NO! NO! NO! -
I really don't think adding Cena to the Reigns/Lesnar is going to help matters. The crowd last night cared about exactly three people in the Rumble: Bryan, Ambrose, and Ziggler, and, to a less extent, Cesaro and Bray. I can actually understand Vince's idea about going back to Bryan feeling like a step backwards, but, unless they find some way to turn things around for Reigns, he's the next Batista.

I thought he made a lot of good points, like how he learned to wrestle before doing the the stuff with chairs and tables, and talking about looking back at some of the risk that he took. But, he just seemed so in the dark about a lot of the stuff that Sean brought up, which, by his own admission, is because he was in the parking lot with Sabu and not part of Paul's inner circle.

When I was a kid reading PWI, some kid at school saw the date was two months from then and assumed that it was proof of wrestling being fake because I was reading about things that hadn't happened yet. So, I had to flip to the ratings page and show the "for period ended" date, which showed what time frame it was actually covering. -

They were using Springsteen's Born in the USA at the Spectrum show in August when they dropped the tag titles to Valentine and Beefcake. -
Morrison tried out for season 2 and showed off his gymnastics. JR asked if he can do the Spinaroonie, and John digs his own grave by asking "What's the Spinaroonie?"

It seems to me that there could potentially be a few possibilities. KC has worked with Martel, Zybyszko, Animal, Greg Gagne, and Janetty. Unless travel is a big issue, then I don't see why they couldn't do something with the Clawmaster.

And Raven has talked at length about how shitty his memory is from those days . . . .

I really liked this, aside from the spot where Generico no-sold the uppercut and did the running boot. Generico had been selling the knee so well that it just seemed out of place. Other than that this was really smartly worked, and serves as another example of how great these two work together.

I enjoyed the show, but I sure didn't get any "best of the year" type of vibes from it. I didn't think anythin was awful, but nothing truly jumped out like an early contender for a 2015 MOTY. Of course, I watched it with some buddies, so maybe a second viewing will bring something out that I didn't notice. I thought JR sounded genuinely enthusiastic, a throwback to his NWA/WCW days. It's obviously a side effect of not having Vince or anyone screaming into his ear. I thought Striker did well, but he made a few comments that left he scratching my head. Plugging puroresufan.com, after Stuart had already announced that he was discontinuing updates. Suzuki as one of the founders of MMA?

It really takes some astonishing hubris to classify wrestlers as independent contractors while pulling crap like this. I don't think the no-compete would hold up in court. It would be like telling a TV actor that if they're fired from the show they're on, they're not allowed to pursue a career in hockey. I think WWE is banking on the fact that the future endeavored don't want to spend the money to take them to court and duke it out.

I just watched his 2014 RF shoot. It's a nice companion piece to the Breaking Kayfabe. He goes into much more detail about his time in TNA, and ROH is really only glossed over, aside from the iPPV incidents.

There were things I liked about this, particularly the finish, where it seemed like Hero and Steen were trying to outsmart each other. Steen baits Hero into trying the elbow, and does his neckbreaker. Hero acts like he's going to do another elbow but does a big boot instead. But, it, didn't do much for me overall.

I want to be able to review more consistently than I have in the last couple of years. With my older child in school, it should actually be do-able. I specifically want to check out more indy groups.

He uses an Xbox.

My buddy still buys the PPVs, even though he has the network. Because, they play like garbage on the network, with constant pauses and skipping. I think it's just he has shitty service, since my brother in law watches them on the network and says it's fine.

Hopefully they will try and get Bob for 81 but why does he want so much. I guess there is little chance of getting Hogan to do a timeline. They wound up doing '81 with Rick Martel. But, I'm hopeful for 1982. . . . .

I enjoyed their match last Thursday, but I didn't think it was anything amazing. They both had their moments, but there was also plenty of goofy shit, like Sasha's back flip bump from the spear, and Charlotte aping the Ibushi moonsault spot.

I disagree about D'Lo being the least memorable. He's probably one of the people who benefited the most from Russo's tenure as head writer, because Russo always made sure that the mid carders had something going on too. From 1997 when he was the only NOD member that Farroq didn't shitcan until 2000, he was on TV and in some sort of angle on a pretty regular basis.

What are the chances of Ambrose and Reigns being the 2015 versions of Daniel Bryan and Batista? Serious question, not trolling.

I had issues with PTW on the Roku yesterday morning. But, then I tried again at about 5:00 PM and it queued right up.

I never understood the point of giving Curt the boot. With how he'd been booked since Fall Brawl '97, there was no way anyone was going to feel a lick of sympathy for him.

I was actually at this SD taping, and it took forever for them to lower the cage. -
[1961-04-14-NWA Chicago] Buddy Rogers vs Haystacks Calhoun
MikeCampbell replied to Loss's topic in 1961
This was lots of fun. I'm surprised Flair hasn't taken more lumps as a Rogers rip-off, the way Hogan has as a Graham rip-off. Watching Rogers overdone selling and reactions, especially when he'd go airborne with the headlock, made this look like a template for Flair's famous days as touring NWA Champion. Rogers is saddled with a pretty useless opponent, but finds ways to keep things entertaining throughout.
