shakla
I thought AJ's promos last night were cringe-inducing. Just trying too hard to be edgy. And she's supposed to be a face, right? If so, why? Plus playing her theme after the "sexually transmitted" promo despite losing the match, hate when they do that.

C.S.
Apparently the rating was the best since August off of the PPV. For that Raw. Â Because everyone tuned in expecting Sting. The internet diehards knew he wouldn't be there, but most of the audience thought he'd show up. Lots of disappointed fans. WWE really dropped the ball. Nothing new there, unfortunately. Sean Liska
It's still the right move to hold him off the show. Look at the guy. Less is going to be a lot more during this run. I wouldn't have him on TV a lot heading into Mania, let him maintain his aura until then.
EricR
Phil and I were talking earlier that it's weird that Sheamus and Cesaro had the best match at Night of Champions, and now two months later one of them is relegated to a short pre-show loss and the other isn't even on the PPV. I haven't been watching as much of the TV lately, so I imagine Cesaro's stock has really fallen and Sheamus is hurt or something?
goc
Having good matches on TV or PPV in WWE doesn't really mean anything. Cesaro has essentially been trending downwards since WrestleMania and Sheamus was back to doing nothing about 2-3 weeks after his return.
pol
Cesaro hasn't been doing too hot for a while, but there really does seem to have been a noticeable downturn in his fortunes since he made that statement about not needing to see Orton vs. Cena for the 9000th time a couple months ago. cm funk
Cesaro was getting a lot of face pops early this year, the swing and his other offense was getting over huge, and he was primed for a big babyface turn. They even did the Andre the Giant battle royale at WM as a showcase to seemingly lead to this big turn and a feud with his former partner Swagger. Then they totally drop the ball on it immediately and he's a heel with Paul Heyman for no reason when the fans had been begging to cheer for him. It was amazing how fast they squashed his heat after actually playing him up and putting him over and building to the babyface turn and feud with Swagger for months. Â Just speaks to the schizo booking and constant treadmill 95% of the roster is on. When they actually do stuff with Cesaro for a few weeks his heat comes back, but then they turn around and push him down to "his spot" again. It's insane. goc
Sheamus got injured when doing a fake injury angle to get him out of Survivor Series I haven't really seen too much news to confirm whether he's actually injured or not. Strummer
so Nikki Bella's promo on AJ was clearly heavily edited on SD. Probably 30 seconds of it at most made air. Great timing there.

pol
WWE may be missing a great opportunity to run shows without the GM / Commissioner model which has been worn out. Â They probably barely remember it ever being different at this point. Not to mention it's a great band-aid for the shows lacking any long term direction or logic. goc
If they really wanted to mess with Punk they should try and shoehorn AJ into an onscreen relationship with Roman Reigns in the weeks before WrestleMania so she can be at ringside for the main event. Assuming they go with the rumored Reigns vs. Brock main event.

It still comes up every time she loses. There are some fans who want to think that the wrestlers take things as seriously as they do. Every loss is a "message."Â Â You can probably blame knowing way too much about how petty promoters/bookers/other wrestlers have been through the decades on that! Probably something else you can blame the internet going too far in destroying the old kayfabe model on! Â A little serious about that, there are way too many instances of things being done due to pettiness (and I'm not even talking about screwjobs) that I can see how fans trying to sound way to smart would see a loss to be a "message" or "punishment" rather than an actual part of the ongoing narrative of that character's storyline. fakeplastictrees
I don't like all this fake edginess going on right now in WWE. It's one thing if AJ Lee is doing it, though completely tiresome, as its expected. But now its to the point where KNOWN company dick suckers like Cena and The Bellas are acting as if they are 'with it' and rebelling against The Machine. Nikki Bella complaining about her promo being cut is like someone in the top 1% of this country complaining about the engine in his/her Ghost dying and being forced to drive the Bugatti or one of the other 10 luxury cars sitting in the 2 mile long driveway. I really hope that this Punk interview doesn't turn WWE into some corporate version of The Attitue Era.
