OMG, if Bryan walked out wearing that belt on RAW, I'd freak out.
  2. I liked this just fine, but I wasn't blown away or anything.
  3. Lex Luger in 1989?
  4. Buddy cuts a good promo and Horner runs him off. He should have left well enough alone. Dutch is hilarious switching sides and backing Horner. Horner just sucks.
  5. Eddie finally unseats Lawler and has the title! Eddie brings out Ricky Morton, because he thinks they're so much alike. But, Ricky isn't down with what Eddie is saying and tells him as such. Ricky gets the better of him in the ring, and he's ready for a match.
  6. This was sort of a useless segment. It recaps what everyone already knows. Jerry cuts a decent promo, and Jarrett is eons worse.
  7. I'm a bit surprised. I figured the Moondogs were taking the titles back here. But, no complaints, with how long the Moondogs had been winning, it was time for the babyfaces to have some fun.
  8. Lawler and Jarrett finally win the titles, and the Moondogs attack Jackie Fargo. Fargo fights back and hits everything that moves. The rematch gets moved up today, I think something is up . . .
  9. Razor teaches all the bambinos to forget about school and what they learn in books. They only need to know that they need to take what they want to be successful. Then, he gives Carlito his gimmick.
  10. The Nailz beatdown is shown, with some grizzly photos of the aftermath. One has to wonder if Cobb County just let him keep his prison uniform, and where exactly he got his hands on a nightstick and cuffs.
  11. Despite both teams being two of the best in the business at the time, this just didn't click the way I'd hoped. The Can Ams didn't seem comfortable working lucha style, and looked a bit reserved as a result. They really should have just cut loose, like they did in All Japan, and really went all out to be dick heels, but it just wasn't meant to be. This isn't bad in the least, but it fell short of expectations.
  12. I wasn't feeling this at all, but the only one here I'm really familiar with is Santito. The Konnan run in sucked.
  13. Does their plan to return to PPV run counter to that SMW vibe? I don't know the answer; genuinely asking. I don't think so. I only made the SMW comparison due to ROH being content to be happy where they are. They're still a national promotion, on TV in most of the major markets. So, going to PPV isn't a huge leap for them. It was much bigger, and much more ill-advised in 2007.
  14. This wasn't my favorite lucha match, only because I prefer tags and trios, but I can still recognize how well done this was. Especially the early mat work, and the near falls toward the finish.

I'm somewhat holding out hope that, if they do decide to go to one belt, that Bryan carries around the World Title belt, or decides to go old school and resurrect the winged eagle belt. I'm also holding out hope that Cesaro winds up winning the IC strap from Langston and uses the same IC belt, but with the black strap.
  16. I don't think ROH is really geared toward the PWO-type of hardcore internet smart mark fan anymore. They obviously were during their heyday, but since Sinclair took over, they seem to content to be the modern day Smoky Mountain. The small company that run in their markets and is content with where they are, and not trying to become the next national powerhouse overnight.
  17. Not at all. they pretty much just randomly decided that one of their house show/DVD tapings would be a PPV taping. It would air roughly 2-3 months later.

Last time they unified the titles, Jericho carried around two for his entire reign (12/9/01-3/17/02) and then HHH used both until 4/1/02 when new "Undisputed Title" belt was created.
  19. I think it has more of a chance to be successful now. While they were much hotter in 2007, they were also only running house shows and then selling them on DVD. Now, they have actual television to try to advertise and sell PPV with.
  20. I've only seen the 'Bucks a couple of times, so I don't know if this is typical for them or not, but I agree with Loss, they were pretty shitty heels here. The superkick party was just annoying after a while, although the one from the ref was amusing. The finish could have worked if it was done a little differently, but shrugging off the piledriver wasn't the way to go.
  21. I was both excited about, and dreading this match. The KO/Submission only rules meant that things that might normally be a throwaway spot would be given some more meaning. On the other hand, this could also be everything I hate about the indies. The powerbomb into the post gave me some hope, but then this turned into a huge stunt show, and the who le idea of selling was foresaken.
  22. I was thinking they'd do the first ever four-on-four Hell in a Cell, and then they can have Batista or HHH go over Bryan to set up a title match on a PPV.
  23. Bumping this, to share a story that I find hilarious: My youngest is now two and potty training. When she has to go, she runs toward the bathroom and yells "Follow the buzzards!"
  24. Bret vs. Undertaker from the 1996 Royal Rumble was pretty much panned, I don't even think it made the Yearbook in full. But I thought it was really well done. UT found a way to work in Bret's no nonsense wrestling approach into his tried and true formula that he'd been using for years against giant monsters.
  25. I use Mozilla firefox at home, and from work I'm using IE. For example, when I'm on the homepage of PWO looking at the board index. If I click the link to most recently updated thread of a particular folder (pro wrestling, the microscope, etc) I get an error message that the page cannot be displayed.
