  1. Foley challenged Rock to the I Quit match at the '99 Rumble.
  2. JC Ice tells a similar story in his shoot interview. He was on a $500 per appearance deal and when he worked 'Mania 13 he figured he'd get at least a few grand. Nope, he got a check for $100. The WWF had advanced him and Wolfie $400 before the actual event, so when paychecks came, it was only the extra $100 of his contract.
  3. The Dirty White Boy/Tom Prichard angle from Continental, where Dirty White girl comes out with the black eye.
  4. She did, but they wouldn't give it to her. They suspended her for refusing to go on an overseas tour and wound up finally letting her go in March.
  5. Bubba was tweeting something along the lines of "Fuck Haiti, we have enough of our own problems." This was after TNA, and specifically Kong, had made an effort to raise money for the relief fund.
  6. I can somewhat understand WWE not wanting to really rock the boat too much seeing as the Mania buyrate was up and ratings seem to be doing good. But, between the tease of Cena to Smackdown and Christian's title win, they've had two great chances to shake things up and put some genuine interest in the product and pissed it away both times. I legit LOLed at Chyna being Mick's surprise at the Impact tapings. I don't think they could have found someone less relevent if they even tried. I have the feeling Russo will be playing the "Former wrestler turned reality TV star" card the same way WWE can use the Rock as a former wrestler turned movie star.
  7. A buddy of mine texted me that Christian won the title. I replied that this will probably (hopefully) lead to a feud with Mark Henry for the title, based on the RAW six man. He thought I was being sarcastic, when I'm actually rather psyched at the possiblity of it.
  8. Honestly that was the only good thing to ever come out of his blog. Not so much Tim's dissection, but the fact that he only put it out there just to show that Tim was some kind of goof and it backfired huge.
  9. Funny, I popped in a DVD the other day and both of those thoughts were going through my head. How hot Beth was. And how Stevens as the modern day Jimmy Garvin with two valets would seem perfect for RAW.
  10. Well, Will, then you and Dylan are clearly *not* narrow minded and *do* know your asses from your elbows. What the guy from Scooter's blog was saying was that the booking and angle (the one that kick-started WCCW's hot streak and drew shit tons of money) were terrible.
  11. I would imagine that it's the narrow mindset that any match involving a ref bump, interference, etc. is automatically ruined.
  12. This the same guy who claimed that the booking of the Flair/Kerry cage match was horrible. It's obvious he doesn't know his ass from his elbow.
  13. Blue Panther vs. Love Machine from April '92
  14. How about Norman Smiley?
  15. Don't forget Manabu Nakanishi.
  16. It was only for a week. He KO'd Sandman with a GTS to turn. Then a week later, he was buddying up to the New Breed and then turned on Burke at the end. Actually a bit similar to when he turfed Barrett from Nexus.
  17. At the risk of sounding like a parrot. I'm a wrestling fan. I know what I like and what I don't, and I like to think for myself. I think the most annoying thing about ROH diehards is when Meltzer or Keith give an ROH match a high rating, and they'd point to that as being "proof" that it really as a great match.

  19. Something I thought of during a little email exchange with Ditch. For as long as he's been using the STF(U) as one of his finishers, Cena really applies the hold like shit. Is there anyone else that anyone can think of who has worked holds so poorly and uses them as a main move or a finish?
  20. WWE did that a few times before with Shawn, I'm specifically remembering during his time teaming with Cena before WM 23, there was a video on RAW of all the various times he'd turned on partners.
  21. Perhaps nobody is confident that Cole, who isn't a trained wrestler, can take it safely?
  22. I just finished the Al Snow "Guest Booker" DVD. It's not as bad as the Mike Graham version, only because Al isn't completely full of shit. But you definitely get the impression that Al is out of touch with how things work, he makes statements such as saying that Hogan/Andre was the best match of WM3 because that's what drew the house. He also harps over and over again on the fact that people who aren't in the business don't know shit about it.
  23. Bad wording on my part, Bix. I meant the angle as a whole of Sting getting turfed from the Horsemen.
  24. Clash X (the first Clash I ever saw not on tape), Ole telling Sting that he's out of the Horsemen.
