JerryvonKramer
I'll say that I'm pretty fed up of taking shit at this point.
goc
I was honestly not giving you shit.
Matt D
To be fair, the Briscos had that great match in NYC with Murdoch/Adonis in 84. And the crowd was absurdly hot for that. Especially the finish. I think that it was easier for them to connect to Murdoch/Adonis than it would be to Ole/Lars.
Beast
This is probably why Vince declared war in the first place guys. Playing with fire... Â And it's Cross Face's fault I took Casey, because I was originally angling for Billy Jack.
goc
I'll say that I'm pretty fed up of taking shit at this point. I know I have given you a lot of shit over the past few days but it's not personal dude. I made a post earlier in this thread about Southwest wanting to bury the hatchet with WWF and you didn't respond to that or my PM to you later. Â You kind of set yourself up as the heel in this thing, talking down to people about how "Jerry Lawler should be thrilled to do a job in MSG!" and arguing about who has what city. People gave you shit about it. I'm ready to drop it now though because I feel like you might be taking it too serious and I don't want you to not have fun. TravJ1979
Me too. Round 8 decimated me. Six guys went off my list: Â The Grappler Al Perez JJ Dillon Jos Leduc Billy Jack Bobby Jaggers
Matt D
Also, Parv, part of why we were making fun a round or two ago is that we never expected you to actually keep picking old guys. It started as sort of an affectation where we could see you going for Brisco since he's one of your guys and you've seen so much footage, but then it came coming and coming. To the point we kept expecting someone completely different so the more of the same started to seem like a routine. We never actually expected you to pick Ole or Jerry Brisco, let alone Lars. We thought you had that old veteran role tied up, and you kept going back to the well.
JerryvonKramer
Lars Anderson was 44 in 1983, Ole was 41, Jack was 42, Jerry was 37. Â In pro wrestling terms these guys are not ancient. In your perception they may be because Jack and Jerry retired in 84, Ole retired more or less in 86 and Lars Anderson kinda disappeared and went to Hawaii. Â Ole can talk. Jack can wrestle. Â The real-life MSG crowd were literally watching the Strongbows vs. Wild Samoans on a regular basis. Â First I got shit for taking big names. Â The one time I took a guy for a "need" (Lars, who gives me a tag division), I get shit for that. Â What is this about?
peachchaos
It is a good thing Vince and Stu have a working relationship, as many of the top young talents are being groomed in Calgary while the best veterans the sport has ever seen are playing on the big stage at MSG. JerryvonKramer
Incidentally, Matt, Nick Bockwinkel, your hero, was 49 in 1983.
goc
I think you are just being too defensive about roster criticism. You think some people made bad "regional" picks and weren't afraid to share that opinion. If you like your roster and will enjoy booking it then who gives a shit? Â I almost think that factors into it. You don't know why Boon gets praised for his roster and you haven't.
KrisZ
Parv has a good 1983 name roster at the top.
TravJ1979
I , for one, look forward to reading about the WWF shows. Â When it comes down to it, the booking is going to be the interesting thing. You can have an All-Star roster, but if your booking sucks, it's not going to entertain. I really look forward to the different styles and see if the booking matches their analysis on other areas of the board of both old and current product. El Boricua
My apologies Parv, although my comment was more a reference to your dislike of the Strongbows than to your drafting. I think you've got a really good base roster going, if a bit unWWF for the time (although that's part of the fun of this type of exercise). As long as you are getting guys you want to work with, that's what counts.
Matt D
Incidentally, Matt, Nick Bockwinkel, your hero, was 49 in 1983. Â And using him, alongside four or five other old guys on top, gets you the 1983 AWA roster. Â Which was one of the jokes I used before. Â That said, I'm looking forward to seeing the WWF shows too. I want to see Parv prove me wrong.
TravJ1979
And really, when it comes to criticism goc, you are the one posting in almost everyone's thread complaining, correcting, and insulting. I especially look forward to reading your shows. I personally predict they aren't going to be that good and you are also my prediction for the first to leave the game. That will be most likely due to something not going your way.
goc
That's cool. Â I'm sorry some people would take something like "I don't think Mid-South ran that many Superdome shows" as harsh criticism instead of trying to help but ok.
Flyin' Brian
Â Will Parv take Angelo Poffo, Dick the Bruiser, or Larry Hennig? Can Dick the Bruiser go sixty? I have Angelo poffo because he's my owner, right?
goc
No.
Dylan Waco
I , for one, look forward to reading about the WWF shows. Your roster can be great but if you can't book it won't mean shit. In some cases not getting guys has saved me from myself. My idea of booking Wiskowksi and The Moondogs as white nationalist babyfaces in Idaho and heels in Oregon was probably ill advised.
goc
Wow how unfortunate we didn't end up getting THAT. Â Like seriously. I would have loved to see you try and write out how that works lol

goc
JVK you pissed me off in this game, I pissed you off in this game there's no reason to drag it on forever though. Â Especially when you still need someone to help you get back your lost wrestling collection. Â We could be plotting together how to split up Fritz's territory right now instead of fighting. shoe
Gotta say guys with all the arguing and shit talking it's just like the old NWA meetings. Except they'd be doing it behind each others backs.
goc
For the record, I have not talked of killing JVK while Matt D listened in the bathroom stall.
