KawadaSmile Posted November 8, 2021 Report Posted November 8, 2021 She was just the best. Hate not being able to use so many characters but anyway Quote
NintendoLogic Posted November 8, 2021 Report Posted November 8, 2021 Stop me if you've heard this one before... Quote
El-P Posted November 8, 2021 Report Posted November 8, 2021 They really missed they opportunity to call John Cena "John" back in the days. Would have been money. Quote
Robert S Posted November 8, 2021 Report Posted November 8, 2021 So Vince has begun watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer? How long until he realizes that Russo (or whoever) got the Angel gimmick on WWF TV 23 years ago? Quote
Rah Posted November 9, 2021 Report Posted November 9, 2021 Did they take that picture at the moment they informed him of the name change? Anyway, because it will be better than any of the weekly slog, here's that Walter/Cesaro match~ Quote
Tenese Sarwieh Posted November 9, 2021 Report Posted November 9, 2021 Watching this has me wondering when they're going to make cuts in NXT UK. Quote
sek69 Posted November 9, 2021 Report Posted November 9, 2021 NXT UK, unlike its US counterpart, actually achieved its goal (killing the budding UK indy scene before it could hit the next level of getting on TV) so Vince will probably keep it around. Quote
sek69 Posted November 9, 2021 Report Posted November 9, 2021 Also I see AJ is back after a two week non injury related absence. Gee I wonder what that possibly could have been? Quote
sek69 Posted November 9, 2021 Report Posted November 9, 2021 OK, done watching my football team narrowly avoiding shitting their pants on national TV, time to start Raw and the first thing I see is Seth coming out looking like he raided Becky's closet. WTF? Also they are so clearly telegraphing Owens turning heel (again), but making Big E look like a dick about it. Quote
sek69 Posted November 9, 2021 Report Posted November 9, 2021 Big E vs Chad Gable is this generation's Ric Flair vs Mike Jackson. World champ has a competitive match with the job guy who's a really awesome wrestler but has no chance of advancement because he's a small guy. Quote
sek69 Posted November 9, 2021 Report Posted November 9, 2021 Really wish WWE could think of a starting off point for a women's feud that isn't "they're all catty bitches who hate each other". It's like the one Russo archetype they just can't quit. Quote
sek69 Posted November 9, 2021 Report Posted November 9, 2021 Commercials on Raw seems to be a swing and a miss for the company trying to promote the new Kenneth Brannaugh movie. Quote

Anyway, because it will be better than any of the weekly slog, here's that Walter/Cesaro match~ WALTER looks like he's lost some weight. Getting into that main roster shape, it seems. Good that we are back to having those house show recordings, man. There are so many little gems that get lost due to lack of tape. I remember some years ago Goldust and Braun were having super fun matches, and you could sense Dustin was having a blast working with a bigger dude, since he was doing sommersaults and what not. Quote
sek69 Posted November 9, 2021 Report Posted November 9, 2021 I doubt we'll ever see WALTER on the main roster, he doesn't want to live in the US full time and only agreed to NXT UK because they backed the money truck up for him. The most he'll agree to is to come over for brief visits like he's been doing. Quote

sek69 Posted November 9, 2021 Report Posted November 9, 2021 Dave just mentioned it on WOR last night/this morning, basically said it comes down to it making financial sense. Like I said, if Vince backs the money truck up I'm sure he'll move here but in the Budget Cuts Era I don't see them offering the money it would take. (plus even if they did it would just move him up the list when it's time for cuts) Quote
Coffey Posted November 10, 2021 Report Posted November 10, 2021 WALTER should be a top guy somewhere. He's one of the best in the world right now. Occasionally get just a match on NXT seems insane to me. Quote
Al Posted November 10, 2021 Report Posted November 10, 2021 In an ideal world I think Walter would be the heel challenger for guys like Big E and Drew McIntyre. He would’ve been great in the territories as someone who could spend six months in a territory and move on the start murking guys somewhere else. Quote
sek69 Posted November 10, 2021 Report Posted November 10, 2021 He absolutely looks like he stepped out of the late 70s challenging Bruno at the Garden. I've seen people who have tried to capture that look before, and while I'm not even sure WALTER is consciously going for that vibe not, he's completely nailing it. He also was easily able to get a single chop over as a 100% believable MURDERDEATHKILL level finish in an era often mocked for too many flips, which is one of the most impressive accomplishments of the last decade. Quote
strobogo Posted November 10, 2021 Report Posted November 10, 2021 I don't think Walter works in the WWE TV system. His style and his match type is not something that can be done on TV every week and still feel like a big deal. Quote
sek69 Posted November 10, 2021 Report Posted November 10, 2021 Jacket Time is such a stupid gimmick it kind of went all the way to being awesome. Also Diamond Mine is my favorite stable in wrestling right now. I love how Malcom Bivens and Hachiman have a JC/Big Bubba vibe going. Quote
KawadaSmile Posted November 10, 2021 Author Report Posted November 10, 2021 Julius Creed has a sweet, sweeeeeet gutwrench powerbomb. Those two are GREAT in the ring, man. Actually, NXT was pretty damn good yesterday. Sure, there was nearly no Bron Breakker, but the six woman tag, Saree vs KLR and the main event were very damn good. Carmelo Hayes is so damn good already, and Trick is on his way to becoming one of the company's best promos. Looking forward to Tony vs Dexter next week. Quote
sek69 Posted November 10, 2021 Report Posted November 10, 2021 My only (minor) complaint is that Pete vs Melo was one of those typical WWE "two guys who shouldn't be losing put in a match together" deals . Plus they had the young up and coming guy with a belt do the job just to make sure the new fans they want to draw realize that titles don't mean shit around these parts. Quote
KawadaSmile Posted November 11, 2021 Author Report Posted November 11, 2021 I was thinking the same thing, to be honest. Give us a DQ finish, then. Dunne shouldn't lose and Carmelo even less so. Quote
KawadaSmile Posted November 11, 2021 Author Report Posted November 11, 2021 I live for the backstage drama Quote
