To be fair, he's been underutilized since he was Shawn Spears in OVW. I don't think people believe he's being buried, the fans just seem to like the guy and for whatever reason the TEN gimmick struck a chord. No one is complaining that he jobs all the time, his role is to be the WWE Style Veteran for the noobs and new-to-the-system guys to get acclimated with.

I guess maybe you could argue it was odd for them to give a gimmick like that to a guy they didn't plan on pushing, or for them to not do anything with the guy once he caught on, but drawing money isn't the point of NXT.

They sort of pulled a main roster by getting rid of Blue Pants for being too over. Tye is clearly too over for his current role, and has become the Sandow of NXT. It was a bad move putting a debuting babyface against a guy as over as Dillinger. I'm personally not that big a fan of his. I think he's decent in ring, with a bush league look and gimmick. However the fans dig it so you may as well print up some merch, and give the guy a little push to see what happens.

I like Biff, but what the hell kind of a name is Oney Lorcan?

Same kind of name as:

- Westley Blake

- Buddy Murphy

- Dash Wilder

- Scott Dawson

- etc.

For all of the great things NXT does, coming up with names isn't one of them.

With the possible exception of Dash Wilder, the rest of those are at least legit names. Not flashy perhaps, but a name you would hear. I mean, Lorcan is an Irish *FIRST* name (and not a very common one), so why the hell did they make it a last name? And Oney? The hell is that? Plus they sound terrible together. Gives you no feel for the guy. Total head scratcher.

Favorite things about last night:

-Nak's actually getting how to wrestle on WWE TV. He's doing cool little things that only he can do with his charisma and it really adds to matches. I know they aren't the matches his fans are used to seeing from him, but I enjoy him figuring out how to work guys like Buddy Murphy and actually make them compelling matches because he knows how to work some different things in.

-Corey Graves totally calling out Tom Phillips on the idea that whoever he's around gets fired in an offhand comment had me HOWLING.

-Nia Jax went to the powerbomb for the finish. FINALLY.

Man, people's standards have really dropped if fucking Westley Blake and Buddy Murphy are considered good names now. They're awful names. It is impossible to take anyone with the names Westley or Buddy seriously. This ain't the 1960s when Buddy was a viable wrestling name. Dash Wilder is even worse. (I'll concede that Scott Dawson is a perfectly fine name - albeit boring as hell.)

Sure, they're better than Oney Lorcan or Andrade "Cien" Almas, but that isn't saying much.

I'm guessing you guys think Curtis Axel is a brilliant name too? (Well, compared to Michael McGilliciutty, it is.)

People found it impossible to take Buddy Rogers seriously?

Did you read my entire post?!

Obviously not, so I'll quote myself...

This ain't the 1960s when Buddy was a viable wrestling name.

Really can't stand unwarranted snark, especially when it's this lazy. Come on, guys, read the entire post before commenting - not too much to ask, is it?

(Wait, I forgot - we're on the internet, so yeah, it probably is too much to ask.) :P

Loved the No Way Jose and Aries angle on the latest show. Good old school start to a feud

I particularly loved Aries showing a bit of ass by getting into the dancing for longer than you'd normally see before turning. He didn't just give a few token moves and then turn. He played into it for a while. Sometimes just playing with the timing on things like that can make it seem fresh even though you know it's coming.

"You call him 'Broski'?"

"Sure. What do you call him when you talk to him?"

"I don't. I call him 'Zack Ryder' when I talk *about* him. [pause] It's not socially acceptable to say what I call Mojo Rawley when I'm off the air."

Graves is awesome. Him and Phillips are my favorite pairing since Cole & Tazz at their Smackdown peak (and how weird does THAT feel to say?)

The last week of NXT convinced me Corey Graves is an excellent commentator. I loved when he said something like "With that top-knot and those tattoos I figured we found this guy at the local CrossFit gym."
