An absolute hoot of a match - Bad Bones was just throwing the smaller Paul London around, with London getting a great shine in during the first stages of the match & then busting out brilliant hope spots throughout it - popped for those SSP's, very pretty. ****

When I saw this posted on another board, I knew I had to watch it right away - and it did not disappoint. Just an epic freakin' war. I loved the all out brawl they had last year, but this was even better. Must see. ****1/2

[2017-01-15-Stardom] Io Shirai vs Viper
ShittyLittleBoots replied to donsem43's topic in January 2017
Their match from last year is, so far, the best Stardom match I've seen. While this was not on that level, it was still absolutely fantastic - truly love the David vs. Goliath dynamic these two bring against each other. I don't know how she is in general, but in these 2 matches vs. Io, Viper has been FANTASTIC as the bigger woman dominating the champ w/ her size. Io was simply fantastic as the defending champ looking to be in trouble, her character work as the proud, cocky ace was great. Her offense, as usual, looked really great, loved every single one of her comebacks & the way they built into the finish w/ her German Suplexing Viper was terrific. ****1/4 -
[2016-07-02-Sendai Girls] Meiko Satomura vs Io Shirai
ShittyLittleBoots replied to donsem43's topic in July 2016
Started off with a fantastic Satomura control segment - that really ruled. It felt like every time Io got something in, Meiko cut her off. I loved Io's big comeback where she got to get her stuff in - love watching her on the offense. The finishing stretch was fantastic as well, and it felt like the meat of the match truly built to it, which is always a big positive. Great match. ****- 5 replies

This was AWESOME. Featured a really good FIP segment on Bryan, and then it just built & built to the finishing stretch which was one helluva climax. ****

I usually only make threads for matches that I consider to be ***1/2+, but since this has got some serious MOTYC talk already from reviews & on twitter, I figured I'd make a thread for it & of course I am interested in hearing how others here on PWO liked it. I thought that this was wayy too long, Omega dominated WAY, and I mean WAY too much of it - his work on top was painfully boring. Truly sucked the life out of the match. In the last 10 mins or so they started busting out big bombs, and that sure was more enjoyable than the first 2/3 of the match, but it wasn't interesting enough to bring it to good levels. *1/4

Two of my favorite current Japanese wrestlers going at it. There was no way I wasn't gonna love this. They started it off with some slick submissions, just trying to stretch each other out, wear each other down. Then it transitioned into them just beating the shit out of each other, which is exactly what you would expect from these two, the baddest dudes around. Excellent match. ****1/2

I thought that Cole played his role pretty much perfectly. The cocky, younger heel champ. Talking shit & dominating most of the match. I wish that Daniels had shown more emotion, thinking of something like what Lio Rush showed in his match vs. Marty Scurll, then this could've been ****1/2+ easily. I still enjoyed this tremendously, and when ol' Todd counted to 3 I got goosebumps. Gonna be hard to beat that moment this year. ***3/4

A very good spotfest. They went all out for this one, working hard to put on a memorable spectacle. Very enjoyable stuff. And seeing the Hardyz be so over in ROH after their previous relationship w/ the ROH fans is a spectacle of it's own. ***1/2

I liked their 2 out of 3 falls match from last month, and this was A LOT better than that one. This goddamn ruled - loved the sense of urgency & emotion shown by Lio Rush, he is such an impressive wrestler. Marty was damn good too, his work over Lio was awesome, and the ending with him just destroying him was so awesome. Absolutely loved this. Fantastic match. ****

A really good back & forth match. Loved Fish's offense with him just kicking the shit out of Lethal - the match had some really cool moments such as him doing that early on, and then I totally popped for the desperation Cutter Lethal pulled off. Bobby's work over Lethal's leg was really good too, some of the counters he did when Lethal went for something & then he countered it into him working the leg - awesome stuff. Loved this. ***3/4

