  1. Nia Jax is really bad in the ring and I don't care for her personality. Every aspect of her seems phony. I never know what they want want her to be. She is a monster heel who up til recently always lost the big one. She is not like other girls but she tries her best to look like everyone else. Her theme music is most confusing. Can you imagine Braun coming out to that? It feels like it is unacceptable for a woman to be a monster now and if it was Nia is too vain to do it.
  2. If you go back twelve years the roster looked way better than now. But the thing is they all looked too similar. Especially the women, who all fit the taste of Johnny Ace and Vince. Or in OVW guys would have unique looks. They get called up and any personality they developed was squashed.
  3. And I understand fully judging on a look as far as booking them. I think Alexa Bliss has been booked badly for over two years. I think she should be a weaselly heel who gets by on guile and cheating. I don't think she should be winning by knock out or working even with Nia Jax for ten minutes. Also I was not passing judgment on anyone else. Their are ladies I think are very pretty. Heck there are dudes I find handsome on a platonic level. It could be I'm more prudish and have a mentality to keep stuff like that private. But that is my hang up.
  4. I would like to hear about the declining years of Memphis. From the merger with WCCW to when he decided to sell his portion to Lawler. I don't think that area has been explored much. If you ever feel comfortable with him. Ask about Gary Hart, if you can be discreet doing it.
  5. If this was more scalpers buying than fans this could look really bad as a visual if the scalpers can't unload them.
  6. Russo is definitely not working a gimmick. He is an idiot. How we view people is interesting. I think we will think of a talented person as being attractive because we admire them so much. We might think of someone not very good as either being less attractive or only gets by on their looks. Some of you guys know me in real life. I am a giant fat man and I definitely hate myself. I was bullied as a kid and abused and I blamed everything on my appearance. That if I were a more conventionally attractive person life would be better. Pro wrestling was my escape from this world. Even then the guys who I could credibly see myself being were the monsters. There was no way in hell I could ever be Hulk Hogan or Sting or Steamboat. Even if I loved them. I could never be Ric Flair or Randy Savage even if I admired their talent. But I could be One Man Gang or King Kong Bundy or Bossman if I persevered. I actually learned later my story was not too different than Gang's I am still a huge guy as an adult but I ended up losing a lot of weight. Girls would find me attractive but to my horror, I still hated me. The ugliness was more within. I told this terrible story to show we are all different in how we view the world and what is attractive and "objective" has no place here. I have never been very comfortable in judging women on their appearance. I can't really say why. I'm not some noble feminist one way or another. I try my best to judge others by the content of their character or their in ring abilities.
  7. Thanks, I think I saw this a few years back. But watching again should be fun. Let me think and I will get you something.
  8. Since this is sorta off the rails. I want to ask, why do all the women in WWE wear support hose? It seems like something from the office. Asuka did not have them in Japan and I think NXT. But first match on the main roster she has them.
  9. It bugs me a lot because it was coined to demean poor wrestling fans and the business in general. Look up how the term was created. I feel like fans using that and "Fake Fighting" is just asinine. Some fans are so scared to admit they like wrestling so they have to demean wrestling, so we know they don't really like it.
  10. Which was done so Bossman could interfere in the ladder match where the Corporation was banned. He lifted the cases and next night he rejoins. Which is probably why WWE never tries subtle because it my time online not a lot of people know that.
  11. Jeff Hardy coming out doped up on PPV was an awful situation that could have been tragic. But Sting shoot pinning him was bad ass.
  12. My thoughts on Breaks vs Street I know Adrian Street from Alabama and even met him days before my 11th birthday. I think he was talking down to me, but I always think that. Jim Breaks I unfortunately only know him as allegedly killing his wife. Street is playing a far more foppish version of the eccentric weirdo. Street here is playing an act to lure his opponents into a trap. Which even here I could see it would work on most of his opposition. But Breaks is too good and they are at a stalemate. The mat wrestling here is next level and basically dead today, The mat wrestling is not a check point to brawling section A, B or C. It is not a side dish or desert, it is the entree and you better pay attention. I missed the first fall and had to rewind it. The submission was like this thing done at super speed that only another master could fully view. By this point Street has abandoned the fop act and is now being vicious in his attack. Street gets a submission, but I honestly have never seen that hold before. It looked like the lifting choke guys would do to Heenan. I think it might have been a standing wristlock. The match goes to a draw which is disappointing but a fact of life of wrestling. I enjoyed seeing how Street was before he merged the English style with the Southern brawling style of Tennessee and Alabama. I can't really do this justice.
  13. Cornette confirmed the story about why Bossman left Crockett. He wanted equal pay because he climbed the scaffold and was taking the same risk.
  14. Could be they think he is leaving in September and want to try to taper his drawing power.
  15. If tag teams count, Demolition is safely number 3 behind Hogan and Warrior. Number 4 would be Brutus and 5 is a toss up between Dusty and Jake. Since they were working Dibiase and Savage, who I think were the defacto top singles heels. To the point anyone they work is a top face by default. I might say Jake, since he was more protected.
  16. I watched Jim Breaks vs Adrian Street. I have a lot of thoughts and will collect them later.
  17. Came across this earlier. Not sure why this Nigel fellow did not lead with this. http://slam.canoe.com/Slam/Wrestling/2018/05/10/22777921.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPmrHYnbX9k
  18. That they have faith Bryan can carry a sack of shit like Cass, shows their faith in Bryan as a draw. They could only book a top guy this bad.
  19. There are some things I try not to complain about publicly for fear of being no fun. But I really really hate when people say "wrassling" or any variation there of. I can agree with everything else being said, see that and sour.
  20. That Tommy was never as hot outside of Georgia is a point in Ole's favor. Flair was probably mixing up 90 and 91. Barry Windham did hold hard feelings toward Flair for not dropping the belt to him. Lex seemed to see it as business.
  21. I never heard the Mabel rumor until very recently. I am the only person who would have preferred that
  22. He can be the Dollar Tree EC3. Cousin Rob records all his matches and even pays for kids to watch him wrestle.
  23. But Ole was booking when Tommy became a big hit. Ole has a really good win/loss record overall. Even better if you throw out WCW.
  24. Roman is Lex Luger, but Roman is somehow hurt even more than Luger. Lex had two World title matches that seemed to do lasting damage. One was when he lost to Ric Flair semi clean at Starrcade 88. Flair did put his feet on the ropes and bash Lex's knee with a chair. But by 1988 standards, that is clean. The other was beating Yokozuna by count out after the giant push. Lex in the WWF was dead in the water. Thinking about it Lex losing the WCW belt back to Hogan after a one week reign did him no favors. Lex was way more over in WCW than Roman has ever been. But I think both are/were great workers who were unfairly labeled as bad.
