I was at the Raw the night before. Santo and Casas worked Taka and Aguila. I still think it’s crazy that I saw Santo and Casas live.
  3. Gotch/Goulet vs the Rugged Russians. Gotch is cheered as he's announced from Germany. That feels like a historic achievement in itself. It's amusing to see Gotch work a western style.
  4. I enjoyed the Hodge match. Hodge actually sold well. Jos Leduc was more agile than I expected. Pak Song didn't look much bigger than the other three, though maybe it was just the image quality and camera angle distorting the view. Hodge today would obviously be a heavyweight. But even by 1970s standards he's not a tremendously small man. It's strange that he's the epitome of a junior heavyweight when he was bigger than Londos and probably comparable to Verne Gagne.
  5. Oddly I got tired of the multiple "last year I was just happy to be here..." promos.
  6. There's so many that it's difficult for voters to focus on one candidate.
  7. The entire ringside area is Saudi royalty and the real fans are at least 100 feet away. This is an environment where you just about need to ham it up to get a reaction. It’s Michaels’ best setting.
  8. I had my eye on the Hornbaker book, will almost certainly order that one.
  9. Not like they showed signs of life the previous 10 minutes either but sure.
  10. If some Indy promotion doesn’t roll out a teal cage they’re missing a huge opportunity.
  11. An ironman match that ends at the 40-45 minute mark with a wrestler gassed and completely unable to continue.
  12. Oddly Hussein had a run in WWWF in 1967 as a babyface.
  13. There’s a similar story about Paul Boesch, which I always found odd. If Boesch really take try to take the title I would suspect some sort of repercussion beyond the ring.
  14. It is, it has a full section I believe.
  15. Michaels is justified to take whatever money offer he wants, and I don't think this is beyond the pale. The interesting aspect to me is that Michaels is probably the most visibly pro-Christianity figure within WWE.

So I guess my suggestion of adding a mens tuxedo match is out of line?
  17. The problem with the Izzy bump is that you shouldn’t try to take that bump unless you’re trained. And eleven is too young to train for that. I just started my daughter in youth soccer. They don’t even allow heading until they reach 10-12 years of age. (Another comment that doesn’t warrant a thread: to become assistant coach I had to watch Heads Up training narrated by Chris Nowinski.) Honestly, if you’re that young and want to become a professional wrestler, learn the amateur sport. You’ll learn conditioning and basic drills that will help later.
  18. That's the one. Couldn't remember if it was on the dvd set for certain.

    All In

I don't plan on watching the full show but my cable subscription carries WGN, so I'll check out the first hour.
  20. WWE has shown Ricki Starr vs Duke Keomuka from 1957 in the past. That was from "Texas Wrestling" and it took place in the Sportatorium. I don't know how far back they would have full weekly shows, but that tells me there could be a ton of footage they're sitting on.
  21. He’s up there. Jushin Liger probably gets my vote.
  22. On one of the older services they had a Race vs Klondike Bill match from Stampede in ‘73.
  23. They’re working with Barstool? Ugh.

A Brock Lesnar title defense? That is a rare gem!
  25. The entire industry piling up on Meltzer will get tiresome. Peyton herself had every right to speak up though, and was right to do so.
