Since when is vague rumor and hearsay not good enough to condemn a wrestler for being a bad person? You could also say there's an equal lack of proof of Triple H ever using bodybuilding hormones of any kind.

Anyway, it's not like there haven't been stories about the King floating around out there. Lawler's ephebophilia (not the exact same thing as pedophilia, look it up) has become so widely acknowledged within the industry that they've repeatedly made jokes about it on national television. He's hardly the only person within the industry to have unusual sexual preferences of some kind or another, but the combination of the rape charges and his parade of much younger wives and girlfriends have certainly helped cement that reputation both backstage and online.

No, the "proof" Re: HHH comes from looking at him and knowing the natural limitations of steroid-free bodybuilding.

Dating women in their twenties doesn't make one an ephebophile. It is kind of lame and midlife-crisis-ey, but there's nothing wrong with it. Only times I ever remember a joke about it on national TV was a Paul Heyman comment during the ECW invasion of '97. (The Doug Gilbert thing wasn't national.)

I would rather have Lawler baby sit my little cousins, then have you babysit them

This is pure trolling. If you want to start something because of whatever than take it to pm or something because I'm not trolling with you or anyone today.

The point was that there's no proof he's ever done that.

And my point is that common sense tells one to be cautious around Lawler.

What wrestler wouldn't you be cautious around? Especially in this post Benoit world.

They've done it countless times on commentary. JR has made some comments about various young divas being "too old" for the King on multiple occasions. One specific example I remember is from that WWE/ECW crossover show they did on a Wednesday night before ONS2, when Tazz made a crack or two about Lawler scouting out new girlfriends at the local high school. The only other person I can recall getting this kind of consistent mocking of their sexuality in snide asides is Pat Patterson, and, well, all those gay-bashing jokes Ross kept hitting on him did have that kernel of truth of course. I'm aware that just random throwaway mutterings on commentary don't represent any kind of evidence, but there's been more than enough hearsay on other fronts to at least make one suspicious. IIRC, Miss Kitty might've been underage when they first hooked up. And for what it's worth, I've heard a couple vague stories from a few old Memphis guys who talked about Lawler's preference for young meat. Nothing I'd care to repeat here since the sources weren't always credible and the tales ventured into libel territory, but the rumors of that sort of thing involving Jerry have been around for a long time.

I'd imagine that all the jokes are told BECAUSE he was not guilty of that charge added to the fact he likes to bang young hot chicks. If the worst thing you can say about an old guy is that he bangs girls in their early twenties...

And the weird "I'm a fan of Calgary and hate Memphis" thing that's going on here is really far more creepy than Lawler banging chicks half his age.

Lots of regular sexualy snide asides were also aimed at Ross. Heyman, and Cornette as being homosexuals on commentary as well.

I'm trying to remember which face Flair always talked about as having hard time swallowing his nut.

I wsa going to toss this into the WO columnists thread, but it's Alvarez with stuff in the update.

Raw was down to a 3.16 this week from last week's 3.33 so hopefully someone doesn't freak out and decide good, long wrestling matches are a bad idea.

Yes, because having good, long wrestling matches is more important than having quality storylines that people enjoy, even if the latter is what really lends itself to better ratings for wrestling shows.

In Bryan's defense, I think what he is saying is that he hopes WWE doesn't interpret the ratings as fans being actively turned away by good wrestling. But Bryan is weird and almost always reads too much into everything, so who knows. He actually thought originally that WWE released him for being the weak link in a tag with Jericho against HHH and Michaels if I recall.

That said, I think Dave and Bryan pay far more attention and do far more analysis of the ratings than WWE does, and I don't see them freaking out over a 0.17 drop.

ETA: By "him", I meant Lance Cade.

Speaking of very good matches, I caught the end of Jericho vs Punk which was well very good. I'm glad that the WWE brought in Punk. The first WWE match I've watched in about six months so it brought a smile to my face to see that the Ontario crowd still rules.

Not to rehash the Lawler thing, but I thought it was common knowledge that Uncle Jerry liked the not-quite-legal girls but gets away with it because he's basically Jesus Christ in Memphis. Like, the one who sued him, I seem to recall at the time that the story was she recanted because Lawler (or his representatives) pretty much told her there's no way anyone in Memphis would convict the "King".
