Wahoos Leg Posted June 7, 2015 Report Posted June 7, 2015 I'd be interested in contributing to this if there's room
JerryvonKramer Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 I think we should get this show on the road before interest dwindles.
Grimmas Posted June 8, 2015 Author Report Posted June 8, 2015 I'd be interested in contributing to this if there's room You can if you want Vancouver. I think we should get this show on the road before interest dwindles. We can really start the draft anytime now.
El Boricua Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 Wahoo needs to make his save right Yeah, Wahoo (if he confirms he's taking Vancouver) and Peachchaos I think are the ones left to make their save picks. I think we still have to codify how we are handling the freelancers. The more i think about it, they should probably be assigned to a territory that would serve as their handler for working other dates. that way they have a territory to work at when they are not out on other dates, but they have to be handles in such a way where they are not hogged or restricted by their handler territory. With wrestlingdata currently down I can't check the proportion but in general you get the following: Andre the Giant - Although he does travel and works dates for different territories, these are mostly one shots. The bulk of his time is either in Japan or WWF. Bruiser Brody - He moves around but it seems to be within the same 3-4 areas. In 83 he goes back and forth from Japan, Texas, Central States/St. louis and even some Florida. Abdullah the Butcher - Works a lot in Japan and Puerto Rico, with wrestlingdata down can't confirm where else. Mil Mascaras - Mexico and spot dates in the U.S and Puerto Rico. (can't confirm with wrestlingdata down where he was visiting with more frequency). Would The Sheik be considered a freelancer also? We do need to get this and the procedure for requesting dates on the NWA champ codified to avoid confusion later.
KrisZ Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 At that time Brody was working World Class mainly, Hansen was working GCW, Abby was working CWF, & Mil was WWF.
Wahoos Leg Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 Do I just make my save pick in this thread?
El Boricua Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 Yes, just look at the Vancouver roster in the roster list thread and pick someone to keep from that list. Welcome aboard!
JerryvonKramer Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 Brody was blacklisted from a lot of places right?
KrisZ Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 Brody worked all the major territories after this time period actually so no
JerryvonKramer Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 Was he ever blacklisted from anywhere Kris?
KrisZ Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 He was pretty much blacklisted from the territories a year before his death.....Florida & World Class withstanding
JerryvonKramer Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 I was going on stuff I'd heard in the long Buck Robley shoots with Gary Cubetta. I take everything Robley said with a pinch of salt though.
JerryvonKramer Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 Incidentally, for the purposes of this game, Brody is blacklisted from WWF:D
KrisZ Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 That's funny because they wanted him BAD in April 1984
KrisZ Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 I was going on stuff I'd heard in the long Buck Robley shoots with Gary Cubetta. I take everything Robley said with a pinch of salt though. Brody & Robley were definitely tight though.....if Buck was booking somewhere Brody was definitely going to come in and make shots for him
JerryvonKramer Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 Have you ever hear anyone else tell the story about Brody holding up the world title vs. Flair in St Louis? Circa 84-5.
goc Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 I've never heard anything that corroborated that Robley story.
Wahoos Leg Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 Yes, just look at the Vancouver roster in the roster list thread and pick someone to keep from that list. Welcome aboard! I'll take Honkytonk Man.
Flyin' Brian Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 I guess the two solutions for the freelancers are to let the person that drafts them handle the bookings, or put them up for redraft after a set period of time. If it is the person that drafts them, there probably should be a set time period there too that the person can keep them in between bookings.
KrisZ Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 Well the thing is they did a lot of Japan tours so they won't even be around a whole lot.
JerryvonKramer Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 Yes, just look at the Vancouver roster in the roster list thread and pick someone to keep from that list. Welcome aboard! I'll take Honkytonk Man. !!!!
El Boricua Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 Yes, just look at the Vancouver roster in the roster list thread and pick someone to keep from that list. Welcome aboard! I'll take Honkytonk Man. !!!! Considering the Vancouver roster, either he or Ron Starr would have been my pick from that group.
JerryvonKramer Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 Yeah, I was just looking at that. Man, what a roster. I'd probably take ... Dean Ho??
