Marty
Kurt Angle had 4 heart attacks this morning and he's right there, jumpin' around. Slight correction: They were simultaneous, like Homer Simpson's.
Guest The Unholy Dragon
I don't think it is mockery when you consider that a concussion is an inevitable result of a worked wrestling match. Obviously you can't eliminate concussions completely from wrestling, but there is no need to work a match so stiffly that suffering some sort of head trauma becomes very likely and there is definitely no need for wrestlers to work through serious head injuries like concussions. Okay, I should note that I just went through Dynamite Kid's book in the span of 48 hours or less. With that disclaimer, I have to say: Suck it the hell up. It's a rough business and people get hurt. If they don't get hurt at least somewhat, the fact is that they probably aren't doing their job right. It's a harsh point, but fairly true imo. I just wish I could be bothered to find Dynamite's actual quote about that, as I do recall him covering it at one point. Hurm. Things I post at 4am that do not reflect what I think when I wake up. I should just not do so. But I digress, my point was more geared towards the idea that high impact matches are the problem when the lower impact style of WWE still causes more major injuries. It's not so much the style (though there is a point where that becomes a greater factor) but the frequency that does it. Dynamite was wrestling every day at the same pace for months at a time. Indy wrestlers and Puro stars wrestle for a short period then take time off to recover. There is a difference there. But my comment was stupid, snarky, and altogether fairly retarded, and for that I apologize.
Bix
Since when do indy wrestlers take time to recover?
S.L.L.
Dynamite Kid telling wrestlers to "suck it up" really is the real life version of The Black Knight telling King Arthur that it was "just a flesh wound" when he cut his arms off. kjh
To add to Bix's point, most of the serious injuries suffered in WWE in recent years since they toned their style down have been muscle tears and knee problems, not the concussions and other serious head injuries I was speaking about, which seem to me to be much more prevalent currently outside of WWE whether it be in the indys, Mexico or Japan. The problem with head injuries like concussions is that if you suffer too many of them, then you will have permanent damage that you can never recover from. Guest *FH*
The assertion that WWE's low impact style causes injuries is batshit insane, and you yourself tried to mitigate that carzy statement one sentence later. The schedule is bad, but really, WWE's major injuries are caused by guys using artificial means to pack on more muscle than the human body can support, and then, on top of that, using those overmuscled bodies to perform athletic feats. Ever see how a gymnast is built? Think about the athletic feats gymnasts do. Now compare that to how a bodybuilder is built and what they do for a living (stand around and flex). Imagine a bodybuilder trying to do what a gymnast does. That's why WWE wrestlers get hurt.

sek69
Another idiot on Scott Keith's Blog complaining that Benoit has been deleted from the Old Nitros. Which is funny since they seem to be slowly working his name back in the shows. Holy shit, I just read that guy's post on Scooter's blog. He goes from this WWE 24/7 isn't available in my area, so I don't know, but someone's omitting Benoit's matches and I assume it's not Scott. More than likely it's Corporate America WWE. to this I think what I'm trying to say is that, WCW and I had a sadomasochistic relationship in the late 90's where I was the bitch that liked to be slapped around a lot. uh......WOW

My point was that the schedule was more of a concern than the style, though it was poorly phrased admittedly.
MikeCampbell
I seem to have been banned from the ROH Message Board, for insinuating that a broken down and past-his-prime Mitsuharu Misawa probably won't be able to put the best match that ROH has ever seen, and for guessing that he's probably coming more for the big payday (judging from ticket prices) rather than for any great love for ROH or the fans. I guess someone got pissed off.

What did you expect? The funny part (to me anyway) was that it wasn't even anything I started. Someone else started a thread about the ass-sucking wonder that was Misawa/Marufuji and wondering if that's the sort of performance they could expect out of Misawa, and it just sort of snowballed from there.
