  1. How many of these were published?
  2. I'd be more impressed if she hired the lawyer who represented Phil Collins' last wife.
  3. I'm sure there will be plenty of hush-hush money spent, if that's the case. It could just be the time spent away was crippling their marriage, and nothing else.
  4. It makes me wonder what would have happened if Vince held onto the older guys, and let Bret and Shawn slip through his fingers and went to WCW in '92 or '93. Would Bischoff have recognized their talent enough for WCW to go in the opposite direction? I'm guessing not, because I don't think that was ever his strong suit. He had guys like Rhodes and Sullivan that recognized the skills better, and had a pretty established track record as far as that. I'm guessing that must have been part of the reason why Vince shifted the focus to the younger talent, because that unrest Bret and Shawn talked about on their DVD of having to play 2nd banana to the bigger talent must have been quite palpable to.
  5. That's a no-brainer. And it was obviously a goof on Sting, but they had done up-in-the-air stunts before. Other than Shawn coming down the zipline at WM 12, there's the end of the Undertaker/Bossman match from 15 where not only was BBM "hung" from the cage, but Edge/Christian/Gangrel flying around like someone in a grade school production of "Peter Pan".
  6. To get back on track here, I watched a video from Piper's RF interview where he talked about appearing on TNA and antagonizing Russo about "killing his cousin Owen". Looking back, Roddy had the best intentions to humiliate him but maybe going that far was a bit too much. Vince later said he was upset by it because Piper wasn't there and that he was good friends with Owen. Looking back at it, pre-accident it seemed like WWE had a hard-on for competing with what Sting was doing in WCW as far as doing crazy stuff from the ceiling. It wouldn't surprise me at all if that came from the other Vince.
  7. For some reason I always remembered during the build-up to Piper-Hogan, that it was a non-title match, just a one-time deal to "settle the score".
  8. I saw a funny clip from a shoot he did yesterday. He told someone he was a pro wrestler but was tight-lipped when the person asked him his name. When he finally told him, Bob said the guy laughed like the interviewer did when he said "Sparky Plugg".
  9. That chop he did from the middle of the top rope was pretty sweet. And quite the feat if you consider he was already in the neighborhood of 40. A sad milestone though, because it was the last episode of Saturday Night before that ghastly set they used started. I preferred the old set, even then.
  10. I had this funny image in my head of Punk 30 years from now being the liberal equivalent of a Ted Nugent.
  11. Well yeah. I meant damaging as in, slap-to-the-wrist kind of stuff. I like that Punk is pretty unhinged in his views, and doesn't seem fazed into taking the easy route with Twitter like some do.
  12. The thing about Twitter stuff I've noticed is, is that it usually blows over, and doesn't hang over people in the long run. It's a tiny ugly blurb, not a long, winding and vulgar Mel Gibson-esque tape leaked to the public. The only exception to that would be is Gilbert Gottfried's jokes about Japan that got him fired from voicing a duck. Sandbagging A-Train and putting that picture of Heyman on before his segment will probably be more damaging.
  13. Not for nothing, but JBL doing the goosestep in Germany was far worse. At least Punk apologized.
  14. We should have listened.
  15. Is he gone from TNA or not?
  16. I felt that way for awhile, but I'm used to it now to the point where I barely refer to stuff before 2002 as WWF.
  17. Roddy Piper has been talking about starting up a podcast on Twitter. Whether it's genius or a car wreck, it'll be interesting to listen to.
  18. That whole thing makes me wonder about Bret's position in the company if/once they all get their pink (possibly written in black ink) slips. A small, very cynical part of me is thinking all the forgiving he's done has been a work to get them in good graces with Vince.
  19. All due respect, seeing Flair in ECW would have been like listening to Dark Side Of The Moon on a gramophone.
  20. To counterpoint this, I always thought it was a bit funny that WWE split The Rockers up right as grunge was exploding. I don't think one thing had to do with another, but the irony of it never was lost on me.
  21. Makes sense. I don't remember watching a lot of Superstars or Challenge in '94 since USA had two other shows on the weekend (and in my particular case, on more reasonable hours).
  22. I thought they got rid of this segment after Jake locked the coffin on Taker's hand for some reason.
  23. Apologies if this has been covered, but has he ever worked heel?
  24. Her voice can be heard 6:08 in.
  25. Cornette really knew how to push his audience's buttons. An Atheist manager, a black "gangsta" tag team, and a smart-mouthed blonde who idolized Hillary Clinton (no doubt if done today, it would be Michelle Obama).
