  1. Yeah, it was him. He was trying to orchestrate some sort of 'grab bag' system for his discs, where one of the grab bags would contain the elusive Flair vs Veneno match. Without going into all the specifics of everything, it turned out that he never had it in the first place. Some old time traders may remember some post on Crazy Max where he sai he was off to the Dominican Republic specifically to source this, and then when he returned claimed he had it but was going to keep it for himself. He also used to refer to himself as 'the King of Handhelds'!
  2. A belated thanks for these. I listened (well I should say attempted to listen) to the Cornette podcast this week and boy was it awful! I usually enjoy anything involving Cornette but had to switch this one off around half way through.
  3. Can't say the one with Angle interests me, but I'll certainly check out the one with Meltzer.
  4. I think Twitter would definitely be a good idea as it's another source of advertising the podcast for him, especially if he could associate himself with some of the other wrestling based podcasts out there. I've heard Terry mention Cornette a couple of times as a friend of his and it's the kind of show that I imagine he would really enjoy. If he could connect with Corny and make him aware of it, get him to plug it etc I'd imagine that would bring in fresh listeners for him. Cheers for the info re Bart. The fact that I had heard no mention anywhere of these stories made me quite wary of them in the first place, though it's nice to have it confirmed!
  5. I'm not on Facebook sadly, just Twitter. I can imagine Falk being a fantastic guest, though I primarily associate him with the Jarrett Memphis territory. Downloaded a bunch more (Adias, Embry, Prichard, Fuller, Busick, Young, Pedicino and Black Bart) and started to give the Black Bart one a listen last night though am not too sure what to make of it. From beating a young Hulk Hogan to a bloody pulp in Alabama, to claims that he could've been a lifer in the WWF, it just all seems a bit far fetched to me. Maybe it is true, I don't know, but he tells a good story that's for sure!
  6. Got it, thank you.
  7. Really enjoyed the Princess Victoria episode of this; a smart, articulate lady with some very funny tales and the two hours just flew by listening to her reminisce and offer her opinion on people and things. I was kinda expecting more from the Jeannie Clark one after the way it is hyped, so in that sense I found it a disappointment as it never lived up to that hype, and I wish they'd focussed more on the feud between Adams and Austin. An okay listen, but not a patch on the Princess Victoria one. Looking forward to digging into some more of these.
  8. Is there an option for 'signatures off' at all? I've had a quick look on settings and couldn't see anything. When someone's signature takes up the whole screen on a PC it seems a bit excessive size wise!
  9. Ah, cheers. I saw it was Place to be Nation and assumed it was an audio broadcast. Interesting that they had Bret for 1992 and 1994 as would be my choice. It would've been a toss up between Flair and Bret for 1992 (with Savage and Sting as an outside bet), whilst I can't even think of a viable alternative for 1994.
  10. I haven't listened to this so don't know who they chose, but see Vader as a far stronger pick that Bret in 1993. I see Bret's best years being the ones that sandwich this in 1992 and especially 1994.
  11. Not a huge podcast listener as I don't really have much free time to devote to listening to them, but finally downloaded a couple of these episodes (Jeannie Clarke and Princess Victoria). Looking forward to giving them a listen as this and the guests appear to be right up my street.
  12. Ric Flair vs Ricky Steamboat (Europe - The Final Countdown)
  13. Can't even see how this even warrants a thread or discussion? Considering everything, Vince by a country mile and it's not even close.
  14. There is every chance that was when Richards and Garner were over here playing county Cricket for Somerset, it certainly feels about right on the timing. I really enjoyed that Breaks/Fu bout that you didn't care for. Heavy on the schtick but I found it fun and probably the last great Breaks bout (for me).
  15. I can only echo what has already been written. I'm not hugely into current WWE so that one really isn't an issue for me, but I always enjoyed checking out 'the comments that don't warrant a thread' thread.
  16. They need to make sure they're able to have 'Bad Reputation' as her entrance theme as well.
  17. Kowalski looked old in the 70s footage of him that I've seen, so must've looked positively ancient in 1987!
  18. Rules out Sandow then.

    Updates!

I was really getting in to watching a bunch of the old WOS discs that I had last year, but then had my interest killed my some of the posters on here. For what it's worth I came out of my watching and Steve Grey would've ranked the highest. I never expected that anyone would surpass Jim Breaks, and whilst if I could only watch the matches of one person that would be Breaks, Grey does him for consistency, longevity and didn't have any stinkers that Breaks had (against the likes of Bainbridge, Johnson and Kamakazi for starters, and I'm not including Grey's tags with Daddy here). Both appeared in my two favourite matches (Grey vs Cortez from '81 and Breaks vs Cortez from '76), but would probably rank the Grey one higher. Cortez would be third and Haward fourth, whilst I never got round to my Marty Jones rewatching.

    The Nomination Thread

Quickly grabbed this link and there are a bunch of reviews of Mason matches in this thread. Others have been nominated off the back of reviews on other boards/forums so can't see why he can't be nominated through these? http://z11.invisionfree.com/wrestling_ko/index.php?showtopic=4266&st=100
  21. I'm pretty sure he was still in OVW in 2005 feuding with Punk in long as matches before getting called up the next year. I can't remember the timeline of whether he was in ROH pre or post WWE. Jamie Noble definitely returned from ROH around this time and so possibly did Jimmy Yang as well.
  22. Goldberg and Rogan have been terrible for years, going through the motions, and progressively getting worse with each passing show. I feel Sean Wheelock and Jimmy Smith from Bellator are a far better commentary duo. Going back a while I was a big fan of Todd Harris and Frank Mir in WEC. I know Mir had his favorites (Miguel Angel Torres for one) but thought they really complimented each other well and it was a shame Harris never really got a shot in the UFC.
  23. Well, that's not true. I'm on no social media, I don't post while shows are on, I don't get bogged down in the conversations about it, maybe I just like watching live wrestling? I thoroughly subscribe to "Everything is better live", be it wrestling, gigs, or Wales trouncing England next Friday night. I agree with Butch, and have zero interest in being a part of 'the big conversation'. If I watch something live I want to engross myself completely in it, be that wrestling, MMA, whatever. The last thing I want to be doing is going online, checking forums, tweeting, posting etc. After the events over, absolutely, but never while it's going on.
