I'm not liking how Ambrose is distancing himself from the other Shield members by losing the whole riot gear. Reigns and Rollins still rock it, but Ambrose just wears a plain black top now. sidenote: Not gear related, but the Shield have some awesome t-shirts, I'm surprised they don't wear them on TV to push them.

A babyface will seemingly have won some sort of grueling match, like a gauntlet match or an Elimination Chamber. But, then there's one last entrant who wasn't advertized for the match. A babyface will win a battle royal, but a heel that wasn't technically eliminated, but forgotten about runs back in and eliminates him.

As much as I'm pissed about the way Reigns first loss was handled, the match was insanely fun. The Shield gets a comeuppance, but still get put over huge by whittling things down from 11 on 3 to an almost level playing field. I'm hoping for a Bryan/Ziggler/Usos vs. Orton/Shield 8 man match next week.

I can't explain the thought process of that match booking but Roman Reigns was the best guy in the match and he's well worth the time checking it out. I can't beleive his first loss was wasted on the fucking Usos. Unless this leads to a serious tag title program between them and Reigns/Rollins, and when was the last time the tag titles were really involved in a serious program?

No. When Dusty came out on RAW a few weeks back, my wife saw him and asked if that was Flair. -
Holy shit, that sounds awesome. That's the first time I've ever heard of that, I'd imagine its hilarious. The first match on the tape is Razor vs Crush, and Polo points out Mr Fuji, and starts talking about how much he loved Fuji Vice!

I highly recommend seeking out the 1994 version of the Coliseum Video "Bloopers, Bleeps, and Bodyslams." Almost all of the matches are done by the awesome team of Gorilla Monsoon and Johnny Polo, and it's obvious they're having a blast.

I thought this would make for some fun discussion. There seem to be certain cases where we see something happen and, with as long as we've been watching wrestling, we pretty much know what's going to happen next. - During the contract signing, the table is getting turned over. - A babyface wins a trophy or award, and the heel breaks it. - The babyface asks the longtime heel for help in his feud, and says he wants him to be his old self. The babyface gets double crossed. - Challenger wins the title match by DQ or count out, and celebrates like he just won the super bowl. What else do y'all got?

Back when the boys and I would go out to Hooters to watch PPVs, we'd have a saying "New gear, he's going over!"

Tag teams not wearing matching gear kills me to no end. Like when Val Venis joined RTC and insisted on wearing white pants instead of falling in line with everyone else.

Corny's "FUCK THE COMMISSIONER!" story from Memphis has gotten somewhat famous in my local indy fed. Whenever the rep from the commission is being a dick, just to do so (which is usually only one or two guys, most of them care cool). That phrase usually gets yelled out at some point.

I think Quack may have gotten a look from the bigs, had he stuck around with ROH. He was offered a spot in S&S inc, with a possible push. But, he turned it down because he "doesn't work as a heel."
-
According to Barry, he left when Jack and Kendall got busted because the feds were trying to tie him into the operation too. Barry convinced Vince to release him to save the company face.
-
Yeah, the final spot was awesome, but Cesaro's deadlift superplex was pretty sweet too.
-
I think Tully and Arn were smart to jump when they did. They got to work with some fresh teams, like the Harts and Rockers, and had a money angle to return a year later. If only Tully had fucked it up.
-
I finally got around to the Cesaro vs Zayn 2/3 falls NXT match that people have been raving about. It's a good match, but the hype is overblown. The finish is sick with Cesaro muscling him up and fucking launching him into the air for the uppercut.

I've always considered "go-go-go" to be a style where the only concern amongst the wrestlers is to kick out whatever bombs and big spots they have, without any regard for telling a story or making the moves really seem to matter at all. Like Will and others already mentioned, Angle at his worst, Kobashi at his worst, Davey Richards, etc. I remember a few years back, when a friend of mine stumbled onto Dragon Gate, and thought they were the greatest matches he'd ever seen. And when I wasn't impressed, he just thought I was being an ass. Well, about six months later, after seeing that every one of those "amazing" trios matches is worked more or less the same way, he understood why I wasn't so high on them.

I tell my wife the same thing when she asks when he's going to die. When the bomb drops, all that's going to be left are the cockroaches and Ric Flair. -
A motivated Mutoh could easily be amongst the best in the world, see his two matches with Hashimoto from May and August of '95. But, there were many (many many) times he just didn't seem to feel like working, such as the infamous Takada match from October of '95, or even as recent as his overhyped mess with Jun Akiyama from All Japan last year.

In the Brian Christopher shoot, RF asks him about his brother cutting shoot promos in ECW, and Brian didn't know anything about it. Does anyone here have any idea what he's talking about. The only time I can ever recall seeing Kevin Christian, was during the whole Rich/Gilbert funeral angle on Power Pro, that led to the famous Doug Gilbert promo. -
I'm officially halfway through the set, I just finished June. It's been such a fun ride, reliving all the angles and feuds that were intrinsic to my childhood. I was talking about this set with a friend and he perked right up when I mentioned the whole Flair/Savage/Liz angle, and the Warrior/Shango mess. It's even better getting to watch the USWA and SMW stuff, since I didn't have those shows available in NY. As much as I've loved the Moondogs ordeal, I think that the Eddie Gilbert promos have topped it for my favorite thing in the first half of the year. Although Brian Christopher has been pretty awesome too. For pure workrate, the Lucha Libre promotions have been the biggest highlight. I still love the Lozanski, Wagner, Casas triple strut from the UWA trios from Feb.

I specifically recall Kevin Von Erich talking about World Class running 3 towns a night, and that he had to work them all after Kerry's foot injury. Which contradicts what most other people who worked WCCW have said as far as the travel and road schedule.

I don't know the full story, only that it involved him being fired in late 92 or early 93. -
I've hated him since 2002 or so. He rarely puts anyone over, and when he does, it's usually a lousy performance. Not all that far away from Brody now that I think about it.

Eddie and Davey dropped the belt in Manhattan a couple weeks back.
