  1. It all began in 1990 for me. WWF Superstars on Canal +, Saturday from 5 to 6 pm. And here I am 22 years later.
  2. Trip wants a payday? John Paul wants his win back.
  3. Nope. Dutch is so great in SMW, what a gigantic waste the way WCW and WWF used him.
  4. WCW is hitting quite a bit of lows during this era, and it all comes down to stupid non-wrestling segments. Poor Foley, he busted himslef to get over a great realistic angle with Vader, and was repayed with this shit. Awful stuff. Not even funny.
  5. Finally. White meat british babyface Steve Regal wasn't exactly exciting. "Marcus Bagwell ? It's sounds like a sickness !". Ah ! Dundee is great. Talk about getting a gimmick and being at home with it right away.
  6. WTF were they thinking. The big brass band, the working class applauding for Vader & Sid. My head hurts, this is not funny enough to be so bad it's good like The White Castle of Fear.
  7. France had wrestling on TV in the 50's and 60's I think, and that's pretty much it. I do think it was pretty big back then, but it didn't last into the 70's I believe, and it has been pretty much dead since then. Germany sure had a much stronger wrestling "culture" with Otto Wanz promotion I'd guess. But I don't see how either can measure up to British wrestling.
  8. Still funny though, but not hilarious or anything. You can see how Austin oozes "money" here already. Dumb WCW.
  9. The first true Ric Flair promo since he came back. Way too late though, to me watching in context the damage had been done, and the exctiement of Flair coming back has been reduced a lot by months of nothingness and awful Flair for the Gold segments.
  10. I didn't know until now that Flair was actually dead as early as mid 1993. God awful segment. Flair & Arn look like sad jokes.
  11. The worst of the bunch. Builds exactly nothing. Sting doesn't look that pissed at Flair. Hey, remember the Black Scorpion ? I guess times heals all wounds. You gotta love Sting getting to do aerobic with the kids while you can guess what Flair would do to the moms...
  12. After going through WCW TV from 1989 to mid 1993, Ole Anderson gets the award of shittiest WCW booker of the early 90's, hands down.
  13. I thought it was really good. The power moves from Davey are insane, especially the delayed suplex and the piggybackdrop. I can understand the DQ as it was the first match in the programm, but coming off such a disaster of a show, yeah it can seem like the rotten cherry on the shitty cake.
  14. All the legend segments really made this show drag and drag. Especially with all the fuck ups and disapointments already on the card.
  15. The whole Dos Hombres gimmick really kills the heat until Austin decides he'll kill himself bumping off the cage. Hot finish, although with a major screw-up, and Zenk just is no Douglas and it shows.
  16. Benoit vs Scorpio again, something we could have seen a ton of in 1996 if WWF hadn't wasted Scorp. I love the idea of Bagwell trying to dance next to Scorpio, he looks like a dork. Really good match, Eaton & Benoit could ahve worked well if Benoit didn't go back to NJ.
  17. Seriously, whose idea was that ? Who thought for one minute it could work ? As babyfaces nonetheless, when Roma is a natural heel. They couldn't find anyone on the roster or someone with a history in the company instead of a WWF branded JTTS ? Never saw that before today either, and man, it sure made Flair look like an idiot. I would say poor Roma, but he was an asshole anyway, so fuck him.
  18. Why the japanese theme ? They don't plant any seed for Flair vs Rude in the future, but hey, Rude and Arn were friends in the Dangerous Alliance after all, and Rude has no issue with Flair, so why not. Fifi doesn't speak this time.
  19. Well, Cornette is still a great bumper.
  20. Pretty much the best I've seen Brian Lee look. He's still a pretty bad worker though, but Eaton can do wonders. Eaton is out of SMW and back to JTTS in WCW.
  21. Indeed. God awful production values. The piped crowd noise is unbearable and makes the thing even worse. At least nWo Nighcap was in front of the audience. As far as Austin and Pillman goes, they looked like the future here. WCW is gonna work that passing of teh torch angle and in a matter of a few years, Austin will be WCW champion and the new big star of the company. Or not.
  22. This match in full is actually really good, and Rude looks perfectly fine in it. The botched spot is more because of Dustin to me, who was coming off a shoulder surgery. I don't like that finish at all. The US title was stripped from Rude after he held it for a year, then DUstin got it after a tournament, and in the blow-off match between the two we get this and a title held up again ? (I saw the Power Hour version of this, and the announcing team of Blakjack Mulligan and Bischoff is rotten. At one point Mulligan refered to Shane Douglas as Shawn Michaels !)
  23. Good angle. Rude bashing Dusty was a nice touch, and Dustin is intense here. Way to build the long awaited match between the two.
  24. The Avenger is of course Candido under a hood, before he debuted under his name.
  25. Nice way to get Tammy some TV time before she really get into serious stuff. It's kinda bizarre to see her so young and natural and fresh these days though.
