Softcore Nick Berk before he was Softcore I guess. It's weird to see a WWF guy in the indies as a babyface. Very WWF like match with a bunch of headlocks and taunting. I just don't get the hype with Reckless Youth He's an alright wrestler but has a awful look and I'm surprised he was in Memphis as long as he was. He started acting very heel towards the end with the bowing.

Norwood looks like he's doing a Godfather parody. OK match with Norwood falling on his neck taking a bump. Finish is typical indie with guys running in. I liked the look of the venue with the big yellow staircase. Not the most exciting match.

I think they did a good job making Benoit look about 20 times more of a star than the other 3 guys in the Radicalz here. HHH takes some chops and then the ref bump happens.I get that this was on the fly with the Eddy injury but they could have at least had Benoit win by DQ or something to lead to the heel turn on Monday.

[2000-02-03-WWF-Smackdown] The Rock vs Kurt Angle vs Tazz
Tim Evans replied to soup23's topic in February 2000
Rock being in the same ring as Tazz is still weird to see. Always loved the Rock/Angle feud and this wasn't much different.Thought the big show interference was good because it got Rock out of the picture and the other two guys go the heat. As for Rock's promos, I still enjoy them but they are an acquired taste. -
Three way hair matches are usually pretty shit unless you are dandy/Santo/Casas. This wasn't too bad. I liked that Cerebro took it to the match and beat both guys with the same submission. Bombero tried it vs Ciclon and it didn't work. We get some rudo ref BS which is unfortunate but ciclon makes up for it with his nutty dive. The camera man doing a closeup on Bombero biting Ciclon's bloody forehead was nasty but effective. Good match but not the epic I was expecting.

Man H bleeds so much it would make Tommy Rich blush. I don't get Tenyru as Hayabusa but it was nice to see and the crowd goes crazy.

Match was fine but this was all about the final angle. LLL invades CMLL with Mosco, Cibernetico, Abismo Negro, Histeria, Psicosis and Electro Shock dressing up as CMLL rudos until the rudos came out and unmasked them. Crazy scene with Abismo hitting his own man with a fireball, Electro getting into it with fans and the vipers getting arrested. This was to build up the Paradismo card of AAA vs CMLL. Just insane to see AAA guys in Arena Mexico. They did a mini version of this with the same Psicosis and Histera invading in like 2009 but this was more crazy.

Always a big fan of the 2000s run of Original Mascara Sagrada. He's basically what LA Park is now without the blood and brawling. Although, in this match he and Scorpio go backstage. Chad is right that this is comfort food Lucha. Nothing that will be on top of lists but still fun to watch. Bombero was brutal in this gouging Ciclon's eyes and face in the second fall. Only disappointing part about this is no dives. Felino's mask falling off during the finish of the 3rd fall makes up for it tho.

Wagner doing some of the brawling he would do with LA Park years later here was nice. I think if this was about 5 minutes shorter it would be better than it was. Still not a big El Samurai fan even though he brought some fire.

Rusev needs to go the Drew Mcintyre route. He's never going to be pushed when he's with Lana. Go on the indies and make them want to hire you back. Thought the show was really good overall. Both Cell matches delivered. I can see why people hate Shane matches but I love them. Just crazy spotfests. Only match I didn't like was Roode/Ziggler. Ziggler is probably the worst guy on the roster not named Noam Dar.

This match would have been done in silence if it wasn't for Lita. I like Papi Chulo but he needs a good base to make his stuff look good and Spanky isn't that. I was hoping this would be worked more lucha style but it wasn't.

Overall, I liked this as D-Lo was over as hell and it told a good story. Dragon is still not very good as a chicken shit heel but I agree with Chad that he's better here than from January. It's nice to see these matches with Developmental guys vs guy that is pretty huge in WWF at the time.
-
It's funny to see these two guys have a heated brawl when they are partners in another indie. Good stuff here especially from Ki. Homicide brings the violence by throwing chairs and I liked the brawl at the end for the finish.

Southern States wrestling legend KC Thunder invades the northeast. When i saw the listing of this match, I didn't know what to expect. I wasn't expecting Da Hit Squad to go all Eddie gilbert/Tommy Rich heel bumping route. They made this enjoyable working two older fat guys. I'm guessing Goodman was the promoter for this as he looks like a stereotypical promoter doing a painted babyface gimmick. Interesting match to watch for sure.

Man D-Lo was over like a rover here. So was Lita for that matter. Weird seeing Spanky/Dragon team up as they were just feuding during the Cade match. This was fun thanks to the crowd and D-Lo working well with the texas guys. The Finish is weird with the camera missing I guess Lita tossing Spanky onto Dragon. They break up afterwards but would become a great team a few months later.

Yaguchi has his own fake wrestler. That's awesome. Typical Onita style brawl that's chaotic but has too many people in it. Togo doing a pele kick in a barbed wire match is impressive. After the match, Zandig and Wifebeater show up with a weedwhacker to challenge Onita and beat up fake onita and everyone else. Crazy scene with tons of photogs in the ring, Zandig with a weedwhacker chasing people and Onita crying. After the heels leave, Onita does his great crying promo and is treated like he's the pope. Just a great scene

Brandon Baxter lays down an open challenge for Seven's TV title. Dave Brown says Seven stole the title from Blade 2 weeks before in the parking lot. Derrick King answers the challenge in street clothes. Brandon laughs it off but then agrees. Seven looks like he concusses himself on a headscissors where he lands right on his head. That had to hurt. He continues the match and it's decent till another run in by the Cartel. Buddy Landell of all people makes the save. I had no idea he was in Power Pro in 2000 and as a babyface of all things. He must not have lasted long. Good action but these non finishes are getting old.

Cornette did not shut up for a minute in the 6 minute video. Good lord he's an annoying commentator. Poor Dean Hill. McCollough is really bad and Mark Henry wasn't that much better in this. Too short to really rank but of course it ends in a DQ. OVW continues to be the worst promotion in 2000. At least AAA had the mini's.
