  1. There's some bizarre match-ups on Pro from 97. I did a skim through a few years back & you're seeing stuff like Public Enemy v Doc Dean & Robbie Brookside, Jim Duggan V Super Calo Some episodes are almost surreal; a lot of good stuff hidden in that show, though
  2. There are plenty of supposed low-level MMA companies that have much better camerawork and direction than WWE. Numerous other sports, countless football leagues, the athletics, boxing etc etc A slightly perverse myth generating here about the wrestling being a special niche product that few can produce. Most backstage segments are a one camera tracking shot at best
  3. Hopefully he goes Japan next and Kobashi throws a bit of Family Mart katsu fillet at him
  4. I still watch NXT UK most weeks though i do have a vested interest i guess I'd probably watch Rampage if it was on uk tv, always prefer a b show to the so-called main show.
  5. Listened to the Fit Finlay/British wrestling one yesterday, probably the best one so far i think- some really good stories on an era you don't get enough about really Regal has the best blue chew adverts by miles as well
  6. I like Dibiase in mid-south a lot. Been a while since i watched it but I remember a great couple of matches against orndorff, a really good flair one, magnum ta etc Nostalgia is a killer but i wouldnt be surprised if it holds it own against the wwf stuff. My taste couldn't have been that too bad at the time! Edit- the flair one is the murdoch double turn, is on youtube
  7. Conrads voice makes me feel ill at this point to be honest, completely burned out on him. Not sure i could listen to him ever again
  8. If getting rid of Dunn means they can transition back to a watchable visual style without the rapid cuts, then that's a big step in the right directiom straight away
  9. Heyman should not be let loose on creative They need new blood not 25 year old ideas
  10. Feels like Jericho is cutting the legs out from underneath Eddie to be honest. I would guess he has enough leeway/status to be in management's ear here, just don't see a situation where anyone could think Kingston benefits from it Its a shame really. I think for a while he was the best thing on their tv, now its all feeling a bit Sting at Spring Stampede 98 Edit- i doubt this is actually the case but its how it feels. Really poor booking tbh
  11. After watching 1995.04.16 - Hashimoto vs. Regal I now retract my statement about Regal not having a best match, this is almost definitely it
  12. I think Raven's "best" match could have only come from ECW really, and he should have lost to Dreamer long before he was on the way out Might not have been some technical classic but that's not what really matters. If Dreamer had beat him at the height of the feud then it would have been a much bigger occasion * Never saw any Jake Roberts in AAA. Sounds like something i should get into
  13. Assuming you mean where people rate/rank fights, Tapology is the closest you'll get to Cagematch https://www.tapology.com/rankings/4498-2022-mma-fights-of-the-year It does skew very heavily to UFC on the whole, though
  14. William Regal is my shout. Unbelievable talent and some great matches but got to think his problems ruined his peak I love the master edit of his worldwide "cup" matches against Flair, wish there'd been a good epic
  15. V Samoa Joe at Slammiversary 2006 is the best of his second act by miles but i do completely agree
  16. To be fair, though, pretty girl with lots of charisma, Latin-American (the holy grail!), its a decent signing
  17. Valerie was hardly a massive star, Bellator signed her after one amateur fight and fed her a load of donkeys Hannah Guy murdered her in her second to last fight, think she won the last one but yeah not brilliant. She is tidy though, which is why she got signed I'd guess
  18. These lads really need to watch themselves. 2 in a month?
  19. First time looking at the card for this Can't believe there are two different four-ways, both for different titles, and a three-way tag as well Feels a bit like overkill
  20. Martha Marcy... is brilliant, one of the best films of the last ten years He had a TV series, Southcliffe, that's quite good as well. That is quite promising
  21. Surely if Vince is on Smackdown they should put the belt on Riddle. Never a better opportunity to try and make someone given the amount of people that will watch this now
  22. I met HBK after he got sober and he seemed like a sound lad, very chill, but i think if you pay attention to background stuff & get invested its hard to look past the politics. No doubt he must have been a prick in his prime I think the stories are pretty comical but if you were in those shoes you'd be angry i guess He has at least four or five undeniable classics regardless. Trying to lessen that is getting blinded by the external stuff i think
  23. The second one is perhaps slightly more on track but he does love to ramble doesnt he. At first i was quite reticient about the idea of the first two being AEW launches & man's man 5 week period, but it has allowed us to get the two big traumatic events of his career out of the way quite early on. Quite cleverly done, in the end. The host could do with trying to reign him in occasionally, mind
  24. Considering he is a board nerd apparently I'm surprised he isnt just pilfering his tape collection and ripping off all the best storylines from old promotions
