I will say Miz has been fantastic in this. He's wrestling the "I'm a father now, and I'm not gonna bullshit, I'm going prove I'm great" thing and wrestling like a cagey vet very well.

I will give them credit for getting to big moves here in a logical way instead of it feeling set up. That's usually a problem I have with Triple Threats.

....Miz and Seth get special ring intros and Finn's not the Demon. I'm greatly surprised.

Why? He's not doing that gimmick anymore. WWE creative (read: Vince) didn't like the Demon look and would prefer to market Balor's naturally good looks instead. Can't do that if you're painting your body all the time.

You can make the case that The Demon would be saved for the really, really special matches. Curtain jerking 'Mania, IC Title or not, is not one of those times!

To me that is like if for a Bray Wyatt match in 2013 they had him come out at Wrestlemania in a special entrance where he was dressed up like Husky Harris. I think the Wyatt feud was meant to write the Demon out of Balor's character going forward. Now he's the smiley guy who pops his collar as girls swoon. That is far as it gets from being the Demon. Balor deserved a better entrance but Demon isn't the answer.

I liked that match much to my surprise, Miz rules.

That was better than I expected and what it should've been -- an all out sprint with everyone getting an opportunity to hit big spots, with saves, near falls and a ton of moments to hype the crowd. Good stuff!

Very fun, energetic opener. Really don't care for any of them in singles action, especially against each other, but damn that was a fun triple threat.

Totally. I have no use for a triple threat match, but this was some clean old fun with only a couple spots that I thought were daft.

Considered those 3 had a banger last year, no wonder this was very good. Insane spots and some innovation.

 

Not sure about the result, but the match itsel was a great opener.
