KrisZ Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Show has become one of the premier PPV workers over the past year Quote
Grimmas Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Missed the opening due to watching puppy videos on youtube with my wife. However, this tag match is pretty fun so far. I read the recap on the observer page and Dolph unifying the belts highly intrigues me. I really would prefer the belts unified, I am glad they are, at least, teasing it. Quote
Exposer Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Team Hell No vs. Rhodes Scholars (WWE Tag Title) This was okay. There were some dead spots and Kane fucking up the swinging neck breaker was silly. I'm shocked Rhodes Scholars didn't win. Quote
goodhelmet Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Hell NO vs. Rhodes Scholars - I enjoyed this. Everything looked good until the awkward neckbreaker thing from Sandow. It feels like these guys have an epic tag team in them but I don't know if WWE will ever let them have it. Still, enjoyable tag and so far, so good. Quote
Dylan Waco Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 I liked that interview bit. That tag match was fun. Nothing outstanding, but pretty good. Bryan looked sharp as always and I thought the heel control was well worked. Quote
anarchistxx Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 The tag was just kind of there, nothing different to a regular TV match. Watchable but nothing special. At least the right team won - I'm not sold at all on the Rhodes/Sandow team, they are pretty boring if you ask me. Sandow needs to ditch that blueblood snob gimmick as well, it was terrible and dated twenty years ago when Trips was working it. Regal is the only person to have halfway pulled it off, and Sandow isn't no Regal, he seems really forced on the mic from what I've seen but maybe that's just the gimmick constraints he's under. They sure waste a lot of time on PPVs with recaps and videos etc, why don't they just cut all this rubbish and have two minute gaps between entrants instead of ninety seconds? Would make the Rumble match feel a lot less rushed and clustered. Quote
Loss Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 I love the Nate Silver Rumble stats stuff. I thought that was tremendous! Quote
Grimmas Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Wait... besides the Rumble and Punk-Rock is there any other matches? I don't remember the Rumble going on so early before. Quote
anarchistxx Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Royal Rumble match already? The pacing on this show is all wrong. If they had cut all the dreary padding they could have got Miz/Cesaro on the card and had the world title match third. The whole WWE charitable moral saviour stuff is laughable. "Be yourself, embrace the fact you are different'. From the company where almost everyone has the same clean cut, chiselled, bland look and half the 80s and 90s wrestlers died young under pressure to get the steroid look to fit in. Quote
WingedEagle Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 #2 - Jericho. Now I'm sitting up. Quote
anarchistxx Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 That picked the show up just a bit. Ziggler/Jericho at Wrestlemania? Quote
goodhelmet Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Why don't I remember Jericho vs. Ziggler? Quote
anarchistxx Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 I don't recall it either. 'You still got it' chant, he was only gone for three or four months. Loved the "I never lost it baby" reply though. Quote
Loss Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Why don't I remember Jericho vs. Ziggler? Summerslam. Jericho won, then did a job with his WWE career at stake the next night. Quote
Dylan Waco Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Man I love Titus O'Neil. Not enough to be positive i'm spelling his name right but still. And that Drew Mac elimination bump ruled. Quote
Grimmas Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 I really want a Goldust and Cody feud. So bad. Quote
anarchistxx Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Goldust/Dusty v Rhodes/Sandow would be a fun little match. Quote
anarchistxx Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Mysterio looks horrible. Is he just rusty or is he usually this bad nowadays? Quote
goodhelmet Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 That Kane-Bryan spot was awesome!!!! Quote
WingedEagle Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Pure gold. Absolutely hilarious. Quote
WingedEagle Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Is it just me or do the ropes look unusually loose? Quote
jpchicago23 Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 No shelton or carlito. Maybe on raw tomorrow Quote
Exposer Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Great Rumble. The surprise entrants were great. Godfather was tremendous. Slater's 360 bump ruled. There were some really great spots. Cena winning is annoying but it was fun one this year. Quote
anarchistxx Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Overall the Rumble was a bit drab, despite the surprises. The Bryan/Kane and Kofi spots were fantastic though. Didn't seem as special not going last. Quote
Strummer Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 As I mentioned earlier they go the safe route. Cena wins the Rumble. They aren't taking any chances this year in terms of swerves and changing stuff because of predictability Quote
