I have never been a big advocate for Takada (relative to people that consider him an all time top 10 kind of guy) but I am still genuinely surprised how far the pendulum has swung on him.

I'll admit I should probably have actually seen more of Devil than I have, since I voted for her. But Devil Masami is cool as fuck. One of the most charismatic wrestlers of her time.

Glad my high vote on Perro got him in the top 150 but its bugs me a guy like Bigelow who was so inconsistent finished ahead of Matt Hardy who is like the model of consistency.

Why are people so upset about Triple H when Tanahashi is still around?

Even if you aren't a fan of his (I'm not) I think it's glaringly obvious Tanahashi understands how to construct a pro wrestling match much better than Triple H. His goal is to make the fangirls and the casuals lose their shit. He more than succeeds in that. The crowd heat in some of his most famed matches is outstanding. Closest Triple H got to that were The Undertaker matches but he didn't manage to accomplish something like that with the same regularity Tanahashi does.

I'll say this about Takada because I have one of the stronger negative statements about him in the entire thread. I got way more into guys that were people I thought were better at the style (Tamura), the BattlArts style workers and then finally saw Fujiwara, who combined facials and tremendous transitions in a way that Takada wasn't that great at. That's basically my reasoning behind it.

 

Today has been brutal for guys I thought I could have been the high vote on, as I went Top 25 with Kandori and Top 50 with Kikuchi, only to see both of them fall. I'm now basically 100% confident the only person I'll have as my high vote is my #1.

I had Ozaki on my ballot, but I can completely understand people not ranking her. I think that for a great wrestler (which I think she is and voted as such) there are a lot of things she does poorly. If you are a voter who places heavy emphasis on technique, or how impactful things looks, Ozaki probably isn't going to be for you. I think it's easy for someone to watch an Ozaki match, even a good one, and make a snapshot judgement that she "isn't very good". It takes a while to see how much the little things she does every match add up.
