  1. So apparently WWE is going to put out a Mid-South DVD set in September, best of War Games in June, and Best of MSG in August.
  2. I grew up in Morgantown, West Virginia. We had TONS of wrestling on tv. Everyday at 4 on ESPN was either AWA or World Class, and then later Global NWA was on Saturday morning at 9:05, Saturday night at 6:05, Sunday Morning at 10:05, and Sunday night (It was sometime between 5:05 and 7:05, I can't remember) WWF was on Monday nights at 9, Saturday Morning at 11:00, Saturday afternoon at varying times, and Sunday at Noon I think GLOW came on late Saturday nights, but I was never allowed to stay up that late!
  3. Didn't the Ronnie Garvin title win in the cage taking up the whole hour of the Saturday morning show?
  4. I think Dynomite and Freight Train are part of that five dollar wrestling deal where they book the shittiest of workers in order to make fun of them.
  5. This may be my new favorite quote of all time.
  6. I have heard the same thing about Butch Reed, and need to look for footage of them both. I would also like to add a few more names to my list, although once again I am not sure if other people actually like them.... Konnan: Granted I haven't seen much of his AAA work, but his shitty matches, incessant rambling, and goofy grabbing his crotch dance made me change the channel on WCW almost weekly. Road Dogg: If ever a bit of charisma carried a guy farther than he ever deserved to go, this is your prime example. I would rather watch a best of Scott Armstrong comp than a match of Jesse. Jeff Jarrett: I've seen some Memphis which was passable, but pretty much everything he ever did in WWF, WCW, or TNA was mind fuckingly excruciating to watch. Especially after becoming The Chosen One and being champion twenty times or whatever it was. I think it was Mike Graham (another case for this thread, but..) who said "Jeff Jarrett broke ten thousand guitars and never drew a dime."
  7. Randy Orton I think the consensus with this one is the same for most people on this particular board. However, people on other boards I frequent love him, and the part that baffles me the most is that in shoot interviews guys always put him over as this phenomenal talent. I have tried to watch his matches from every point of view I can imagine, but I find him boring, uncharismatic, and his timing seems constantly off to me. Also I don't know that anyone likes him, but Dino Bravo may be the single most boring wrestler to ever step between the ropes. and Rick Martel has never done a thing for me.
  8. Watching Terry and Dory vs Steamboat and Youngblood from All Japan '82, and I have a question. Why is Lou Thesz referee'ing and what the fuck is up with that horrible shirt!
  9. So apparently Punk had emergency knee surgery today. The booking scramble should be something to behold.
  10. Sitting watching the Horseman comp and I can't help but wonder how different the wrestling business could be had Magnum TA not gotten injured. So I wanted to hear what you guys think. What if Magnum TA didn't get injured? (Does Crockett still sell to Turner? Does Hogan still end up in WCW? Is WCW still alive?) Where do you see the career of Magnum and the other major players going if TA is still around?
  11. Daniel Bryan versus Tyson Kidd on Saturday Morning Slam today. Not only does Bryan break out the 50+ revolution Airplane Spin, he wins the match with the Johnny Saint Special! Two things I never thought I would see on WWE television in 2012.
  12. He apparently collapsed right around 10 PM Eastern Time
  13. This is just eerie. The crowd hardly cares. The silence is chilling.
  14. Cole is leaving the booth. No commentary for the rest of the show.
  15. and now not even Michael Cole is on commentary. Scary
  16. Judging by tweets from someone in attendance, the collapse apparently happened right about 10 PM.
  17. I remember hearing about Royal Rumble's that took place on house shows with guys like Rick Rude picking up the win. Have any of these ever shown up anywhere?
  18. Damn I hope it's the Ghost of Katie Vick terrorizing Wrestlemania.
  19. Does anyone else think Hugh Jackman looks frighteningly like Bruiser Brody in this picture?
  20. I can't say I am surprised. From some of the indy guys I've chatted with, apparently the clowns pay VERY well and are quite respectful and appreciative of the workers.
  21. Is it wrong, that with everything that went down, the main thing I got from this as a reason to hate these guys, is that they call themselves "Team Ambition." Someone really needs to sit these guys down and explain to them that they are in professional wrestling, and not mixed martial arts. They don't need team names, or fucking mouth pieces.
  22. Masters of the Power Bomb reunite to toss Heath Slater into the ring!!!!
  23. I can vouch that Chance Prophet does his. I've also seen a photo of either Hawk or Animal doing their own.
  24. I always thought that the 2001 Rumble was Kane's greatest performance.
