  1. They once had a match against the Hardy Boyz on Superstars (who went by the name of The Jinx Brothers) in a period of the Hardy's career that is forgotten.

  3. Same here and especially how serious it was (similarly I had no idea how 'fragile' he is these days either). Trust Vince to take the exact same spot that injured Steamboat a week or so later mind! Also, first time I'd actually heard someone say Luger's real surname and turns out I've been saying it wrong for about twenty years!
  4. I always enjoy the Lions tours with the exception of the debacle overseen by Woodward in 2005. I find it tough to go against and almost criticise England (and Jason Robinson is probably my favourite all time player), but whilst Healey was always a knob I've found so many of that 2003 team unbearable since. Add Greenwood, Vickery and Kay to Messrs Dawson and Dallaglio. I felt that the Irish were a very boring and predictable side in the 2000s (much moreso than England): O'Gara to kick to touch, O'Connell and O'Kelly to win the line-out, look for the penalty, O'Gara to kick the three pointer, rinse, repeat.

  6. Think Kris meant this site; http://icwpoffouniverse.webs.com/ Thank you
  7. Another fantastic and enjoyable episode. I don't see any problem whatsoever with the conversation they had about Dick Slater and I think the partying stories add to the podcast. Whilst he even appears to be curbing down on the mentions of his divorces! Perfect length again in that I wanted to listen to more of the two of them talking as opposed to getting bored and losing track as I can do with others.
  8. I started to listen to this last night and similarly to the podcast on Dusty just a wealth of information that I had no idea about (the ICW and WWC stuff especially). You mentioned a site that had newspaper clippings of ICW, I don't suppose you can post the link by any chance? Looking forward to hearing what you have to say about the Crockett era and beyond when I continue with this.
  9. I've not seen any of his Stampede work, but how was Pillman there before he came to the NWA in 1989?

I always found it strange that he retired from football due to an injury but is now wrestling, as surely this is harder on his body than football ever was? Cheers for the info about him being out injured Tim.
  11. Jim Breaks vs Jon Cortez (taped 5/26 (same night as Veidor/Davies) aired 7/31)

Has Knox got any experience prior to signing with the WWE? I know he's the guy who used to be a goalkeeper, but did he ever wrestle over here in the UK or is he being trained from scratch?
  13. Jodie Fleisch vs Jonny Storm (from Best of the Best 2) I've posted about this previously, but it also got a bit of coverage on the recent Exile podcast. One of a few matches that the two had on their North American tour and this was the best by far. Wall Unit, Springboard Shooting Star to the floor, Rewind Storm Insider, Springboard 720 DDT, a ton of innovative stuff and a pretty flawless junior heavyweight bout.
  14. Two hours into this and it's fantastic! When I saw that it was nigh on four hours long I did worry, but it has held my attention throughout and the podcast is nicely broken up with some classic promos to the point that time is flying by when listening to it. Huge congratulations for putting this together so soon after his passing as the depth you go into on Dusty's career is fascinating and I've learned so much already.
  15. Enjoyed this. Especially nice to hear a bit of talk on the UK guys towards the end of the show.
  16. Another great episode with Steamboat and I enjoy the wild night out stories (like this week the bar tab story involving the two of them and Piper), though I do find the mentioning of the wives and the divorces a tad tiresome. Plenty of good stuff between the two of them and I especially liked to hear them talk about the late 70s Mid-Atlantic era. I think some of the criticisms are harsh and too an extent nit picking; Jim Ross is awful when dragging out and reading his sponsors (same for Jericho), it's hardly Terry Garvin Simmes levels of bad audio (and I like this podcast a lot and find those issues part of the charm) and Conrad certainly isn't Alice Radley. JvK summed it up perfectly though and that's pretty much why I don't bother with certain podcasts.
  17. That was a great little story! I haven't listened to all of the episodes but have enjoyed everyone that I've checked out so far (Meltzer, Okerlund and Foley). I also find that the length of the podcast at around an hour is a nice digestable length and I don't find myself losing interest as I can do with other podcasts that seem to never end at times.
  18. Edit
  19. Especially evident in the old Eyada shows that they used to do where you'd often forget that Alvarez was part of the show as he would be so quiet.

    The Sandman

I remember thinking his matches with Cactus from 1995 held up when I revisited that year of ECW, and there was the Spring Stampede match in WCW that he had against Bigelow but that'd be about it.
  24. There's some talk about this in the Village Green Preservation Society. I'm of the opinion that it never took place and was just a typo on someone's list.
