  1. Alan should have added "as it relates to FSM magazine over the years" to his criteria description. The list itself is in line with the coverage FSM gives to modern Wrestling. No one said that as already mentioned. Sara is an important/influential figure and should be represented on the list. As she helped carry SHIMMER for years, a cited influence on other females, broke the gender barrier on the indies in a pretty credible way and then became the first female trainer in NXT. It is indeed. They did a 100 to commemorate the 100th issue of the magazine. Outside of a really good piece Phil Schneider wrote and the occasional plug in the news section of Cassandro's Art festival shows in London the magazine doesn't really cover Lucha at all.
  2. Devitt has had a great year between moving to heavyweight and completely reinventing himself from uber vanilla babyface to crazy heel faction leader in fairness. With Devitt don't just focus on Japan as he took a lot of well received dates in the UK - where Powerslam is published. His placing is probably elevated due to the voting panel seeing him up close a lot this year. Also in the UK & Ireland has become the dude every indy wrestler and trainee looks up to now more than ever. Likely due to the character change making him more interesting, the WWE interest, more people watching New Japan and the reports of the pretty decent money he is on. I'll buy it over the weekend and check out the reasoning behind the placings.
  3. Meltzer on his forum: I am picturing Gerald Briscoe teaching Nattie shoot holds in her dressing room in case AJ Lee shoots on her at this stage.
  4. He isn't that credible but once in a while he gets something right. Mike Johnson confirmed Dave's story. PWInsider loves to report differently from Meltzer for competitive reasons so if they both report the exact same thing it is more or less golden. http://www.pwinsiderelite.com/article.php?id=82219&p=1 Quickly becoming more written about than the Montreal screwjob: http://www.pwinsider.com/article.php?id=82219&p=1
  5. Meltzer can at times be too fast to publish the bitches be crazy yo narrative. For example he believed an NXT's Paige fake Facebook argument with a NXT's Corey Graves fake Facebook. WrestlingWorldNews's Richard Gray wrote this (read bottom to top): Not the greatest source in the world but the dude certainly believes it.
  6. After turning IWantWrestling into hashtag that was used to display smarky displeasure. And purged all record of his podcast and website on the internet.
  7. Dylan you are not on Twitter so a lot of the display of praise and love seems to be unseen. Essentially everyone in NXT tweeted heartfelt praise and best wishes. Some with smiling photographs with Rob. His friends on the indies and CM Punk then joined in. Then you had the crazyness of people like Jim Ross and Triple H tweeting Rob. It was flabbergasting and overwhelming in terms of content and volume.
  8. Podcasts seem to be a decent vehicle for ex-WWE Creative people to get a job elsewhere. Dave Lagana went from his IWantWrestling podcast to a role in TNA.
  9. Two things: Communication between developmental to office or developmental to intermediary to office has ALWAYS been terrible in WWE. It is one of the reasons why Triple H rolled his sleeves up and got involved in NXT more. In terms of petty WWE jealous bullshit it was reported in the Observer that Matt Martlaro didn't like Rob. Don't know Matt's role but he works under Hunter and is a liaison between NXT and WWE office and hires and fires. Martlaro was dubbed the Napoleon by Tom Pritchard as Matt was well liked liked and was once in Rob's role going back to OVW later completely changed when he got more power.
  10. Rob is a nice, smart guy who has his finger on the Wrestling industry Zeitgeist for about a decade or more now. I think I posted here that not being the case after was my greatest fear when he got signed. I hope his long term prospects with WWE become clearer soon. As ambiguity can really weight on a person. Wrestling is a terrible thing to be good at in 2013. If Naylor was an Accountant or Marketing man he could just walk down the street to the next firm.
  11. TNA organically downsizing too. Shedding the more expensive contracts for $300 per appearance types. TNA seems to be a much, much, much less of an alternative for WWE talent now. Which means bargaining power for WWE wrestlers is much lower. Couple that with change in pay structure moving from PPV and PPV payoffs to the WWE Network and good knows what royalty rate if at all.
  12. It is a format sheet rather than a script no?
  13. Doing a shoot interview immediately after being released will not help him get resigned. I think you have a dated conception of shoot interviews: They are very, very rarely bridge burning exercises these days. Everyone does them. The voodoo factor of them is gone. They are just video versions of podcast interviews. Plenty others have been rehired after doing them. In Hero's case he said nothing that would make you think he would get into trouble for saying it and openly states he wants to be hired back. Any criticisms of him offered by people of him in developmental he either took it on the chin or agreed with them. Chris technically dodged answering directly about Bill DeMott's training practices as the interviewer just asked Hero about Kevin Matthew's hate campaign where allegations with merit were undercut by how Matthews made them and lumped them together with other more dubious claims about DeMott. The only person he anything negative to say about was someone outside of developmental - Eddie Kingston a former friend who was criticised for just being a fuck up which by all accounts he is. He missed a CHIKARA booking as their Champion this year as he punched a mirror drunk apparently.
  14. Bit of a bummer thought especially towards the end. Detailed that the die was cast on his release and he was trying to change this ethereal, unchangeable opinion of him. I hope he ends up a Damien Sandow story. The shoot may spur a revision/rewatch of Norman Smiley's work as Hero puts him over huge as a worker.
  15. Dave appeared unnamed and uncaptioned on the WWE.com a part of the Wrestlemania 31 announcement press conference:
  16. Hopefully to talk the late T. John Tibbedeux
  17. Stephanie no longer heads Creative. She has gotten a massive promotion. More wheels seem to be turning WWE Network wise.
  18. There's the promotional material: http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/origin...zIQ.png%3Alarge Don't rule out a ticker tape parade for the Hulkster, brother:

What will Goldust vs Ryback on Main Event this week will be like?

    CHIKARA

This sounds like a hell of wheeze: If Quack takes money off fans to bring the promotion back then he is a first ballot inductee in the Carny Hall of Fame.
  21. This came up in conversation with me and someone else today. Meltzer's lengthy and grim piece on Brian that was inspired by the release of the WWE Pillman DVD is accessible online: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/a...p4/farC1WnTeX0J
  22. What more does he have to say? I can understand people listening to his podcast every Thursday or going to his site occasionally to check out his latest rant- but who would PAY to hear this man talk at this point? The guy is a carny but has been shooting for YEARS over a decade at this point. There is nothing left in the tank and it can all be summed up with " I wish it was 1989 and I hate the current state of pro wrestling because Santino is a star while Matt Morgan is standing in the unemployment line". He may have had a funny uncle growing up or something.
  23. What I want to know is if Liam is going to end on someone's WKO list
