  1. The problem with WM V was Savage and Hogan had perfected a match formula. But with Elisabeth in a neutral corner they had to start from scratch and WM V was their first match since the turn. Savage and Hogan had more than a few great matches in 85/86. But I'm not a fan of the WM V match. I think Bossman/Hogan was a great series of matches. They clicked so perfectly almost immediately.
  2. Before 91 Hogan is better, but after that I'll take Cena. Thinking about it I think they line up perfectly strength vs strength. I think Cena has done way more with a lot less. He has nowhere near the supporting cast that Hulk did in his prime. He has been booked terribly and gets little protection. Which might sound silly, but I can't imagine Bruno, Austin or Hogan tolerating the crap Cena does. Every time I think Hulk has burned out every ounce of what made him great, he pulls out something like the Sting match last year. Where for a few moments, he seems like the guy I worshiped as a kid. I see them as equal, but not better.
  3. Warrior in 88/89 had this great savage charisma. But it seemed like the more he improved, the more charisma he lost. Kinda like seeing Sting's promos, he had this great manic energy which made him an entertaining promo then they taught him the "right" way and he lost it. As far as promos went. I see the Warrior gimmick as Conan the Barbarian on LSD.
  4. No you miss the point. You commented on something not knowing the context. So no its not a stupid statement. Yes it is, because after you pointed to me the fact that the fat punch is actually Big Show's signature finisher, I admited not realizing it and re-phrased my opinion from the point of view of a very casual viewer, which was that it didn't look very good anyway, signature spot or not. Really, Cena had no damage done to him at all during the match, and the fat punch was enough to kill him so John Laurinaitis could get the pin, when 15 minutes of Brock killing Cena was not enough to knock him out for the count. So signature spot or not, it just didn't work for me. No its not. You are also the only person who has ever said the punch does not look good. The punch has never failed to knock someone out. Everyone from Undertaker to Hall of Pain era Mark Henry have been knocked out by it instantly.

  6. So stupid statement = knowing what you are talking about?
  7. Then you should hold back on commenting.
  8. Um that has been Show's finisher since 2008. He beat the Undertaker with that punch.
  9. Powers were faces til November. The Fuji turn was so strange, since it looked like he was turning face. Watching 88 NWA, I did not realize Warlord did not wear facepaint til the WWF.
  10. The first Demolition/Powers Of Pain match is good. Demos were working heel and POP were faces.
  11. I think its great that the one time TNA was innocent is when they really got shit on.
  12. Buddy liked the drugs and was hence unreliable.
  13. I like four way matches if their is a good feud behind them. This was an X Division title match.
  14. Jericho needed to turn face two years ago. His heel schtick is beyond stale and I rather Orton win the title. He could feud with Del Rio and Bryan, while doing great work.
  15. The FBI is one of the best groups ever if only for consistency. Every single version was good up to the WWE (Guido, Palumbo and Stambolli).
  16. You know people get the idea of fictional realities and context with men flying and shooting lasers out of their eyes.* But somehow with pro wrestling, the idea of a fictional context flies over their heads. A lot of the time it seems like people who do it for a living don't get it. I watch a movie and I don't question why actor A is acting like it is real. I understand he is pretending. Now the usual answer to this is "Well that's different. Pro wrestling is trying to trick people into thinking its real." I find that asinine, but why would expect a conman to expose himself mid con. I could not get past the first paragraph of that article. *I love super heroes. So it is by no means a dig.
  17. Never really thought of the Nest/Flock as a true group. It was always Raven, a general (Saturn/Kanyon) and a bunch of cannon fodder.
  18. I agree completely. The Jersey Triad was underrated. DDP and Bam Bam even had a cool tag finisher, The Greetings Piledriver/Diamond Cutter combo.
  19. Yup, Eadie was much older then all of them but Darsow was actually younger then Hawk. The point is in perception. Compared to the LOD, Demolition looked fat. For a 13 year old wrestling fan, I think they would take LOD over Demolition every time. Except for the three years they were the top tag team in the world and by a pretty wide margin. But oh wait, the Road Warriors are here. LOL at fat.
  20. Yeah because there were not other roided guys in the WWF during the time Demolition was there. Demolition was the third biggest act in the WWF from the time they turned face to the point they lost the WWF Tag belts to the Hart Foundation. Though lol at "fat".
  21. I fully believe they turned Demolition heel to protect the Road Warriors. To keep the fans from having a real choice.
  22. He should have said it was completely fake and they are privileged to have a UFC champion in thieir presence.
  23. So basically Vince Russo bullshit that makes no sense in a fictional context.
  24. The fictional wrestling show that hammers you over the head that they're not actually a wrestling company but a multimedia conglomerate? Brock's a fighter, the other guys are entertainers. It's not difficult. How are they "entertaining"? What is their fictional show about? Especially after HHH put over that they themselves are fighting and that Cena kicked Brock's ass. It was a shitty promo and a guy like Heyman should know better.
  25. I want to know what the fuck it means in the context of the fictional WWE wrestling show.
