It helps when the source for the quote is anonymous former creative team member. Who most likely does not exist. It reminds me of someone on a forum saying "Just because HHH was nice to you at at airport doesn't mean he is a good guy." Because obviously second hand accounts of him burying guys makes him a monster.
-
You've heard him bury guys in real life on what? Media appearances? Of course he's going to talk differently in a media appearance and a creative meeting. Whether that's a DIRECT quote or not, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility he would have said that around the time he, Foley and Funaki were all on Smackdown. He would not pf phrased it like that. Especially since it sounds liker a blind item at a third rate newz site.
-
I've heard him bury guys in real life and he keeps this veneer of politeness about him. Also "asses in seats" sounds like something a fan would have HHH say, than something he would actually say. I don't doubt he would bury Foley, but I don't think he would do it like that.
-
I don't believe he said that for a second. The phrasing is all wrong.

Another dynamite radio appearance from me.

Also the nWo reunion was a perfectly solid idea. They had a pretty good long term plan, before the scrapped it to make Hogan a face and Flair a heel.

What young guys were left to push? He put the belt on Benoit before him and the other three took off. Rey was injured and Russo ran off most of the luchadores. He did a lot to push Vampiro and the Wall up the card, he repackaged Silver King and El Dandy. He did what he could with what was left. I don't think anyone could of done anything with WCW in that state.
-
WCW was more than salvageable before Russo got there. I was enjoying during that period in August/September 99. I thought the booking was pretty solid and everyone was in a good place. A not terrible booker could of saved WCW. He was also booking during 96 and 97.
-
Why is Kevin Sullivan a bad booker? Also Nash was booking when WCW did Spring Stampede 99.
-
Watch a 2000 Nitro and a 190 Saturday Night and get back to me. Russo was one small person (and overrated at that) in the WWF's success in 98 Ran a unsuccessful promotion for a year. Russo took a salvageable WCW and killed it. You're shitting me.

Would wrestling benefit from one World Champion?

I think WWE would benefit greatly from unifying the World belts. They do not have the roster to support it anymore. -
Lanny Poffo - greatest ever camp/effeminate heel?
Victator replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in The Microscope
Lanny was so good at the gimmick he was able to troll other wrestlers with it. Nobody else can pull that off. -

More or less. -
Lanny Poffo - greatest ever camp/effeminate heel?

Poffo had stalling down to an art form. I mean that as a compliment, I love quality stalling. I can't believe WCW did not use Poffo even as enhancement talent. I think he would of been an asset to the undercard. -

The only people ever hear refer to belts as "props" are Vince Russo or his disciples. That mentality has lead to nothing good. -

It depends on how they ask. If it is a polite request like "Hey if you could send a buck or two my way, it would be a big help." I would not mind helping out. But if its a demand, then fuck em, because eventually another nerd will do it. -

Exactly that is all I ever hope for. That I do someone a solid by posting an old match, I find something I want. Its a pretty sweet set up for everybody, except the few who thinks it should be just a little sweeter for them. That is a head scratcher. -

No, not unless he plans on cutting the rightful owners in on a piece of the the sells. He shouldn't and isn't. He is selling copies of the DVD. He is being given the same consideration, he gave the wrestling promotion. I couldn't care less if that dude decides to stop uploading obscure puro DVDs because I have never and will never download them. However, if someone was uploading some awesome shit that I want to see and don't have, like some old territory stuff that's hard to come by, I would easily throw a buck or two their way to keep having access to it that I otherwise would not have. It's all about accessibility and whether the person you are paying is the only person you're going to be able to get the footage from.(Or at least get the footage from without paying a lot more than you want to spend, especially when we're talking about having to import obscure japanese indy DVDs) If he doesn't do it, some other nerd will. What does he want, a fucking trophy? I am grateful to guys that upload old stuff, but that is about it. I'm not going to kiss their ass or blow them. I say this as someone who uploads more than my fair share and that includes ripping DVDs not many had access to. But I am not expecting a parade because of it. I do it because I want to share stuff I enjoy. If I wanted to pay money for it, I would hunt down the person who owns it. -

ITS PRO WRESTLING, it is its own thing. It has existed for a 100 years as PRO WRESTLING. -

Why do you watch something you have such blatant contempt for? -

There used to be tons of fat guys who were taken seriously. Yokozuna, Earthquake, Typhoon, One Man Gang (pre-Akeem), Bam Bam Bigelow, Adrion Adonis (even despite the gay gimmick), so forth and so on. As Vince got older, he got more and more obsessed with the idea that practically everyone on the roster had to have a perfect body except for his comedy acts. The "Vince loves certain guys/creations" discussion is a great topic. but the question raised above lends us to another topic: who was the last "fat" guy taken seriously in WWE? From a pure sporting perspective, one could argue Brodus Clay, due to him being undefeated and beating the hell out of people. However, he clearly isn't being positioned as a title contender at the moment. He definitely is getting over as both a comedic dancer and an asskicker though, so I'm excited to see where he is a year from now. The most recent that immediately comes to mind is Umaga. He wasn't so much as fat as just a really big dude who wasn't stacked with the typical WWE muscles. Umaga's big push was over 5 years ago. Anyone in the last 5 years? Big Daddy V was treated as a monster and only lost cleanly to Taker and Kane. Punk beating him by count out was treated as a big upset.

You know as a kid I thought it was obvious Flair and Perfect were lying to fuck with Macho Man and Warrior. So I was happy that neither man sold out.

You might care to elaborate on that since you're probably the only guy here who is real into the F4W board. Some guy is selling bootleg Puro and gets pissed when people upload it for free. People call him out on it and he gets bitchy. Alan defends the guy and people get pissed at that. Thread is closed. At least that's what I got out of it? That is hilarious. Well more mildly irritating and makes me grateful I no longer need to interact with people like that to enjoy wrestling. -

Glad to see Kane prove me right. He has stepped it up the last few weeks, the Punk match on Smackdown and tonight were both really good. This Bryan program is the best feud Punk has had in forever.
