  1. RIP Hideo Itami (they just did a Coming Soon video for him on 205 Live).
  2. I had a feeling when Ruby started growing her hair out she was going to get a call up soon. Not wanting the women on the roster to have short hair is like Vince Quirk #687686876. At least this hopefully solves a couple of issues, NXT had a glut of women not getting enough work on TV, and the main roster had a laughably small women's division since the brand split. I don't think any of the six brought up are ready for prime time to be honest (Paige is sure to have tons of ring rust), but at least it freshens things up.
  3. Nothing says "Smackdown definately isn't the B show, no sir" than doing the exact same angle Raw did the night before.
  4. It seemed that Hunter got hurt on the backbreaker deal he did on Nakamura, and for a while guys were just kind of improvising while he surveyed the damage. He also kind of disappeared for a while after, I assumed the doctors were checking him out on the floor or something.
  5. After last year's miracle with Shane, AJ vs literally anyone will be well recieved.
  6. Pure speculation, but I could see that being a situation where Brock didn't want to work with him. The way he worded it made it sound like Vince never really saw Finn as a main event guy, booked him to get killed by Kane like a chump to dull his heat, then used his lesser crowd reaction as justification to not have him in the main event.
  7. One of the many Flair family curses is an inability to hit moves off the top rope.
  8. I mean, it's automatically better than any of the late 90s-2000s WCW War Games, and as much as the 80s ones are beloved this one won't end in a lame manager submission.
  9. For the first time they've ever tried it, it's not bad. If it becomes a regular match I'd expect the camera work to improve.
  10. Roddy looking like Rambo Greg Gagne in here.
  11. Watching Dain makes me want him to have a match against War Machine just to have a bearded fat guy clubber-off.
  12. Also what are the odds that Adam Cole's cut from the other night accidently-on-purpose gets reopened?
  13. RODERICK OF PAIN
  14. Half expecting Arn to start the War Games match just out of habit.
  15. Peyton selling it like the Rock taking a Stunner made up for the forced aspect of it.
  16. Jesus Christ that splat that Nikki Cross made on the floor...
  17. Velveteen Dream my new favorite NXT guy just for busting out the Rick Rude gimmick for his tights.
  18. Also I just realized we're going to see what I thought was the coolest thing ever when I was a kid: non War Games matches in the double rings.
  19. For all the "Horsewomen" groups going around, I'd love to see Peyton and Billie actually act like Horsewomen. Billie as the Arn of the group making sure the title stays where it is would be great.
  20. Hero winning would seem counterproductive, since the point of the match appears to be getting Lars over by putting him with a guy who can make him look like a millon bucks in his first big match. The women's match is interesting though. Peyton winning and having everyone chase seems to make the most sense in booking terms, but Ember has to win the big one at some point or she'll end up getting Lex Luger'd. There's probably a big temptation on their part to put it on Sane to build off the tournament, so it will be something to watch to see which way they end up going.
  21. The match was always two words back in the day..... The 80s movie with Matthew Broderick however was spelled WarGames though.
  22. I'm sure he'd be into being the heel manager type for Owens and Zayn about 1000x more than he was being slotted as Random Wyatt Family Member.
  23. It seems to make almost too much sense for Daniel to go heel with Sami and KO since they all have issues with Shane.
  24. As great as Okada's run as champ has been in terms of quality matches, it hasn't been the most drama filled run for sure. I guess they kind of painted themselves in the corner, either Okada only has matches with guys at the very tippy top and becomes a Brock like character who's never around or he wrestles more frequently and has more matches with guys who don't have a real chance of winning. If nothing else it makes the other guy look good having a top quality match with the champ, even in a losing effort. One thing the booking tends to be good at for them is the whole "make guys look good while losing" deal, which didn't used to be difficult but is a lost art these days.
  25. I mean, the Venn diagram of English language NJPW World subscribers and WON subscribers is almost a complete overlap, so it doesnt seem completely out of place to me. It always seems like a lot of folks think Japanese wrestling somehow is lessened if it doesnt remind them of the tapes they saw that first piqued their interest.
