That wasn't in Part One and I hadn't gotten to part two yet. It wasn't about that at all. It was about the booking and the fact that Axel was clearly there to build up Hunter's feud with Brock. He was a sacrificial lamb. Later on, he was there as a stooge for Heyman vs Punk, and not even the main one, which was Ryback. Axel was positioned to get beaten over and over again. That has nothing to do with being a good fit or not. From his first moment on TV, he was there to fail. Hunter emasculated him and instead of beating the crap out of him, he just took it and tried to look tough. It's one of the worst three debuts of the century.

I love RybAxel. They're like a throw-back tag team to the 80's for me. Ryback is like the bully in every teen movie from the 80's. It's priceless. I, too, wish they played up the dumb jock thing more. They're a pretty good team, honestly. There's just not a lot of them flying around in WWE right now. Usos Vs. RybAxel has happened so many times already for no reason that it would be hard to make a crowd care about it now. I wouldn't be mad at them getting a run with the belts though. Maybe after The Ascension gets called-up & topples the Usos, WWE will look at RybAxel again & try to do something with them.

Heyman did talk about Axel on Jericho's podcast, and his take on it wasn't anything different than what some of us said at the time. The Punk-Heyman program was hot, but because Brock is never around they needed a guy to plug in as Heyman's proxy. He said it did Axel no favors at all because a) he wasn't at Punk's level, and B) if they really wanted to build him up/push him he shouldn't be losing matches, and Punk shouldn't have been losing either. It was a glorified jobber role to get Punk/Heyman over. He didn't mention names of who would have been better in the spot, but I imagine he would have rather had someone like Big Show or a rotating cast of monster of the week jobbers, maybe old ECW guys in one off spots. He put over Axel as a talent and boiled it down to wrong time/wrong place/bad fit for the situation

I haven't seen Sasha Banks in the ring, but I hope she is better there than she is as a personality with the awful overacting.

I had never seen her work before & just assumed she sucked. The first time I ever saw her actually wrestle was on NXT against Bayley in a match that I just assumed would be a Bayley showcase match. I was wrong. It was in the first round of the NXT Women's Title Tournament.

I won't say she's great because that would be hyperbole. I will say, she impressed me & was a lot better than I thought she was going to be. I think she has potential.

Seriously, I really hope that isn't true. Cameron being arrested for DRIVING DRUNK and lying to the police on the spot about it but still being pushed on TV and still keeping her job should really make Emma's petty theft a non-issue. Not that petty theft, assuming it was an intentionally criminal act, is not big deal, but really that wouldn't sit well with me.

She has been one of the main ones mentioned in the Trips vs. Kevin Dunn war so chalk this up as a win for the Dunn side.

Yeah, I feel like Vince had no compunction about letting her go because of Dunn giving her the very inorganic introduction that she received, plus it's an excuse to cut payroll. A shitty, shitty excuse to cut payroll, but it's still there.

That's the thing. She doesn't really have the stuff to get over with the bigger crowds. It just never took off.

Don't know if I buy that about her, Rose, Bo, or anyone else who's getting called up. They've been saddled with gimmicks that took time to get over in NXT but grew naturally. On the main roster, they get thrust in front of everyone without 99% of people knowing where their character came from. Of course that makes them look bad, but it shouldn't be a sign that they lack what it takes to get over.

I'm sure it's not a coincidence that the only recent NXT callups that amounted to anything were protected like the Shield or the Wyatts, The jury's still out on Bo, but I think he has the charisma to get over regardless. If I was a conspiracy minded person, I would say it's almost like Dunn saw these guys getting over and thought "wow, all the guys Hunter oversees are getting over, I better put a stop to that".

The real test will be when the Ascension get called up, no way Hunter will stand for them getting the usual main roster half-ass push since he's had a major hard on for those guys for a while now.
