Yeah it gives me hope that we'll get a little bit more diversified content over the next month or two, although Dave seemingly not having much faith in stuff like Mid South or some of the other territories being of priority is a little concerning.

Why do they think people want WCCW so much? What a weird choice of all the territories.

I honestly hope we get a bunch of random Canadian stuff to placate them because we're not getting a bunch of anything else.

It was already on the 24-7 so a lot of the work is already done on it to get it ready for the network.

For all I, and everyone else, has complained about the lack of weekly TV content, I know for a fact that if they do a big bulk upload of Nitro, Raw and Hardcore TV to the end of 95, I'll probably put down another 6 month commitment. If they're focusing on that period for uploading old stuff, I hope that when the time comes around, they get Thunder and Smackdown up as they come along in the timeline.

I'd much rather Mid South instead of WCCW and I imagine it's like that for almost everyone. I'm not sure what their logic is behind WCCW aside from it was already on Classics on Demand so some of the work is already done.

Also, do you really hope that they upload Thunder?

Totally. I want to relive everything in chronological order

I'm hoping for WORLDWIDE. I'm holding my breath and expect to die!

It was on WWE 24/7, so it's ready to go. Them wanting to add it is another issue.

Wasn't it mostly 93 with a few random episodes of other years? I'd love to see episodes from 86 or 87.

I want All American Wrestling. I want that Wrestling Spotlight show. I want Mania I want everything in chronological order. I am insane.

I hope they get back to putting those up, I know the reason why they stopped was that they weren't getting much attention but I think if you keep putting stuff up it'll attract enough attention. The house shows frankly were a big reason why I subscribed in the first place.

Digitizing the content is likely what is setting them back there, and with regard to their other libraries.

Correct. Started around 4/93, if I recall.

I continue to hope and believe that they'll upload the 1985-88 WCW(SN) episodes that already cleared 24/7, and of course the whole run after that. Same with Worldwide, MACW, etc.

I believe that this is true, it just baffles me that after 10+ years of developing the library and trying to monetize it, they don't have a bunch of this ready to go. I would have hired a whole staff in about 2002 that had no job other than digitizing every single thing in the joint. I know it's 100,000+ hours, but it seems like they'd have more done, at least of the more obviously marketable stuff.

(I know Mid-South was a late acquisition, though.)

And I too miss the house shows--it's especially galling that they're withholding quite a few that aired multiple times on 24/7, and some that never did, like the Boot Camp Match. For as often as they've repeat-released things, that match never aired on 24/7 that I recall, and is only on the otherwise-awful, repeat-filled Madison Square Garden DVD.

In particular, adding closed captioning to everything seems to be the most difficult part. I don't know if upping the stuff on CoD (whether the video-on-demand version or the web version) makes it easier to up it to The Network, but I'm assuming that's the case.

I was going to post about how I'd love to take the job of doing closed captioning for them but then I thought about transcribing Bill Mercer. Probably doesn't pay enough.

From this week's schedule:

Smackdown Flashback - beginning with 8/26/99 and the 'network premiere', it looks like they may be showing Smackdown from the beginning? This is not a 'best of' and other flashbacks are scheduled during the week - 9/1/99, 9/8/99, 9/15/99.

Wrestlemania Rewind - Wrestlemania 15, Austin/Rock

Beyond the Ring - not sure I've seen episodes for Lesnar and Randy Orton before, and they are showing this week

Best of Raw - 6/6/10 - 'This first ever viewers choice episode may be for the fans, but it's the debuting nexus that truly takes over the show.'

Best of Smackdown - 7/4/01 - 'Booker T defends the WCW Title against Diamond Dallas Page. Stone Cold Steve Austin has a surprise gift for Kurt Angle and Mr. McMahon.'
