It's so hilariously backwards that apparently neither Ambrose or Reigns (you have to figure that spot #7 goes to Rollins... right? Can we trust them to do that, at least? Or do they think that putting him in that environment so soon after the turn will re-endear him to the fans?) will be in the ladder match but ADR will.

I'd guess that it'll be Ambrose/Reigns vs Rollins/HHH at MITB or a singles match with all involved somehow. There's no point to putting Rollins in the ladder match if he won't win the title. Except for the gloriously sick bumps he'd take.

I haven't caught Raw yet off of DVR, but the opening segment of Main Event has the crowd chanting "BO-RING" quite loudly at Seth Rollins as he attempts to explain the rationale for his turn.

This, of course, is coming on the heels of Triple H effectively burying Daniel Bryan as former champion. "You people deserve better. You deserve a champion that can defend his title."

And now Ziggler comes out (again) to interrupt, gettting virtually no reaction. They're firing on all cylinders tonight.

I'm figuring an Ambrose/Reigns run-in during the match to screw Orton out of the title. Just a thought, has there been any news about how the powers that be feel about Sami Zayn being ready to come up? It'd be a neat bit of continuity if he were to replace Rollins in the group, given that he'd made some pro-Shield tweets not long after they formed.

I will say, I really hate the idea of filling out the third spot with a new Shield member and carrying on - if you're breaking up this unit it isn't to keep things lateral, it's to elevate them all individually. Putting a new guy in the role will draw comparisons and it'll never work because they won't be pushed as hard, so I just don't see the upside.

I'm torn. I still think the way this works best is as Triple H's apprentice and you kind of need the long hair and facial hair for that, or at least the long hair, but he should probably sell out and totally go corporate by cutting the hair, shaving etc. Being in a suit most of the time and what have you. I also think he should start working like a dick and tease dives but not do them and do a bunch of leverage stuff and what have you.

He should go for this look:

I can't stand it either. It simply doesn't work for a team that had the cache of The Shield for as long as they did. Any attempts to re-create that will seem cheap and forced.

Can I just say, that although I'm not a big fan of the overall WWE scene right now, there's still a lot that I enjoy. Maybe I'm on this limb by myself, or at least not with a ton of other folk, but I'm really enjoying the Lana & Rusev pairing. It's just so cheesy & over-the-top, it's like a big nostalgic throwback to the 80s. Either when WWF had all sorts of evil foreigners running around, like The Bolsheviks or just straight-up ripping off Brigitte Nielsen in Rocky IV.

I like Lana quite a bit, I think she's doing a good job & I think that the crowd will turn her babyface before too long. Rusev (not entirely sure why WWE lately has a habit of dropping people's first names) I still need to see more. He has a couple of gross spots but I need to see him work a non-squash match. Something that goes like 10 minutes. I think he could be decent though. He's certainly athletic & he has like that old Scott Norton feel about him to me.

They're going all out with the anti-American thing again. The medal presentation, the giant flag that drops down now...it's ridiculous. :P

The only parts of it I don't like are that Lana has to tell Rusev to "crush!" before putting on The Accolade. Plus, Lana is the one that is going to get over, not the wrestler, and they'll probably split them up eventually, which will leave Rusev dead in the water as just another Vladimir Koslov.

Is the goal going to be to build Rusev up & just feed him to Cena (or whomever is the top face at the time) then let him fade away into obscurity? This gimmick doesn't seem to have a real long shelf life or long-term potential.

They don't need an official third member, just a group of guys that The Shield would acknowledge as official allies (meaning NOT JUST CENA), because they know that this is a war bigger than them. As we saw on Raw, it's not like the Ambrose/Reigns friendship suddenly breaks down just because they're teaming with a new guy.

Play off of the "YOU'VE ALIENATED THE ENTIRE LOCKER ROOM!" line... the person who alienated the locker room, as part of his "master plan", was Rollins, and it's going to come back to haunt him. Again, the Authority storyline was always at its best when it was the mass of the roster against them. The faces hate a rat like Rollins and what he represents, too.

I know I'm a broken record on this at this point, but Ziggler as the mystery partner would have been an instant elevation for him that got over huge.

I'm not even a huge Ziggler fan. I just keep seeing opportunities come up like this where he would be the right guy and they go with someone else.

He's a big Eastern European dude who can move well. Obviously after he loses, he turns face and develops a EuroTrash club hopper gimmick, complete with gigantic Alex Wright dance moves. This is Vinceworld, after all.

I think Cena/Rusev would have worked really well in 2007-2008. While there was a segment of the audience booing Cena at that point, crowds are more rebellious than ever now and I can't even imagine what the crowd reaction would be. I don't see Rusev getting cheered, but I don't see Cena getting cheered either. It's also possible all the heat could go to Lana.

Hell, they could easily start building to a Ryback babyface turn that would probably get him back on track too. It seems like there are so many guys with star potential that are just doing nothing right now.

The Shield has spent their entire tenure beating up Ryback, so it would be weird. Ziggler would definitely work and maybe it would give his character an edge?
