  1. Loved Meltzer's Billy Robinson write up but one thing annoyed me. Can anyone elaborate: How did Flair approach the match?
  2. Is exactly why I can't stand Keller. He comes across utterly joyless about modern wrestling on his audio shows. It's very much the "this isn't fun for me, it's my job" vibe. And I don't see any great probing or insightful journalism, so it ends up being misery and negativity, which is no fun to listen to. I've never been motivated to watch or rewatch a match based off Wade's audio or writings. Meltzer on the other hand lots and lots. Wade specialises in promo analysis more than match analysis if anything.
  3. It was feared at least at the time. I don't think I saw any overt mention of it happening or someone doing it.
  4. For sure and whatever drop off there might have been subscriber wise (fuck those guys if that was the case) were most likely replaced and more by the sign ups Wade has gotten via the free BlogTalkRadio show/shop window he has. Never saw much blow back to announcement bar some people trying too hard on the F4W board.
  5. Elimination Chamber 2014 is now up: http://network.wwe.com/video/v31678253
  6. His hair was seemingly always a thing:
  7. I need a ruling transphobic Jim Ross: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5X6F1Mxnyg#t=120 Cis privileged Okie.
  8. A few times on his podcast Austin said he noticed a sea change after he returned from his neck injury in late 2000.
  9. I know the ancestry of the Memphis library is complicated and lengthy but apparently if it is MemphisCorey Macklin's death ended a huge stumbling block. Rumours, conjecture, blah.
  10. There's a hot rumour going around that WWE purchased another video library. Received a tip yesterday that the WWE has purchased a new video library. It's a major one. -Joe Via the Voices of Wrestling Twitter: https://twitter.com/voiceswrestling/status/444921761243488256 The are fairly reliable and others are claiming they've heard rumours. Leading candidates I guess Memphis or WWC. They are inducting Carlos Colon in the Hall of Fame BUT WWC is still active: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r45V4Z8Z6ng

Not going to be on anyone's match of the year list. But Ziggler and Fandango had quite the little WWE match on this week's Superstars. It was worked closer to a PPV match and the crowd were really into it.
  12. Very happy Archer had the match he did. Not going to hijack or occupy anything but he should be on more tours as a single. If Devitt goes to WWE I am really looking forward to him Wrestling similar sized guys.
  13. Sorry guys I haven't read the entire thread so this may be redundant information but Mike Johnson said they WWE have every Saturday Night Main Event and Clash of the Champions digitised and ready to go. However the tech people have been told to sit on it until all the free week people are finished with.
  14. So the lesson is stop watching ROH tapes. Get on the gas and work on your tan?
  15. Youtube link here for the ICW/Grado documentary last night: I'd imagine the accents may cause those outside of the UK and Ireland issues.
  16. Is this RF's attempt at the documentary Heavy Metal Parking Lot or is he just exploiting poor unfortunates? https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10201701725769579 Ok silly question.
  17. http://smodcast.com/episodes/w-chris-hero/ I know there's fans of Chris and/or rap music here.
  18. There's a lot of truth in what you say, Kris. But going on the year 2014 alone Mike has gone through quite the dry spell when it comes to scoops and as incorrect as incorrect came be about Hogan being at the Network launch deal.

He was just unlucky/fell through the cracks. I think like Colt Cabana his contemporary quirky Jewish humour is wasn't something WWE brass got. WWE had various plans for him but they would get nix or forgotten. His reoccuring knee injuries were probably the biggest thing. I assume WWE eventually saw his knee as too much of a liability.
  20. I had no idea he was involved in NJPW until I heard Meltzer saying this. After hearing that from Meltzer, and seeing you also confirm this, I am really curious now. I grew up watching Tharpe's IWF promotion. He was the promoter, TV host, and play by play man. The commercials to his program were usually his own attorney at law ads. At one point, he was involved in the main event storyline, which was a bloody tag team feud. In a memorable angle, he dabbled in brujeria (witchcraft, which is a big deal here culturally) to try to get an advantage in the feud. Happy to hear he's doing good. He's great. A real ham and a student of all the great managers it seems:

Cena's retort in this SHORT video is something else: http://instagram.com/p/lVClnAmcLY/
  22. A case of the "internets." Can people can't read or don't believe this statement: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-03-07/wwe-expects-new-cable-tv-deal-by-early-may-cfo-barrios-says.html?cmpid=yhoo ESPN is owned by Disney is structurally it isn't true. Disney is in the market for acquiring entertainment entities. Disney recently bought Marvel and Star Wars though.
  23. Seems to be utter bullshit but there is a rumour of a WWE-ESPN merger going around.
  24. You have no idea how sad I am to hear this. I loved Kurt Angle in WWE, even when I hated him. Bix and myself schiled Kurt's really confessional column about himself in this month's Fighting Spirit Magazine previously. Meltzer wrote synopsis of it - here is the part that covers his health:

Was listening to Steve Corino's appearance on the PWTorch Livecast. He said Zayn-Cesaro at NXT Arrival was the best match he had seen in 5 years. Bare in mind he was on plugging ROH and knew it wasn't an advisable public statement. He liked it that much.
