goc
To me this isn't really a competition, outside of perhaps the drafting part. It's just a creative writing outlet using the medium of professional wrestling. So I find much more value in getting the guys I would enjoy booking more than getting bigger names or having a "national TV time slot." The roleplaying aspect of being a carny wrestling promoter also has some appeal. I'm really enjoying working with others here, doing joint shows, talent trades, etc... It is a part that I didn't think about when I signed up, but it's been a lot of fun. Yea this part has been fun. Especially defending the honor of the territory system against those with hungry eyes looking across the whole map of the United States... Grimmas
Are you all communists? I thought this was meant to be Ameri ... I mean yeah, great, spirit of cooperation!! There is a private message chat going on with every Canadian promotion to do a lot of joint things. Info coming soon. That one makes perfect sense, since we area all; socialist pigs. This is a great idea. Definitely makes it a harder place to break into for someone who might be thinking about expansion...
TravJ1979
I'd say 90% of my picks have been picked before my turn so far. Creative booking here I come.
goc
I'd say 90% of my picks have been picked before my turn so far. Creative booking here I come. Had this same problem. But I managed to carny my way back into David Von Erich and then losing The Moondogs put someone on my board I'd honestly not even thought about. Beast
I haven't started to even plan anything at all regarding my roster yet because of how fluid everything has to be. I'm filling slots (Flair is my keystone, Hayes the rebel to challenge the franchise, Gordy his giant compadre, Shultz the intense wild card, and Sheik the amateur grappler), but how they interact with one another and how I want to begin won't be decided until I have at least ten guys. My original idea of building around tag teams has died. Building around Martel-Valetine as the top babyface/heel is still good to go though. If my picks go the way I hope the do, then I have a general plan laid out now. We will see who can steal the guys I need. I think I am done with big names though. goc
Southwest Championship Wrestling would like to promise to everyone else that it will not waste their time trying to get cute about drafting rules while they are actively on the clock. rainmakerrtv
I always felt the brand new tag teams and creative booking was part of the fun of any Fantasy fed. I remember I had a TNM fed loosely based around Mid South and I had the Rock and Roll Express and the Fantastics in at the same time. During a long singles Round Robin tournament, Ricky Morton quit, followed by Bobby Fulton then Robert Gibson. So I paired up Rodgers with Terry Taylor as The Terrifics, and they became one of my favorite fictional tag teams.
goc
I don't mind waiting 8 hours on someone to make a pick because they are at work and can't check the board in any way. I do kind of have a problem with waiting 3 hours on Saturday morning to argue over the semantics of what is and isn't a tag team when we could probably be halfway into the 5th round by now if this pick was already made at 8-9ish when it could have been. goc
That doesn't make it better to make everyone wait at a time when we had talked about trying to run through a whole bunch of picks. No one else has waited for a decision while on the clock. If it was this big a deal he should have just sent a PM in the first place instead of a thread where we dance around the situation but have to keep our cards close. Beast
This is more fun if you imagine Joe Blanchard getting upset at Don Owen for stalling and trying to get Paul Jones on the phone for clarification of draft rules while Jack Tunney tries to mediate. dawho5
I'd like to see this done too, but it's a new thing for most of us. When the redrafts come around I think we will be better prepared for how it works and it will go more smoothly. For now we just gotta try to figure it out without blowing it up in the meantime.
