"It was Vince's intention to write himself out, and there are no plans for him to return to the ring," WWE spokesman Robert Zimmerman said by e-mail.

Wow! Vince got Bob Dylan as a spokesman? I knew he was the voice of a generation, but not of the WWE.

Dawn steroid abuser ? Why would she take steroids ? Lose some fat ? She supposedly never cared for traning hard, so that could be it. Dawn did aged terribly and way quickly during her WWE stint. Compare her face when she entered ECW and when she left WWF, it's not a pretty thing.

She certainly had a pretty typical "Diva" body in WWE so it's not a shock.

Yeah, the typical "Diva" body is impossible to attain and maintain year round on the road without artificial help unless you have awesome genetics.

I dont to turn this into a PWI thread but this quote is interesting from Sherer if true:

And to those who say that this is the best wrestling board you have ever seen, that has always been my goal. On one of my competitor's board, someone referred to me as a pedophile. When I told the owner about it and asked how he could let that happen when it reflected on him, he told me he doesn't care what the users write as long as they pay him. I have NEVER felt that way and would rather lose sub money, as I have with people like Big Danny and Ed Shireffs, than let them act like tools here.

Scherer complaining that someone called him a pedo? Of all the ironic, two faced and unintentionally funny things he's ever said, that one shoots to #1.

Whenever I start to wonder if it's time to put away thinking that Scherer is an evil, vile human being with a special place in hell reserved for him, something like this pops up to remind me that yes, he still is that scumbucket that I remember.

John

What did/does Scherer do that is so evil and vile?

This note is in the latest Figure Four Weekly. Is it true? Doesn't seem possible.

"One interesting thing to look at is that as much as people talk about the millions and millions of viewers who no longer watch wrestling, the reality is that the WWE audience, despite the ratings being in the low to mid-3s, isn't down significantly from the base audience during the boom period. The difference is that because more people have TVs and the audience for USA Network is so much bigger now than it was during the late ’90s/early ’00s, the ratings for the show would be down significantly even if all else remained equal. Ten years ago, on July 10, 2000, Raw did a 6.03 rating. You look at a 6.03 ten years ago and a 3.38 today and you think, wow, WWE is sinking fast. But in reality, that 6.03 is the percentage of people watching the show based on the number of homes that have the channel, the latter of which is much, much larger today. In terms of average number of actual viewers, the July 10, 2000 Raw did 5 million viewers and the July 19, 2010 Raw did 4.8 million viewers, statistically pretty much a dead heat."

A Neilsen point in July 2000 represented 1,008,000 households, so a 6.03 rating = 6,078,240 households.

A Neilsen point in July 2010 represents 1,149,000 households, so a 3.38 rating = 3,883,620 households.

That's about 63% of their 2000 audience.

Wait a minute.

The 7/20/2000 edition of WWE War Zone drew a 5.4 rating which equates to 5.48 million viewers.

The 7/19/2010 edition of WWE Raw Zone drew a 3.2 rating which equates to 5.16 million viewers.

I don't quite get how the cable Neilsens are measured, but Bryan is absolutely right.

Is that for Networks, or is it the same from Networks to USA/Spike in 2000? That seems to be Bryan's point.

Households = networks. There *are* household ratings released for cable shows but they're not used much as far as I know (except for comparison to network ratings). Coverage area ratings are what are always given for cable wrestling shows, which is why you sometimes hear about the WWF MTV specials getting ratings that dwarf any other wrestling shows ever shown on cable. If Bryan's numbers for USA's reach are correct, then he's absolutely right.

Regarding "Husky Harris", Rotundo's kid on NXT. There's something so fucking....gay, (in the annoying, non homosexual bashing way)about dudes going on about how "Husky Harris has that old school sleazy look, and I say run with that, girl!" "He's Bill Watts aproved..that's for sure...hmm, hmm." "I say "Team Husky, cause SCREW Vince McMahon", etc, etc..

He's play acting at being a fat old school guy who wears cowboy boots, and some of you fans are play acting at how "awesome" you think that is.

Sam Houston wore cowboy boots and we all HATED him, and he was AWESOME!

Harris is really not all that good, yet. Despite his heritage, girth, and boots.

Sorry, I'm in a bad mood and had to focus it on something stupid to let it out. So as not to snap at the roomies.

Well I don't know if Husky's play acting, he comes from a long line of old school fat guys who wore cowboy boots. His granddad and (eventually) both uncles were pretty good at that role, so I'm thinking he's just fulfilling his destiny.

I think where the love for him is coming from is that there has been a long standing belief that if an Adrian Adonis type athletic fat guy ever came around, he would never make it since WWE is all about bodies. Now there's an athletic fat guy who the company seems to be getting behind (even if it's because of family connections) so people are getting into it.

RE: Dawn recently admitting steroid use throughout her career; I noticed this in her 2006 Torch Talk:

Keller: [...] And the tradition is for there to be recreational with drugs whether it’s in a hotel or out and about. It is a business that does attract a greater variety of personalties that might be less conservative in lifestyle.

Dawn: [...] I’ve been in the business for 11 years and I can honest to God swear on my new son I never used the drugs. I’m not saying I didn’t go out and drink once in a while and have fun, but I never, ever made it a habit. And I never did drugs. And it was there.

I guess there's some wiggle room, because they seem to be talking about rec drugs (and WWE doesn't consider testosterone to be a drug at all), but still...
