  1. The Flair/Savage feud is credited with WCW's House Show business taking off in 1995. I don't recall many specifics other than Flair beating up Savage's father at Slamboree that year.
  2. I think the Ding Dong's segment with Paul E. is actually going to be on his upcoming DVD. One of the extras is called "Ding Dong Who is it?"
  3. It aired on TV, according to Kris. I'd imagine that, if nobody else, that Steve Friedlander would have it.
  4. I would love to see the episode after Austin's 2002 walkout again.
  5. I had a letter published in "The Wrestler" in 1998. I asked JJ Dillon why Hall and Giant hadn't been stripped of the WCW Tag Titles when they hadn't defended them in more than thirty days. The answer wound up being something along the lines of it being unfair to the Giant to have to wrestle with a partner who isn't always in condition to perform.
  6. In late spring or early summer of 1994, my sixteen year old sister happened to see the Shawn Michaels advice column, and got super offended by it. She actually sat down and wrote a letter to the WWF Magazine about how distasteful and offensive she found the column. No, her letter wasn't published. But, two months later, the column included a little addenum, basically just "Shawn" spouting off about how great he was and how much all the chicks dug him. We don't know for sure, for obvious reasons, but we think that was included because of the letter.
  7. "I could care less" is at least a grammatically correct term, even if it's incorrectly used 99% of the time. I could care less about New Japan right now, I haven't seen any of their shows in forever, but I still keep up with the results and the goings on. That's more than I can say about Dragon Gate, TNA, ROH, and AAA.
  8. I just remembered one that used to bother me. Hearing Nitro referred to as "Monday Night Nitro"
  9. Anyone wanna buy a six sided ring? http://orlando.craigslist.org/spo/4591854820.html
  10. I spent the better part of two hours reading through this while working last night. This is awesome stuff!
  11. "He's like a man repossessed!" (Johnny Polo) "That's possessed" (Gorilla Monsoon) "Whatever!" (JP)
  12. High: The two Joe/Styles PPV matches from 2005, and the 3 way from Unbreakable. Low: The rest of the Unbreakable PPV.
  13. I've always interpreted this as the wrestlers trading off spots, or strikes, without any regard for building the match or telling a story. Like the AJPW pop up sequences with the suplexes, or the Kobashi/Sasaki eternal chop exchanges.
  14. A shining example of Skeith's work ethic. It may not be accurate, but I had to get it done on time!
  15. Arnold Skaaland throwing in the towel for Backlund Snuka's cage dive Andre gives Studd the butt drop off the top rope Slaughter's gusher in the alley fight
  16. Ask him how he felt about clocking Jason Hervey with the phone on the Clash special.
  17. They've been on a RAW binge lately. Not that long ago they were doing the post-Mania April shows, and now they're already into July '95. Nitro may be coming sooner rather than later. I'm hoping to see the 1990-92 SNME up soon. Since they set the precedent by showing the finish of Harts/Strike force at the first TME, I wonder if they'll show the aftermath the Jake/Savage/Liz/UT backstage stuff.
  18. Debut him as a mystery partner for a top babyface: Cena gets put into a match against Rollins and Orton, and the catch is that Cena has to find a partner, or it's a handicap match. And, just to sweeten the pot, HHH insinuates that anyone who steps up is going to face huge consequences. Zayn is the partner, and he gets to show off his stuff and even pins Orton to win. He debuts with a bang, and seems like a big deal.
  19. This wasn't a great match, but each of them had already worked twice that night, so it's hard to fault them for not having a lot left in the tank. It was nice to see them focus mostly on wrestling, aside from the one trip to the floor and Shane's suplex onto the guardrail. The finish left a bad taste for me, I'm fine with Scorp wiping out on the moonsault, and Shane taking advantage with the belly to belly, but Shane has to blow off the Tombstone piledriver in the process. What I really found hard to swallow though, with the hindsight of knowing what was going to happen, was Styles' commentary. He's pretty much kissing the NWA's ass the entire time, with all sorts of namedropping going on.
  20. This has always been considered a landmark event in ECW history, and in Tommy's career, but this really doesn't feel like it. The blinding angle from later on feels like a much bigger deal. It goes on for far too long, and, as nice as Nancy is to look at here, listening to her same the shit over and over gets insufferable.

And, even more absurd is that the few times that they make genuine effort to make the title seem important (Miz/Bryan, Dolph/Ryder, Regal/Punk) the fans totally get behind it and the reaction to the babyface finally winning out is excellent.
  22. From WrestleMania VI - When the Fink announced that Dusty and Sapphire weighed in at a combined 450. "You're telling me Rhodes only weighs 200? Because I damn well know that Sapphire weighs at least 2 and a half!" - Jesse Ventura
  23. Nash got robbed here. UT pulled him under the ring, so he technically left the cage first. He shoulda been champ!
  24. The Managers episode from 2009 was just added, I believe that only leaves the one about Southern Wrestling as the only one missing.
  25. The Acolytes vs. The Mean Street Posse from the 12/5/99 Heat. The Posse gets the cream cheese kicked out of them, and Farrooq makes it more awesome by getting on the mic and asking "You wanna be a bad ass?" and clocking Rodney in the throat with the microphone.
