The matwork we got in Danielson vs Garcia was so fucking gritty, gimme more of that please. That final reversal of the dragon screw to kicking his head in was so damn unique too.

Revolution is gonna be a bloodbath with Punk/MJF, Mox/Dragon and it's a real possibility it happens in Jericho/Eddie and Page/Cole too

If I'm being honest the Kingston/Jericho segment probably was too long, but since like 3/4ths of it was Jericho getting dunked on like a scrub in the 90s NBA, I'll allow it.

Also the cherry on the top of the awesomeness sundae that was this show was finding out the upcoming Pittsburgh show is Battle of the Belts II

The Kings of the Black Throne is an awesome entrance. I like how Alex coming out with Penta looks like a Sorceror or Necromancer or something. I liked Jade better with the white hair. A lot of women wrestlers have different color hair,  but the white hair really made her stand out. I really want to see what happens with Punk and MJF now.

My only query with Revolution is about the main event. The AEW title match doesn't feel like a main event match up to me, to the point where I don't think it will close the show. Not the fault of Hangman, nor even Adam Cole, terrible as he is. It just doesn't feel like there's any danger of Cole winning the title, and the decision to have him lose to Orange Cassidy last month feels really odd, even with the cutesy "unsanctioned" fudging of his win record. MJF/Punk feels like the real main event here to me.

Agreed. I honestly don't see Adam Cole as a main eventer at all. He is a perfectly serviceable upper midcarder when he is not doing stupid comedy or ACTING faces, but as a world title challenger, he feels totally out of place. I wouldn't ve surprised if TK books Britt v. Rosa to go after Page v. Cole.

Hey guys I see Adam Cole has been getting tons of love in this thread! Awesome! Now picture him holding the main belt for over a year and you can imagine why NXT had to be rebooted.

Low blow, bubba. Don't wish this on us, it's not our fault Hunter didn't pull the trigger with Keith Lee sooner

I don't mind Page as a one-and-done challenger but my worry is that the match is going to see a ton of run-ins instead of Page just lariating his head off. Thought the matches on this show weren't great but man, were there some fucking great promos. This MJF wrinkle is interesting and I like the idea of MJF finally finding a way to get into Punk's head after he's tried so hard with everything else. Buddy Matthews is insanely jacked, he was never THAT huge in WWE, was he? Granted, I missed pretty much everything past his matches with Ali.

Isiah Cassidy getting a PPV spot after making Keith Lee look like a trillion dollars is cool. Poor Quen though

Buddy was YOLKED back in like 2019 when he had those great matches with Roman and Bryan, but somehow he managed to make himself bigger. Dude's tapping into that Younger Toguro power.

He was protected like crazy in WWE, man. Still can't believe he beat Bryan CLEAN and had a fuck finish against Rollins. Going to bat for dad bod Cole smh

I'm still blown away this morning by MJF's promo last night. Completely different from his usual working style as a formerly (not Jewish) bullied kid in high school, this hit so many chords with me. Either way they're going with this, it's fantastic; that true story adds a bit of sympathy to MJF and you understand his motivation better behind his vitriol towards CM Punk. On the other end, if he did fake that story, not only you hate him more but he's now inside Punk's head.

MJF's finest hour last night.

I actually think Page and Cole would be hurt if they main event the PPV. By that point of the night the crowd will be tired as fuck no matter who closes the show, there's just a ton of stuff that will give them big moments to pop for. So Hangman having a "cold" main event to close a big PPV would probably do more damage to him than being sooner on the show and getting a big reaction and probably a match that would be better received than if it's the last (even if it's worked the same).

I agree that Punk vs MFJ feels like the biggest match on the card, and they have the best chance of bringing the crowd back to life eventually with violence and storytelling.

edit: MJF's promo was outstanding. I completely took it as him doing mind games though, like Terry Funk used to do with the audience before turning on them

The title match isn't even the second hottest on the show. But it would be fine not to have it close given that there's a special grudge match involving the company's biggest star. The PPV I went to in Baltimore in 2019 had Omega-Mox on top over the Cody-Jericho title match, and it didn't feel awkward.

Someone dug up a Facebook post from when he left college that had the Punk-Bryan shaking hands pic, so at least that much was real.

MJF's promo was certainly an interesting direction to take that feud.

That chop/reverse rana spot was really fucking cool, although not something that would be ridiculous as a regular spot. Speaking of ridiculous, non-wellness policy Buddy.

That was the best segment Jericho has been involved in in ages, he also looks to be in the best shape he's been in since the end of his WWE run. Hopefully it improves his ring work or his match with Eddie is kept short and violent.

Matt Hardy's continued involvement on TV reminds me of what felt like the never ending, heatless, awful Col. Parker/Sherri angle on Nitro.

I would love to see Bianca vs Jade or maybe even better, as a tag team just doing insane power spots and rag dolling women.

Crowd was real weird, seemed to just die frequently during matches but were real hot for all the promos. Bryan was mean and fuck. Just an angry mean little man.
