This indeed feels like it is straight from 1998.

It is not even that the match is bad, but Bray has absolute zero heat and his promos are just... bad. The fact that he was champion last year is insane in hindsight. I mean, he manages to have less crowd control than a watered down version of Broken Matt.

"Coach, do you fancy yourself a journalist?" "No" WHAT

Wyatt being in the spot of the card where he fits the most. The piss break.

OH MY FUCKING GOD SUPER DRAGON TIER CURB STOMP

And Asuka now has a different mask. If she keeps doing it that's a surprisingly good piece of continuity (assuming all the masks are one of a kind)

"I'm sorry... SORRY I DIDN'T DO IT EARLIER"

Fuck yes. Right woman won.

Well how great of a unit were they when the first 2 eliminated Easily explained by them being the least experienced.
-
Excellent job at making Absolution look like not only a unit through and through, but also a very dangerous one.

Oh, how I've missed Booker

Comfortably hyped for this. I know it will deliver, but I'm not expecting anything out of this world like the Rumble.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?

It seems Lashley indeed agreed to terms with WWE. Nice. -
Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4

Heeeey, they paid for their ticket, they have the right to be racist pieces of shit! (Obviously not, ok. It's sad that there's still people that make this argument seriously) -
I don't think that there's a simmetry here. Even though "technically" her name is a matter of public record, how many go out of their way to look into that? By flat out saying her name on his coverage, Meltzer made it much more possible for her to suffer some kind of retaliation, blowback or all sorts of stupid and dangerous shit.

Agreed. Rose got much more personality by tagging once with Goldy than all the time she got on the main roster. The fact that Graves turns into Lawler-lite when she's on screen doesn't help much, too.

I love how everything here is basic, but executed in a way that gets the biggest possible reactions. From the early parts of the match where Shawn does his fiery babyface offense until he finally gets struck by Sommer, to the FIP segment and hot tag... just some well executed, fun tag match. Blood truly enhances the drama sometimes. Rose and Sommers made two really young guys (Michaels wasn't even old enough to buy himself some booze) look like massive stars.

Hashimoto's entrance against Takada at NJPW Battle Formation '96 is fucking incredible. The crowd made an already very good match turn into something special.

Favorite build-up promo video to a big match

That Hogan/Rock promo video that blends perfectly into Hogan's nWo entrance is fucking incredible. -
Jarrett would be one of the few people that can work a prototypical HHH match and deliver good results in the process.

This match was brilliant, in a way. They managed to put all seven competitors over in a big way. Roman is the big dog. He's strong, fast, can hit his big moves from out of nowhere, and him being by Rollins was treated almost as a fluke, this time. He's the new ace, sorta. Rollins in this 'never say die' role is working surprisingly well. It was the performance of his career. He was shown to be as resilient as it could get, even if he was outgunned in many point of his encounters against Roman and Cena. Cena is the old, hardened dog. While not at his prime, he's been way too long at the top to not know how to deal with any other wrestler in the Chamber. He knows his career is at its final moment, but he's not going down easily. Elias is ruthless. While the least experienced, he is willing to throw out the flashy offense and just beat down the opponents to a pulp. Nothing pretty about him, and that is good. Balor is the flashiest of the competitors. He, much like Seth, is resilient, but relies more on his quick feet and strikes than power moves and indierrific slams. Miz is cunning and he is going to use every possible breach in the book to get the upper hand. He managed to SCF Braun Strowman, making it remotely plausible that he could get a win over Braun. Braun is just a monster. The reason he is going in strong into the EC is self-explanatory. Loved this so much.