During the build-up to this match, I was fully on the anti-Reigns camp, and I, 100% expected this to be a total shitshow, similar to Goldberg/Lesnar from 2004 - but what I got instead was the greatest main event match in WrestleMania history. Just amazing brutality, the beatdown by Brock was absolutely glorious, and Reigns' selling of that was pretty much perfect. Brock's mannerisms & facial expressions during that beatdown were amazing as well. Reigns had some really good character work in it too - I really liked the whole 'smiling-when-getting-beat-up' shtick, it was really awesome & added to the match. His hope spots were good, and the big comeback towards the end when he busted Brock open with the ring post & then gave him those awesome Superman Punches (which Brock sold like such a pro) was fantastic. Then we get to the only negative thing about this match. This would be an easy 5-star match for me if it weren't for the goddamn Seth Rollins MITB cash in. When it happened, I totally marked out for it, but it's not kind of a moment (for me at least) that I still care about, as I am not really a fan of Rollins. With a legit finishing run this would be one of the top-10 matches in the company's history. MAYBE even top-5. It was that damn good. But even with that stupid MITB gimmick ending, this was outstanding, and a true classic. ****3/4

[2016-01-17-Stardom] Io Shirai vs Kairi Hojo
ShittyLittleBoots replied to donsem43's topic in January 2016
Really good, borderline great match. Shirai, once again, with a super strong ace performance - she really is just so damn good. Hojo was absolutely great as well. These 2 have such good chemistry. ***3/4- 4 replies

Love me some Big Match Taguchi. He was really great in this, loved his submissions. I just wasn't the biggest fan of how this match was structured - it was laid out in such a way that I didn't find it too compelling to watch, and the selling of both men was pretty poor. It was pretty good, but I expected & wanted it to much better. **3/4

[2015-12-23-Stardom] Meiko Satomura vs Io Shirai
ShittyLittleBoots replied to donsem43's topic in December 2015
This was very good. I actually though that Meiko Satomura was clearly the better performer here - her work on top was wonderful, she just gave Io an AWESOME ass-kicking. Io's comebacks were good, but really didn't match the greatness of Meiko's brutal work over her, and that is why this didn't go ****+ in my eyes. ***3/4- 4 replies

[2016-05-15-Stardom] Io Shirai vs Mayu Iwatani
ShittyLittleBoots replied to donsem43's topic in May 2016
An absolutely great match - Io once again proved why she is one of the top tier best wrestlers in the world w/ her epic performance. She absolutely punished Iwatani as she dominated the first half - that was so great. In the 2nd half Iwatani got some more offense in, but by the end, Io really had an answer to everything she did. A really well executed story which came with a super compelling, hard hitting war. ****1/2- 2 replies

[2016-02-21-Stardom] Io Shirai vs Viper
ShittyLittleBoots replied to donsem43's topic in February 2016
Holy crap, I was absolutely blown away by how good this was! Just an absolute banger of a David vs. Goliath battle - Io Shirai's performance was absolutely perfect. Loved her selling, her facial expressions & especially that amazing offense of hers. Viper looked damn good too, she played her part as the bigger woman wonderfully. I am still very new to Stardom, but so far, as of 03/09/17 this is the best match I've seen from the promotion. ****3/4 -
[2016-09-03-Stardom] Io Shirai vs Kairi Hojo
ShittyLittleBoots replied to donsem43's topic in September 2016
My god this was great. Blink & you'll miss - this was an absolute action packed sprint of a match, with hard hitting, violent action from start to finish. I loved the fact that Kairi Hojo did work over Io Shirai's back throughout the match, and in the end she just murders her with those 2 beautiful looking elbow drops to the back. Fantastic match. ****1/2- 2 replies

This was pretty great. Started off with them trying to outswag each other, loved the mind games w/ the taunt stealing. Then TJP started targeting that knee of Shinsuke's - that's when things got REAL good. Loved TJP's work over the knee, and Shinsuke did a really good job selling it while showing that it isn't injured anymore - they clearly wanted to establish that he is now back with a good knee & all. Really good match. ***3/4
