I'm thinking that might just be a quirk in how he talks, because after 20+ years he still thows to commercial like "next on MONDAY *dramatic pause* NIGHTRAW!" I wonder sometimes if non fans who come upon the show hear that and think it's called WWE Nightraw. Cole has a going to commercial voice. Why would you telegraph a commercial break.

Watched Giant Baba vs Gorilla Monsoon and Baba vs Destroyer. Young Baba looked like Obama to me. Baba and Destroyer had a crazy finish for its era. Baba actually hit a monkey flip that looked like a Proto Frankensteiner.

Don't really see anything wrong with what he said there. Him beating Bret for the title is news to me.

It seems obvious the pimping stuff was bullshit. But Moolah was a piece of shit as a promoter and made Nick Gulas look like Paul Boesch. Which really should not be glossed over. In my book I went with the idea if you are at the arena, you are being filmed. There was a study that said if people are being filmed, they will eventually start ignoring cameras. The really awkward thing was early on when the announcers would discuss stuff backstage and the wrestlers acted like nobody saw it.

Seeing Flair with chewing tobacco seemed so wrong. It seems as wrong for Kurt's character.

Its pretty much set up that way. The going off on straw man with no follow ups is the most common presentation style there is. Even Meltzer does it on Twitter cherry picking tweets to reply to. I think only Cornette is willing to go deep into the weeds. Which is probably because he keeps records and has a great memory. I wish more people were like that. But we have an echo chamber culture.

I've never bought into that particular report. Would being a Trump supporter really make him unpopular in the WWE locker room? I get the impression that WWE is very Republican-heavy, and not just from the usual suspects. Kane voted for Trump and is running as a Republican, Lashley has expressed support for Trump publicly, etc. Then you have the clip of AJ Styles and Kurt Angle laughing like wild hyenas, probably with chaw in their mouths, after Kid Rock mentioned kicking Democrats' asses at the HOF or whatever gibberish he spouted off. Not to mention, Linda McMahon works for Trump. Have you noticed WWE has not mentioned the President of the United States in their Hall Of Fame? Or in the Lashley bio, made no mention of him. My guess is that Cass can't keep his politics in his pants and that would rub people the wrong way in general. Its been my experience that the Trump voters I know do not really like him. But do to our broken political system, felt pressured to vote Republican.

Not only that but (based on the small sample size of what I saw this year during RumbleMania) it feels like most of them are reading off of the same script, and that the script was written by someone who has never ever 1) been in a fight - or been in a tense situation, or stood up for themselves... I mean, the truth is, it's likely much of the 2018 WWE roster, especially the people under thirty has never been in a 'real' fight outside of an MMA gym. America is a far less violent place than it's been in decades. Bullying is done via social media shaming and the such, not beating up somebody at their locker or whatever. I say all of this seeing it largely as a good thing, even if it means we have less people to cut promos based on their bar fights. But ultimately not true. We watch the news. I don't even get cyber bullying people you see in real life. I would have kicked the shit(or tried) out of a kid who did that to me if I saw them at school. Does this violate some code I'm too old for. "No Horatio, we only bully on the internet."

Do WWE need Enzo and Cass? They have guys bigger than Cass, better workers and more over. Enzo being hired in the first place is baffling.

Some of its terrible booking. Some of it is nobody knows how to cut heel promos anymore. I personally blame suit era Jericho for ruining an entire generation.

I don't hate heels winning clean depending on the heel. Brock, Braun, Joe and to a degree Rollins, AJ and Nak. But Miz and Alexa should never win cleanly.

I think you can look at it like this. Who has come out of a feud with Alexa better off than before? I think she is a Hunter project because her feuds seem a lot like Hunter's biggest run in 02/05. Its not her fault the Nia matches were bad. Nia is really bad, but Alexa is not good enough to go that long in a match without someone leading her. I think that is why they did not do the feud the first time. Her promos are scripted similar to Miz, where she gets to say things to bury the face and the face is not allowed to retaliate. Both also win way too many matches cleanly. I don't know who has the mentality heels should win matches cleanly. But its one of the worst things WWE does. Heels like Miz and Alexa should not be winning matches cleanly. Alexa having a knock out punch feels like Alexa fan fiction.

Change five to eighteen and you are on to something.

I don't think she is a particularly good promo. Or noticeably better than the other women. I think Mickie is way better on the mic without doing the same promo every week.

It's been my running theory that she gets booked the way she does because someone in creative wants to have sex with her. It's the only thing that makes any sense to me as they just continually sacrifice better talent at her feet. Bayley, Sasha, Becky and Nia have all taken serious hits because of programs with her. I try not to think like that if I can help it. I do think she is a Hunter or Vince project. More likely Hunter, because Vince can't keep his projects over.

If she were better in the ring it would not be that noticeable. She also has the issue of injuring multiple people. If the Rock was not her cousin, I can't imagine she would have ever been hired in the first place.

Struggling to beat someone she outweighs by a hundred pounds and is a foot taller did not help. On promos she comes across as condescending. She got hit with the old "Nia Jax loves to have fun" trope. She comes across as a heavier far less talented version of Bayley. If the Rousey title change happens, I am going to think the whole Alexa feud was to protect her from a high profile loss to Ronda.

Well we know that with Roman it is killing everything. Other guys can at least fall back on being good in the ring. The only person I would say is worse than Nia in the company is Cass.
