Lesser known or remembered wrestling matches that turned into shoots
SirEdger replied to SPS's topic in Pro Wrestling
The one that comes to mind for me (although I've never seen any footage of it) is a match between Raymond Rougeau and Zarinoff Leboeuf in the early 80s. Basically, Leboeuf had stiffed Raymond's little brother Armand quite a bit and this infuriated Raymond to the point he demanded to be booked against Leboeuf. The match happened and the shoot was so bad that Leboeuf never wrestled a match again. Better yet, his WIFE came to collect his paycheck for the night. It's detailed in the Mad Dogs and Screwjobs book. -
Lutte Internationale/International Wrestling July 1986

Kokina & Paul E are the heels. I'm going for a more tweener OMG and trying a more sympathetic approach for Floyd Creatchman. With Paul E, it's hard to cheer against anyone opposing him! :p -

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
SirEdger replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
The return of Homicide & Hernandez tonight as the OG LAX was really dope. Fun way to end this week's show. -
WOW. A fantastic event from top to bottom. Loved the creativity you used in the First Blood Match, considering that neither Jaggers or Dutch could use a weapon to draw first blood. Big momentum shifts in both Light Heavyweight title matches. If you thought Owen was insufferable before, wait now that he's got the WWC Light Heavyweight title. And I don't know if anyone here will ever be able to match the intensity of the double main event. Vintage WWC booking and I enjoyed every moment of it! :)

I'm keeping Adias and Sunny's final showdown for a very special date. Doing a couple of long-term planning in the territory right up until the end of 1986 -

À LA SEMAINE PROCHAINE SI DIEU LE VEUT! -
Couldn't ask for a better go-home show before the July 5th stadium show. Everything clicking all cylinders. Awesome Chicky Sports Shop, as usual.

You can use what we call jobber packs when you can put up to 3 people in the same pack that will take one slot on your roster. Some use the packs while others use randomly generated names to portray jobbers. It's really up to you, you don't have to have jobber packs but it can be useful for your TV.

Great main event on Prime Time with a cool dynamic with each member of a different tag team involved. Also, looking forward to see Curt Hennig vs Don Muraco pretty soon!

Yeah, go with 60 at first. Once you get your pace and everything, then you can try to extend.
-
Still feel a bit unusual to see The Guerreros on the other end of the spectrum since they lost the 6-Men Tag Titles. They were so dominant as champs. And I bet it was a grueling battle for Ricky Steamboat against Buzz Sawyer. One helluva brawl, I'm sure!

Holy crap, what an awesome rollercoaster ride this was. Many upsets and shocking turn of events. Looks like Ole Anderson couldn't be trusted after all! Finally, we get Jerry Lawler and Honky Tonk Man confronting each other! Now, I'm curious to know what Eddie Gilbert will do without Missy Hyatt. That cannot mean good news for anyone in the UWF! The UWF Tag Team Championship would easily win the award for the Best Creative Finish of the Year if we had an award show. Overall, a resounding success! Job very well done!

On an interesting sidenote, I listened to one of Bruce Prichard's Something to Wrestle podcasts (don't recall which one exactly) where he explained the booking logic as to why the big match was always taking place early and he basically said that he was following the SNL formula where the good stuff always happened in the first hour and the less important happened in the second half. Not saying that Curt Hennig becoming the first TV champion isn't important, on the contrary, that's a huge win but it made sense to me to have Wahoo vs Flair right off the bat to get the crowd hot right away.

Really digging the last 2 matches with two unlikely challengers. I think Koshinaka will have a nice run in the AWA!
-
All set. By the way, I removed all the dates that the previous Portland owner had reserved for July and made them available again.

Like everyone here, I feel blessed to be part of this project, and that's big thanks to you who recruited me via one of the Facebook groups I'm in. I missed the first year of the project since I joined in 1984 and I'll say without a doubt it's the most fun I've had running a fantasy project since I ran my own fantasy e-fed at the beginning of the new millenium. Here's to a fantastic rest of 1986 and to an even greater 1987! Love you all, guys! :)

WWE TV 07/02 - 07/08 BELGIUM WITH THE UPSET AGAINST JAPAN
SirEdger replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
I don't know what left me the more speechless: the actual port-a-potty segment or the statement WWE released afterwards. -
No offense taken! I always perceived the National title at the same level as the Mid-Atlantic title.
-
That's the part I'll disagree with (since I'm the one who made the call to put the National title on Art Crews). In my totem pole, at least how I view it, the US title was the #2 title. I even considered the TV title to be more important than the National title. So, I don't think this is that big a deal to me to have him the National Heavyweight Champion. My goal was to pull a major swerve and get people talking. Obviously, it worked so I'm pretty pleased about it. :)

NO WAY. Never expected Bad News Brown to answer King Kong Bundy's challenge! You did some hustlin' for this one, my friend, and you did very well. Resounding success all around for this card!

World Class Championship Wrestling: June 1986

The visual of Percy Pringle in a hawaiian shirt and bermuda shirt is hilarious. Love what you're doing with him. And I cannot WAIT for War Games. This is gonna be fantastic. -
Backlund vs Rheingans in a Submission Match is everything I would ask for right now. Most certainly a highlight of that card. Huge statement win for the Southern Ramblers and a much deserved National Tag Title shot as well. Ricky & Robert better get ready! And even in defeat, Mark Youngblood with a really good showing against Blackjack Mulligan. Gonna go a long way for him to boost his confidence in the future!
