Johnny Sorrow Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 We're back, welcoming 2016 with an all new episode of BRAINBUSTER, the professional wrestling quiz show. Join me and Producer Matt as we welcome defending champ Marty, returning player Ryan, and for the first time our very own Parv, to the panel! Will Marty retain? Will Parv have a stroke? Will Johnny and Matt screw up keeping score? All these questions and more will be answered on the next episode of...SOAP...I mean, BRAINBUSTER! http://placetobenation.com/brainbuster-the-pro-wrestling-quiz-show-episode-8/
Eegah Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 Great great episode. Please bring Parv back for lists, I was nearly in tears at the Dibiase run. Fantastic.
The Chief Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 It's been too long, can't wait to listen to this at work
thebrainfollower Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 I actually side with Parv on this. He did manage Virgil against Savage in 88. The fact that he wasn't a licensed manager...............Bobby Heenan was a "financial consultant" NOT a manager with Slic Ric and you let him managing Flair count once I call a screwjob against JVK!
thebrainfollower Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 Never mind. Parv would have been pwned either way
RCS1988 Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 It was an epic battle and I hope my 3rd appearance will be a WIN. I was glad I got the point back for that Don Leo Jonathan response. The questions Parv got in the 10 count I would have gotten with ease.
Eegah Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 I also enjoyed envisioning Jim Neidhart shoving pills in his mouth ala Hasselhoff with burgers while stroking his beard and mumbling "Yeah baby yeah!"
TravJ1979 Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 I definitely need to invest in a headset. At first, I thought why spend the money for a one off thing, but then I realized I could possibly be a long term champ. Johnny, I'll let you know!
Goodear Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 Parv was the greatest contestant in Brainbuster history. Just because he was so stymied by everything and talked through all of his answers and agonized over the decisions. Just a blast to listen to.
Grimmas Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 I need to go back on here and prove myself. I could had took this game.
Superstar Sleeze Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 Parv was absolutely hilarious. I had to mute my mic for most of this because I was dying laughing. Most entertaining contestant ever! Hands down! I am just glad I was a part of this all.
Goodear Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 Oh god, please tell me you saved your Nephew's "Shame on you Parv" drops.
Johnny Sorrow Posted January 19, 2016 Author Report Posted January 19, 2016 Oh god, please tell me you saved your Nephew's "Shame on you Parv" drops.I think it was Producer Matt who said "Shame on you". My nephew said "Parv, you blew it" and "Parv, stop whining." And yes, Matt grabbed them for posterity. 😄And yeah, Parv was awesome. No offense to all the folks who've been on, but Parv is the best guest yet. He set the bar as far as entertaining guests go. 😎
thebrainfollower Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 Short of 1985 Bobby Heenan showing up, I don't think that bar is ever going to be reached again. I want a rigged Parv win and heel title run just for comedy's sake!
DownNDirtyTN Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 Parv needs to be a permanent guest. I had a 4 hour round trip drive for work yesterday and literally listened to this episode twice because I was laughing so hard I was crying at Parv. I legit thought he may stroke out at one point though. Fantastic episode!
Matt D Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 I once tried to explain PWO and the sort of podcasts we had here to my wife by stating that a Strip Club DJ was on a podcast with a British Shakespeare professor. One of these two is fairly, laid back, calm and composed. The other carries himself like a sweating, swearing, belligerent version of this: We live in a strange, topsy turvy world.
jpchicago23 Posted January 20, 2016 Report Posted January 20, 2016 Parv had more urgency than bubble guts in rush hour traffic. That shit was hilarious
thebrainfollower Posted January 20, 2016 Report Posted January 20, 2016 Johnny Sorrow you now have a new mission in life Get Parv on Jeopardy. Somehow, someway this MUST happen.

Former Strip Club DJ.

In fairness, I'm usually pretty calm and chilled on shows. This one being the big exception, I guess.
Timbo Slice Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 Yelled "STING!" about a dozen times to Parv on Starrcade 88.
GSR Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 It was an epic battle and I hope my 3rd appearance will be a WIN. I was glad I got the point back for that Don Leo Jonathan response. The questions Parv got in the 10 count I would have gotten with ease. Hahaha, you say this every episode! You seem to know all the answers to all the questions ever set on the show bar the ones you get asked! You always claim if you had your opponents questions you would have won, or if you were on any other episode you would have won. Hahaha.

Johnny Sorrow Posted May 2, 2016 Author Report Posted May 2, 2016 I just started writing the next show. If I throw GWE on the title and make it boring and 23 hours long will I get more listeners ?
van_Fair Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 I just started writing the next show. If I throw GWE on the title and make it boring and 23 hours long will I get more listeners ? You would have to additionally frame all the questions around objectivity vs subjectivity.
