sek69
The Twitter account for the Greensboro Coliseum just announced WWE would be bringing back Starrcade on 11/25. How about that.
El-P
Tessa Blanchard vs Charlotte Flair. Book it !

SteveJRogers
Tessa Blanchard vs Charlotte Flair. Book it ! YOUR DAD NEVER GAVE MY DAD A TITLE SHOT! YOUR DAD SHOULD HAVE STOOD UP FOR HIM IN '93 INSTEAD OF THAT PAUL ROMA PUNK!
Superstar Sleeze
As a WCW diehard, this brought a smile to my face. I really wish they would bring back the Big Gold Belt.
NintendoLogic
Don't get too excited. It looks like it's just a Smackdown house show. Here's the projected card: Booby Roode! Ricky Seamboat!
peachchaos
A very cool idea for a house show, nonetheless.
El-P
So, how long did it take for us to be intrigued to "pffff, whatever" ? Seriously, if you bring back the Starrcade name, at least do something special about it.

Seriously, if you bring back the Starrcade name, at least do something special about it. I'm generally "whatever" about everything they do. But running Starrcade on Thanksgiving weekend in Greensboro is a good idea thumbs up. Would I prefer it to be on the Network and replace Survivor Series as the Novemeber special forever and ever, correcting an age-long blunder and righting the injustices of wrestling history? Sure. But a house show is cool, too.
El-P
Yeah, I get the feeling. It's nice and all, especially if they drag Steamboat, the RnR and some other Crockett guys over there. But I dunno... Well it can't be worse than the last 2 (or 3) actual Starrcades either, so.
SirEdger
Do I think it sucks that it's a house show? Sure. But at the same time, it's gonna be feel special for a lot of old school fans in Greensboro that night. And I also wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be a WWE Network special after all. Who knows, we might be getting SuperBrawl back in February instead of Fastlane. Which would be so much better.
NickH
I cant believe that WWE has AJ Styles and Jinder Mahal is their champion. This is why I don't watch current WWE.

Jimmy James
to be fair, a lot of the NWA/WCW Starrcades were also really bad, so maybe they're just honoring the legacy that way
The Thread Killer
I imagine some folks somewhere are solemnly holding forth on desecrating the name, but WCW did that decades ago. My sentiments exactly. Any old school JCP fans who might want to complain that WWE is reviving and then doing anything negative to the legacy or memory of Starrcade only need go back and watch Starrcade 1999. I can't think of anything WWE could do to Starrcade that Vince Russo didn't already do. To me, this has Triple H written all over it. He is a confessed mark for JCP era NWA. The fact that it is in Greensboro like the first four events were, and that Ricky Steamboat and the RnR Express will be there already shows me it is more of a tribute. I'd imagine that if he is healthy enough, a certain Nature Boy might be making an appearance as well.

I can't think of anything WWE could do to Starrcade that Vince Russo didn't already do. Oh heck, there was nothing left for Russo to ruin after: - Nash d. Goldberg - The fake fast count of Sting/Hogan - Hogan/Beefcake as a main event - Two BattleBowls - The Black Scorpion - Turning the year's biggest event into a one-night round-robin in 1989 - Multiple years of scaffold match features and questionable booking in the "classic" era

iamthedoctor
The Twitter account for the Greensboro Coliseum just announced WWE would be bringing back Starrcade on 11/25. How about that. Yeah and its a flamming house show. Why can't they make it a TV taping.
Loss
They could always decide later to show it on the Network. I wish it was available on closed circuit!
Loss
Don't get too excited. It looks like it's just a Smackdown house show. Here's the projected card: Booby Roode! Ricky Seamboat! I'll pretend the misspellings are a tribute to territory wrestling and their multiple spellings of Sheik Adnan-Al Kaissie, Rick Flair, Mike Rotondo, Lex Lugar, Zambouie Express, Kerry Von Eric, etc.
sek69
I figure if they are going to put the effort to bring back a classic PPV name, it's at least going to be a Network Special. I mean, if they don't do that much what's the point?
gordi
Booby Roode and Ricky Seamboat! Together at last! They should run a house show in Minnesota in April and call it WrestleRock, one in May in Texas and call it The Parade of Champions... I'm sure you could make it a monthly event. Best thing would be seeing which old stars they could bring in for it, and how they would mis-spell their names on the poster.
Lee
I'm tickled that Clash of (the) Champions is a PPV now but Starrcade is a house show. Maybe they can add a podcast and call it Nitro.

I mean, if they don't do that much what's the point? To work people into thinking that a regular house show is suddenly a REALLY BIG DEAL because they gave it a name instead of just having it be part of whatever the tour name is at that time. Judging by the internet reaction that's worked quite well.
