they are doing a 25th anniversary episode of Raw on January 22 from Brooklyn. I wonder what big names they can get for that show?
also Vince wants either Rock or Austin to ref Brock v Jinder (per Meltz)
I could totally see them doing a tag or survivor series elimination match with Team Owens v Team Shane where if Shane loses he has to leave Smackdown. They love doing by that stip, especially with a McMahon, at least once a year
Dave said on lapsed fan that Flair v Hogan was never the plan even though early on .Flair thought it was.
Flair was a little discouraged their first match went only 13 minutes or something. And Hogan told him "we'll save the big one for Mania". And Dave thought to himself "you ain't gettin' mania"
Sami Zayn just pinned Randy Orton clean in the middle of a wwe ring. ( ok after a low blow but that's practically clean these days)
Owens and Sami are just fantastic together. Smackdown seems to be getting back on track
Apparently right now it's going to be Raw champions v SD champions at SS. Or maybe just speculation?
So right now if that goes down it means:
Brock v Jinder
Miz v Corbin
Nattie v Alexa
Usos v Dean and Seth
Yeah, have to think they are changing some of the titles before then
Dave said that WWE's attendance problems the last month are becoming a "story". Have to think the Shield Reunion is probably a response to this. Road Dog said on twitter that Sept. is a rough month business wise. Actually Sept-Dec always seems like a down time honestly unless they have a hot Survivor Series angle like last year with Goldberg
I think that's a point that's not really touched on much and is quite important. There are less big guys/bodybuilders getting into wrestling so this generation doesn't automatically see them as stars or something special and it's caused a gap/disconnect between promoters (mainly Vince) and a portion of the fanbase. Remember it's been a decade since the Lashley, Mason Ryan types were the norm and that's a long time in the wrestling business to change perspectives
I think this is probably a big reason Roman is struggling to get over as a babyface to a portion of the audience
but then you have Braun... but he has been booked so strongly
@chillhartman of pro wrestling sheet is saying the Shield (all 3 of them) are reuniting at the TLC ppv next month. He's pretty much a lock down source of news so it looks legit
Who does Brock work with before Roman? The Balor, Rollins, Ambrose,Wyatt types seem like a step down at this point. He's already beat Joe and Braun now
I think Bobby was genuinely impressed by the work rate in WCW when he got there. Even when he debuts at the Clash he seems in awe of Vader for instance. It was just a slow, painful realization that the company was run by general incompetence and that it would never change. Of course the story of him pitching Bischoff ideas for the Cactus/Payne v Nasty Boys match and being shot down was the genesis of all that. I think at the end he truly hated working there
As far as fan/online stuff Hunter's Torn Quad didn't like him. I still remember that thread. I think it pre dates PWO. New Millennium Blues days? He's the only wrestling fan I remember saying they weren't a fan of the Brain
it was still a shoot head butt but not one that could cause color on it's own. Vince pre bladed and put nu skin over the cut. Owens head butt opened up the cut. I think that's what happened at least
Dave was still mad Vince would take a shoot head butt even if it wasn't a real nasty one
