heavyweight Title! __________________________________________________________________________ UWF NORTH AMERICAN TITLE MATCH HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN VS TED DIBIASE In a strange turn of events, Dibiase plays it clean here in the beginning and that is just because he is clearly the better wrestler then Hacksaw. Unfortunately it didn’t getting him anywhere and Dibiase got frustrated. After refusing to break cleanly, things picked up and the crowd really got into it. In another obvious dirty trick, Dibiase throws Hacksaw into the ring post hoping to injure that shoulder so that Duggan can’t use his big football tackle. Dibiase continues to stay on top but can’t get the victory. He knocks Dibiase into the ref and heads out of the ring for a chair. Dibiase swings with all of his might but Duggan ducks. Dibiase loses his balance and the chair goes flying. Hacksaw picks it up and has Dibiase trapped. Dibiase goes to his knees and begs for Mercy! WHAM! WHAM! WHAM! No Mercy shown here. DING DING DING! Unfortunately the ref saw Duggan hit Dibiase with the chair and calls for the bell. Hacksaw doesn’t seem to care that he lost the match and goes for the 2 X 4. Officials rush down the aisle in droves and prevent any more violence. Jim Ross: Bah Gawd, I can’t believe what I have just seen. Duggan has had enough of Dibiase’s shenanigans and went absolutely wild. Ernie Ladd: Duggan should be stripped of that title and suspended indefinitely! Jim Ross: Come on now Big Cat, who brought the chair into the ring? Ernie Ladd: Dibiase was just getting a chair to help the ref who Duggan hit! Jim Ross: Now I have heard it all. Well, Dibiase wins the bout but Hacksaw retains his title! Ernie Ladd: That is one flawed rule! __________________________________________________________________________ UWF WORLD 6 MAN TITLE Match: TEXAS TORNANDO MATCH THE SHIEKS with SKANDAR AKBAR (HACKSAW REED, KEN PATERS & CRUSHER BLACKWELL) VS KEVIN VON ERICH. BLACKJACK MULLIGAN & STAN HANSEN Texas Tornado Style has all 6 men in the ring at once and you could imagine what that means! Total Chaos from the opening bell to the end. You almost had to feel sorry for the ref as there was no way to watch everything. This allowed Akbar to have numerous opportunities to interfere in the match. A trip here, a punch there but the fan favorites were always able to overcome it. The violence often spilled out onto the floor and the end came with Reed and Hansen exchanging blows on the outside of the ring and Patera and Mulligan duking it out half way up entrance ramp. That left Kevin all alone with Crusher. In an amazing move for a 410 pounder, Blackwell actually connected with a drop kick and knocked Kevin to the mat. He then climbed to the second rope and came off with a Mid Rope Flying Elbow Drop! WHAM! At the last second, Kevin slipped out of the way. Akbar sensed trouble and rushed into the ring where he was met with a drop kick himself. Akbar actually staggered back and landed on top of Crusher who was reeling from the miss. Kevin looked around and climbed to the top rope for a Von Erich Barefooted Death Splash. Kevin soars through the air and….. WHAM! Kevin lands on top of Akbar who is on top of Crusher. Kevin quickly covers Crusher and gains the 3 count. Jim Ross: And we have new Champions! __________________________________________________________________________ UWF UNIFIED WORLD TITLE MATCH: THE AMERICAN DREAM DUSTY RHODES VS JERRY “THE KING” LAWLER VS AUSTIN IDOL Jim Ross: Before we get started, let’s make sure everyone understands the rules here. First wrestler to record a pin or submission will be the new UWF Unified World Champion. Two wrestlers will start while the other must stay on the apron until he is tagged in As the match gets ready to start we see Idol and Lawler coming up with a plan and the Dream is standing alone. Dusty starts off against Idol and he quickly takes the top. Idol and Lawler’s plan seems to be to make a lot of quick tags in the beginning to each other but never tagging Rhodes out. Jim Ross wonders how long Dusty can last in this glorified handicap match will Ernie Ladd hopes it will not be for long. A completely worn out Rhodes somehow falls into the King and the ref signals that it was a legal tag. Ross is excited that the Dream will get a chance to rest but it seems like this might have all been part of the plan. Idol and Lawler smile at each other and now they go at it head to head with no tags. It seems like the match has turned into a singles match for the title between Idol and Lawler. Both wrestlers are able to get the other in their signature finishers only to have Dusty rush in a make the save. Idol had Lawler trapped in the Figure 4 only to have Dusty come in and stomps on Idol for a bit until the ref finally pushed him out. The same thing happened after a middle rope fist drop by Lawler. The same thing goes on for about 8 minutes and the crowd has caught on and they are really enjoying Idol and the King beating on each other. Lawler has taken a good deal of punishment but connects with back to back piledrivers only to watch Rhodes come in and make the saves. Rhodes in enjoying this and just waves an “I got ya” finger at Lawler. Lawler is fuming now as he throws Idol through the middle ropes but it was too close to the Dream who tags himself back into the match. Lawler plays the frightened game well here but he is truly exhausted. In now time at all, Rhodes has connected with a Bionic Elbow and know has Lawler up for his own Texas sized piledriver. WHAM Piledriver on Lawler with Idol nowhere around to make the save. 1... 2... 3. Jim Ross hypes up the fact that Dusty has outsmarted them all and gotten even with Jerry Lawler! Ernie Ladd: I have seen it all and now I am going to be sick! Jim Ross: What a night it has been for the VonErichs and Dusty Rhodes! So long from Dallas!
