I think Cass got more heat by beating up Bryan after tapping, as if had beaten Bryan the fans just would have turned on him. This way they actually seemed like they were despising him as a character, not as "someone being pushed by the company".

Definitely. Just like Cass/Bryan, AJ hasn't gotten anything on Nak. Usually means the heel's losing by WWE storytelling (other than feuds involving Lesnar).
