  1. Pretty awesome upload today with Magnum TA & Mr. Wrestling II vs. Midnight Express from 2/24/84 Getting ready to watch the previously uploaded match from 1/27 and then the new one right behind it.
  2. As far as I know this is accurate as of the end of the Georgia/WWF draft. I'll be updating this again once all the ICW moves are made.
  3. I'm shipping Igor Volkoff off to Memphis. I picked him up to complete a deal with kevin if he acquired the ICW roster but then he didn't but I still don't need Igor Volkoff so I'm gonna send him where he's wanted.
  4. I'm not saying it has to be before you debut a guy, I've held off announcing trades for the same reason but I looked in your thread last night and saw Youngblood had been used the whole month already so then I gotta send a PM to ask the Florida writer what he got in return so I can update the rosters.
  5. I'm not talking about some dates here and there or temporary deals. I'm talking about not announcing when you do a full time trade. Like trading Sweet Daddy Siki from Mid-South to Florida for Mark Youngblood.
  6. That wasn't directed at you, but I didn't want to call anyone out by name and start another round of complaining.
  7. As an aside, it's really hard for me to keep the roster page up to date when people don't ever announce their trades in here. I'm seeing guys pop up in places I have no idea how they got to because nothing was ever announced so I don't know how accurate that page is now.
  8. The Flame was quite good at throwing those fireballs. Probably the best I've seen at that particular wrestling skill set

    This Week In AWA

Pretty cool clip show here. I could imagine this being a fun watch for someone who hadn't been able to see all of this stuff of their local TV. I like seeing my top feud get some national TV time along with the Dutch/Bullet feud and the AWA World Champ also getting some shine.
  10. I will admit there is a lot of scrubbish on my roster but Apollo actually doesn't fit the category despite probably only Boricua and I being aware of his existence before this project. He was brought along slowly in Florida for pretty much all of 1981 having fairly competitive matches with guys above him on the pecking order. Then he had a short TV Title run and feuded with Don Muraco that I think led to a hair match or at least Don Muraco cutting some of Apollo's hair. Then before leaving he got up to semi-main or 3rd from the top in his biggest feud in Florida with Cyclon Negro where the established star Negro turned on him in a tag match on TV (which I've posted at least twice somewhere around the board, I really dug that angle) Then he went back to Puerto Rico and seemingly was a pretty big deal there as Boricua just recently posted these in the Puerto Rico mega thread that show him working semi-main under Carlos Colon and seems like he also worked some main events on non-Carlos shows. Then he just kind of quit wrestling and disappeared for reasons no one seems to really know. This end's today's pointless El Gran Apollo history lesson This is not a denial of the fact there are many scrubs on my roster, Bruiser Costa, Terry Adonis, Tiny Anderson, Tony Torres, and a few others probably fit that bill nicely and are being used above the level of total jobber here. But that was fairly true to life for how the lower tier promotions like Southwest, Portland and Vancouver had to operate and I've been trying to emulate real life Southwest in operation if not so much in style of booking. *This is not an angry response to the word scrubs, more of a chance to lay out the reasons why El Gran Apollo has been getting a big push and to explain more of the philosophy behind why guys who would most likely be jobbers on any other roster get pushed above that level here.
  11. I nominate jdw because listening to you argue with each other would be an immediate download for me.
  12. I love Wrestling II so I enjoyed this. I wouldn't say the crowd was dead, they reacted pretty well to II's act and his goofy mannerisms. Wasn't all that engaging of a match but any chance I get to see Wrestling II in a match I haven't seen, I'm gonna take it.
  13. Well I'm just one dude but they won't be getting this one dude's money until they start putting up some of their territory footage. What is the point of spending the money to buy the libraries just to sit on them?
  14. You'll probably get more eyes on that if you post it here: http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/31215-trade-deals/
  15. I'm not sure if we ever decided how retirements were going to be handled. I know there were some guys on the WWF roster who were pretty much already retired (Johnny Powers) or very close to it (Dean Ho's last matches were 12/83, Scicluna's last match outside of a Legend's Battle Royal was on 2/84)
  16. Watching that interview I felt like Muraco & Kal were about two seconds away from this:
  17. Well Mid-South never dropped out so I expect he'll probably just scoop them all up.
  18. From what I can tell that leaves these guys still undrafted: Steve King Jack Carson Chief Thundercloud Fred Curry
  19. Running in a baseball/football stadium always leaves the impression that the crowd is smaller than it really is. Even on the big WCCW cards at the Cotton Bowl you would see a ton of empty seats which would make the crowd look smaller than the 12,000 it was in 84 and the 26,000 they had in 1985.
  20. With The Grapper #1/Tiger Conway, Grapper #2 vs. Wrestling II and the Bobby Jaggers/Chavo matches all coming from 11/19/82 it looks like we could have some big matches on the way if the whole card gets uploaded. Boesch @ Houston, TX - Sam Houston Coliseum - November 19, 1982 Mr. Wrestling II vs Grappler #2 Tiger Conway Jr. vs The Grappler Ernie Ladd vs Mike Bowyer Chavo Guerrero vs Bobby Jaggers Mil Mascaras vs Tully Blanchard Ted DiBiase vs Dick Slater Chavo Guerrero vs Gino Hernandez AWA World Heavyweight Title: Tony Atlas vsNick Bockwinkel © Chavo vs. Gino especially sounds like it would be really good.
  21. I don't find that idea out of the realm of possibility. I've seen a few pretty bad ballots including a professional writer voting for a team that isn't even eligible.

    ICW

There is no one else who wanted to start writing ICW, kevin was talking about merging his promotion with ICW because we didn't think there were going to be any new writers. So yes it looks like you're officially taking over ICW then.

    ICW

For the sake of clarity, Super Stan this is the part where you say Yes I want to take over ICW or No I don't want to take over ICW
